every generation thinks their time is the end of times.

one must remember that our obstinate refusal to die is the only thing that outmatches our stupidity.

Listen. The end times are no where near. There have always been terrible events in the world, it's just that we live in a time where we know about so many more of them then we did before. Politely tell her you disagree, feel good about life, and make a sandwich.

Palin for president in 2012 is enough of a sign for me.

Wait, there's sections in the bible that directly address homosexuality? I thought they just disapproved of entering the backdoor.
I believe it's along the lines of "If a man lies with another man, he shall surely be put to death."

OT: I haven't seen any evidence of the world ending, but I'll keep a lookout for you, just in case.

Yeah, but most people don't read that particular book of the Bible (Leviticus, in case you're interested, which I doubt) because it is INCREDIBLY BORING! Seriously, it's akin to reading a state law book while riding in a car with a broken radio that is travelling down a very straight road in the middle of a desert.

No, but considering all the insanity that's going on lately, it's getting to the point that I'm where I'm hope the world ends soon.

That's because it is a State Law book, if you consider Ancient Israel to be a state. It also has prohibitions on eating shell fish, which Jews and Muslims may follow, but the average Christian does not, because most Christians see a line between the laws of Israel the kingdom and the laws of God. Plus there's that whole Grace thing...

yes the world is totally coming to an end. these are the worst times in human history.
much worse than the black plague, crusades, slavery being a part of every civilization, both world wars, great depression, and spanish flu.
HOW CAN ANYONE SAY THAT NOW IS THE WORST TIME EVER!?!?!?!?
the world's not going to end until the sun burns out, up until then even after we die, there will be new lifeforms

Whenever I hear that scientists have proven that the sun won't go out for millions of years, I always worry that they forgot to carry a 0 or something stupid like that and we've only got twenty years instead of twenty million years. I know its very unlikely but it still bugs me.

They've said that the "end times" are just around the corner for the past 2000 years now.

If you count how many times in the last 2000 years the world has ended, and modestly figure in a monthly claim of the apocalypse being nigh, you end up with 24,000 times where the christians were wrong, and 0 times where they were correct.

If you hear 2+2=5 24,000 times by the same crowd, are you really going to wonder if they're right on their 24,001st claim?
