It's shown me nothing but bad news.

But the good news is that I'm highly suggestible, so give me something, ANYTHING, that will make me change my mind.*

*nothing too soppy, please.

Edit: wow, hyperbole is apparently really hard to understand on the internet, so for the easily offended of you: THIS IS A POST FUNNY OR CUTE PICTURES/VIDEOS/WHATEVER THREAD.

Listen to some Pavarotti.

There is no reason to lose faith in humanity.
I think we're doing pretty well actually.
There are problems like lack of emancipation in some countries, but we can fix those issues in time.
Just out of curiosity: Why did you lose faith in humanity?
It's quite silly, honestly.

I agree, if you've given up on me, there's no reason for me to change your mind. If it's shown you nothing but bad news, you aren't looking in the right places. Hell, go out and start doing good yourself.

If you feel that humanity has nothing to offer you, you may want to consider adopting an existentialist philosophy; while this is simplifying the concept, it would in effect nullify any concepts of morality that would cause the acts of humanity to depress you, as the purpose of life becomes merely to exist. This has the added bonus of not being a pro-suicide viewpoint on life, because existence is still a worthy reason to live; it is in fact, the only reason to live.

With this in mind, your perception of humanity itself may alter drastically, that is, "humanity" will be replaced by an infinite sea of individuals with their own desires and aspirations. Rather than observing acts which depress you and attribute them to a collective will, they will become associated with individuals.

I propose this as an alternate to defying your 'giving up on humanity' by removing the concept of humanity from your worldview.

Well I just remembered a childhood classic, thanks to the escapist so humanity is good for that I guess.

I apologize, I HAD to do that, and I usually never do that.

Ahem, listen, and try to not sing along, this always cheers me up (the song itself, not the instructions)

WARNING: Inappropriate and very catchy. Debatably NSFW.

Here's something thats always nice to share with people on these threads.

No one really cares about you "giving up on humanity." Just find a hobby like ping pong or something and quit being so cynical.

I will admit. My almost offensively-oversized genetalia DO offer a, ahem, small comfort.

To quote Se7en:

David Mills: I don't think you're quitting because you believe these things you say. I don't. I think you want to believe them, because you're quitting. And you want me to agree with you, and you want me to say, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right. It's all fucked up. It's a fucking mess. We should all go live in a fucking log cabin." But I won't. I don't agree with you. I do not. I can't.
