How is Star Wars not on the list? Ohrite, EA owns it now, no chance Netherrealm are getting near it (unless they get bought out... shudder). Still, it would make an interesting fighter, there are certainly enough characters and you COULD make them a lot different, even among Force users.

One thing I think you're neglecting to mention is a 2vs2. Honestly, I don't see any point in making a game exclusively 1vs1 (it's the one thing that annoys me about Injustice), 1vs1 can still be there and there's no point in not allowing 4 friends to play together in local versus (or two friends going online on the same console). It's rare that you only get 1 friend over to play with and not giving them any content other than to fight against each other seriously hurts the game's longevity (I can see my friend and me reverting to MK9 really soon from Injustice, tag ladder is great fun, especially with self-made challenges). Besides, 2vs2 creates some interesting dynamic in matches and allows a game to go on longer than the usual 1vs1, which I find a bit short for my liking.

The thing is with Japanese Fighting Games aren't "bloody" enough. If SF had MK style X-Ray and Fatalities he may enjoy it, but Japanese Fighting Games are far away from that.

Uhh, in a video I posted a character fights by bleeding himself and using that blood as projectiles or sharp instruments.

In darkstalkers there's this guy who fills you up with his blood till you burst from the inside, you even see the body part swell to huge proportions before detonating.

In guilty gear A.B.A, a fighter with a huge demonic instrument in the shape of a key, wears nothing but bandages and has a mode in which her life constantly drains and she leaves blood stains on the ground as she runs but her weapon is powered up. She has actual medicenal blood-packs on her person to sustain her without fainting.

Really, how much more bloody can you get...?

I think it's all just perceptions my friend, people just "think" these games are not bloody cause they've not ACTUALLY checked them out so that's what they are to them. Ignorance at it's best.

Here you go, 5 different new fighting games which came out last years/this year and are not triple A or western for that matter but are actually way better than games such as Mortal Kombat. Still think the genre needs to be revitalized? :D
Yes I do, at least when it comes to the AAA and mainstream franchises.

Capcom needs to get the stick out of their ass and crossover with Mortal Kombat. Think of the Fatality potential...
Nah, I'd rather see Marvel vs. DC. Not sure if Capcom has some exclusive deal with Marvel, but if not, get on that! Spiderman vs. Robin would be sick!

Mortal Kombat levels of blood, necks snapped off, people reduced to blood pulp kind of bloody.

And people are thinking about modern japanese fighting games which indeed have deviated from it's bloody western brother

Mortal Kombat vs. Darkhorse sounds like a natural step into crossovers ... darkhorse comic books has tons of great characters.
