So because Apple lost a court case and now has to allow jailbreaks (though they can cancel warranty somehow) they are now hacking iPhones, etc. and blocking them? And somehow Microsoft are the evil ones? I'm glad I never bothered with any of Apples products.

But hey they can still sell anything to their "disciples" (I think they will lose a lot of regular "fans" over this)
lol is that charger for real???? And the responses too???
I don't know but when I saw that image I went to the macrumers site and the the post was there and so were the comments. I never went back there...

I googled it and lo i see its an actual product they are marketing to the zombine masses....

And the traitorware thing.....aages back when i knew people who got copies of windows xp, i told them(jokingly) that Ruler of the Multiverse Bill Gates is watching them via the webcam on their laptops........
Mr. Gates is pretty amazing.

Guess I'm buying a HTC based phone now. Blasted Apple, they are so mongrel about their products, they wont let the users actually use it to its full capability. "WE'Z MUST MILK DEM' FOR THIER MONEIZ!"

Can't believe I went for an Interview to work with them when I think about it. :|

This is why I've never bought an apple product.

I intend to keep it that way.

I think the new Mac guy in their commercials needs to be Robert Pattinson, cause this puts them firmly into creepy stalker territory.

This isn't nuts, it's just extreme.

Nuts would be if the iPhone explodes in your face when you try to jailbreak it.
Don't give Steve-y wonder any ideas. The man might just be crazy enough to do it. He's drunk with power these days.

So let me get this straight.

People are pirating the iPhone and violating their license.
Apple want to stop people violating the license as it is illegal.

And this is considered a bad thing?
As much as you would like to you can't shoot a guy for burning down your house. You can't even beat the crap out of him. It's much the same here people jailbreaking their phones legal or not (it is legal) shouldn't give Apple the right to forcefully install software onto peoples electronic devices that has the sole purpose of spying on their day to day lives.

Makes me want to modify them just to make sure that damn software would never get installed.

I don't think companies realise that once you've bought a product it's yours, not theirs. How bad will we let this get before we start having every call recorded, every website visit noted and every movement tracked? We aren't far off it.

What's wrong with protecting your product? I'd do the same thing.

It does not belong to apple.

It belongs to you. Thats the whole concept behind PURCHACING a telephone.

The software on the phone belongs to apple. If you dont like it, simply jailbreak it and install new software.

By your logic, my laptop belongs to microsoft and installing linux on it should be punishable by them bricking my PC, recording my webcam, location, calls and heartbeat....

Actually aside from its detection of jailbreaking this just looks like an extension of their find my iphone function on mobile me. A function which helped me get back a stolen iphone.

Stuff like this is why I don't trust Apple or buy their products.

Also because I don't like paying about twice as much for a device as I need to.

This is gonna get Apple sued.

Guys! Under 18?

Then press your iPhone up against your genitalia. Apple will be forced to store child porn in it's headquarters, thusly getting prosecuted, and you get to keep your precious apps for counting until doomsday and whatnot.
Pure gold.

As someone who has never bought an apple product this is just encouraging me to stay further away than before. Sod you apple, sod you and your creepy money hungry ways.

Need to monitor your newly installed apps to see which ones are traitorware?

There's an app for that.

It says something about a company, famous for it's lack of viruses, starts to make viruses to affect it's own hardware.
