A lot of the film's on OP's list. I keep telling myself I should watch all the classics of my generation, at least, but I can never seem to find the time.
It's become a running joke amongst some of my friends that I still haven't seen Titanic though, so I guess I can't watch that. It's almost a conversation starter by itself - "Hi, I'm Joe. I haven't seen Titanic!"

I am one of the only people I know who hasn't seen Avatar. Everybody has been freaking out about how good it is for months, and I just haven't got around to it. To be honest, I'm not sure I care enough to see it.

High five, my non-Avatar-watching brother!
Don't see it. It was horrible. There was pretty much no action for the first 2 hours, then it got crazy. Boring, dumb, and not worth 2 and a half hours.

There are many, many things I haven't seen... but I guess the big one would be Doctor Who. I have never, ever seen a single episode of that.

Titanic.

Even though Leonardo DiCaprio is now one of my favourite actors, I just can't sit through and watch it. I've tried, twice, and I can't make my way through it.

pretty much every horror movie, a good amount of Disney Movies, and a lot of stuff that's described as a great "family movie"

Let's have a go at this then. I'm assuming that movies that my friends are always quoting/harping on about are OK, right?

-Jurassic Park (Any)
-V for Vendetta
-Team America
-Alien
-Aliens
-Alien vs Predator
-Predator
-Predators or whatever it's called.
-The Birds
-KillBill
-The Hangover (watching now though)
-Mean Girls

I plan on watching most of them sometime soon, but most of them are 'let's see what's on TV. Oh that! My mates are always talking about that one' rather than 'Gotta see that!'

Thats the great thing about the film industry... if you missed the classic film that was made before you were born.. just wait a couple years and Hollywood will churn you out a brand new fresh copy made just for your generation and trimmed with all the bells and whistles of the current state of the art technology!

Now, some of the 100 movies you need to see before you die, are definitely phenominal achievements, But alot of them I could live without seeing simply because its been done again already, and that is also why I cant watch a film based on a true story, or a well known story. I already know the story... so I would just be watching it for all the graphical fluff.

My perfect example is the spiderman films, specifically the first one. Growing up on 1990s fox cartoons, I had the "origin" story of spiderman so ingrained in my cranium, that I couldnt be troubled to watch it again with Sea Biscuit.

Honestly... Im not a fan of old movies. It takes a massively important reason for me to sit through anything filmed before 1980s and 1990s. Not as representative of my own life span, but more to the effect the further back you go into movie history the more a film is dated.

Not to say there arent great movies before that time, But the precursor to Digital filming, Analog film rarely ages well and looks especially blurry and faded to me. Which is counteractive to my personal immersion in the plot. Its kinda like a nagging pop up add that you cant get to go away, and because it is there I get fixated on it, instead of what I should be.

Your life won't be complete until you watch it.

"All I'm saying, mon, is if we walk Jamaican, talk Jamaican, and *is* Jamaican, then we sure as hell better bobsled Jamaican."

I can feel the tears coming already.
"Sanka, Ya dead, mon?"

"Ya mon"

Movie snobs can go ahead and pop out from under their rocks to call me a troll now. =P
I shall now repeat the basic gist of what people seem to say here a lot.

"Your opinion seems different to the vast majority of people's here. You are either an idiot or a troll. How dare you go against the majority opinion of (melodramatic tones here, perhaps a single tear rolling majestically down my cheek) the last bastion of intelligence on the internet!"

Yeah, that's basically it. You've just reminded me of a lot of "classic" games that I consider to be anything but good - mediocre, boring as hell, would never make it if released today.
haha thanks, when I saw the quote reply in my Inbox I literally cringed expecting a flame, but I am relieved it wasn't and happy someone is agreeing with me ;)

I'm all for differing opinions and I really don't mind if someone loves a classic that I hate. But it's when people still proclaim some of them as "best thing evar" today when I have to stop them and ask for objective reasons. Most opinions then seem to break down instantly and people are left just making excuses for why certain aspects are not as good compared to today. Sorry but excuses don't make something magically better, and the fact that it was good 10 years ago means very little today.

Thanks to netflix and me most likely being a bit older than most people on this site, I have seen all of the necessary nerd viewing there is. What I haven't seen would be most romantic comedies and straight to DVD Disney movies. I also almost killed my roommate when he told me he has never seen the Goonies.

I fully recommend Pulp Fiction. The dialogue between characters is top notch.

OT: I've never seen the Godfather, but plan to watch the film soon.

I also saw Platoon recently, recommend it to anyone who enjoys a war flick with deep meaning.
