It's been about 5 months since I booted steam for TF2 and I had to download a lot of updates that took about 2 mins. Then I saw that they have a Steam Beta interface. So I tried it and man it looks nice. Everything is much more organized. Do any of you like the Steam beta look and use it or stick with the original look?

The beta is glorious. It makes socialising a lot easier, and looks a lot less like a business application.

In direct reference to the thread title:

Congratulation. Many people have trouble achieving that, it being as reliable as it is...

I like it. It's smooth and clean. I just wish I could add a background image for my non-steam games in my games window.

Haven't tried the beta yet, but I may get around to it. I'm just afraid to try something else because Steam takes forever and a half to load as it is.

I dislike your use of the word "original look", because the look you are use to is not the original, but is atleast the second look that I can think of. This Beta is now atleast the third look.

Anywho, I have not tried it but I'm sure it will be good. I'm just gonna wait till it is released and everyone has to download it though.

Don't know how the first one looked. So to me...the second look is the first look

The new interface looks a lot nicer, although I'm skeptical that it's an improvement in any other way.

Frankly, I just want the Mac version to come out already. Valve said it would be out in April, and it's the 25th already ? it could look like a puddle of vomit on my screen for all I care, I just want to play Half-Life 2 on OS X.

The Steam UI Beta is going live for EVERYONE in... well, tomorrow.
So yeah, you're all coming to the dark (and sleek, pretty, organized) side rather soon.

I'm loving the new interface. Specially the detailed game info.

I much prefer the Beta, it lets me organise my games beyond Favourite, Not Favourite and Not Installed.

That said, I did prefer the ability to set multiple categories for games that was set up in the beta at first.

I've tried the beta, switched back in 30 seconds. I only use Steam to boot up my games, so all I need is a simple list of my games WITH SMALL ICONS. The new Steam is trying to be a multiplayer lobby social site.
You know, the list is customizable. Mine doesn't even have icons, just the game's name.

Shows how much I know. Maybe I should boot up steam more often.

I've seen the new interface. I like the older Steam better. But then again, I spent three years getting used to the current interface, I don't see any reason to change it.

As long as the new interface isn't difficult to navigate, it's not that big a deal.
