Listen. The end times are no where near. There have always been terrible events in the world, it's just that we live in a time where we know about so many more of them then we did before. Politely tell her you disagree, feel good about life, and make a sandwich.
Yeah, but most people don't read that particular book of the Bible (Leviticus, in case you're interested, which I doubt) because it is INCREDIBLY BORING! That's because it is a State Law book, if you consider Ancient Israel to be a state. It also has prohibitions on eating shell fish, which Jews and Muslims may follow, but the average Christian does not, because most Christians see a line between the laws of Israel the kingdom and the laws of God. Whenever I hear that scientists have proven that the sun won't go out for millions of years, I always worry that they forgot to carry a 0 or something stupid like that and we've only got twenty years instead of twenty million years. I know its very unlikely but it still bugs me.Drakmeire said:

If you count how many times in the last 2000 years the world has ended, and modestly figure in a monthly claim of the apocalypse being nigh, you end up with 24,000 times where the christians were wrong, and 0 times where they were correct.
If you hear 2+2=5 24,000 times by the same crowd, are you really going to wonder if they're right on their 24,001st claim?
