Yay for October! Nights are getting darker, the air is getting chillier, Halloween is just around the corner and I am BORED OUT OF MY MIND. I'm sitting here, all by myself with nothing to do, so I thought I'd ask you, my friends, to recommend some horror movies for a dark, stormy October night.

Anything goes (as long as it's fairly recently made) but I've watched my fair share of horror movies so maybe something a little more obscure?

Come on guys, save my night.

I think most of the really good ones are widely known. The ring, the Grudge, Dark Water...to a lesser extent.(original Asian versions, would avoid American remakes)

Orphan? Thirst? Dead Snow? Wish I could be more helpful, but I'm a little weak on horror.

The first Saw. I really liked The Cabin in the Woods. Uhh, what else. Silence of the Lambs. That's all I can think of right now, lol.

Oh yeah... Halloween. Huh. How about that... Totally forgot about it to be honest, maybe my friends and I will get a horror film night or something. Probably not since one of them is anti-fun XD

Rec.
Rec is a god damn amazing movie. My film and editing teacher showed us the trailer at college and I followed it up at home, and although it's in Spanish it is, as the captcha of this reply says, the bee's knees.

Noroi- Japanese found footage film of a paranormal investigator. It's pretty long but there were a few scenes that got me pretty good. Not bloody and doesn't have many jump scares but it sets up some pretty good atmosphere.

Lake Mundo- Another found footage film, this time from Australia. It's a pretty slow build up and it's interesting but not very scary until the end. Holy shit that ending.

Yes REC is worth seeing. REC 2 was okay and REC 3 was had a good cast and acting but wasn't nearly as scary as the first.

Danish movie The Witches (or Witchcraft Through The Ages), which has nothing to do with Roald Dahl, is really good. It's from the twenties.
