While on a long bus ride back from college today, i took out my DS nd started up a game of Spirit Tracks. The women who was sitting looked over at what i was done and said, "Oh those stuipd things, there just as bad as heroin". Really? that bad? ive heard some people bad mouth games before, but never like that, anyone ever heard anything along the same lines or worse?

I hope you punched the woman, or at least flipped her off. Such profound ignorance cannot be tolerated. I use to get comments about how I was "addicted" to video games when I was younger, but that's pretty much ceased.

Should have told her the first half hour was free.

OT; You cant blame simple people for spewing out whatever popular opinion they may have heard on fox news.

Okay, well, for one, if someone doesn't play Games then I'm pretty sure that they are not subjected to extreme physical pain. Seriousely, I remember hearing somewhere that Heroin withdrawl is the most painful and excruciating thing that can be experienced by a human being currently known.

Yeah, they totally sound the same so far. /SARCASM

I know someone that had a heroin addiction. That woman knows nothing and you should have broken her knees with your stylus.

EDIT: Hey, I'm 1337 now...! Eh, I don't feel any different.

Tell her that she has inspired you to perform a controlled test. You will first game for several months. Afterwards, you will try heroin for the same amount of time. All the while you will record how you feel. At the end of the experiment, you will sue her for inducing to try whichever one is worse.

Bonus points if you have siblings on whom to repeat the test. Got to make sure there aren't any anomalies.

I would backhand the *****, my avatar paints a nice picture here.

I still amazed how people find a way to be so dumb and so intolerant of other mediums.

Well as far as addictive behavior goes, anything can become addictive if used too often, but comparing video games to heroin is harsh and rather ignorant, not to mention stupid.

Seeing as I've never preformed "favors" for money to buy games, I've never had to go to some shady dealer out on the street to get them, and I've never heard of getting arrested for buying or selling video games (and I've done both) I'm going to have to say no, they are not as bad as Heroin.

People tend to say stupid things about stuff they don't know about, just ignore them. My parents say that sorta stuff all the time, I ignore them.

I've been told by people who watch X Factor that playing video games is 'pathetic'...
