I also have my birthday today. Last year on my birthday I was taking part in a military exercise in the middle of the friggin' woods. It was about -25 C, so it wasn't a terribly fun exercise, either. I remember my water bottle constantly freezing, despite keeping it close to my body. I also managed to freeze my spare set of socks back then, too. Drying them on my neck my ass, those buggers froze stiff. But the night was the best, sitting in the warm tent chatting with my squadmates while grilling some meat on the fire. Wasn't the same as cake. 'Twas better.
