This thread is just screaming for HankMan.

OT: I'd probably eat it if my life depended on it, but otherwise, hell no.

meh, there's Las Vegas created a system to make sewer water drinkable. So I believe this is possible. I woulds still opt for regular meat if it was the same price tho. Because aminals be tasty.

mark my words this well be the new hot dog someday

Clearly none of the people here realize just what it is McDonalds is shoving down their throats.
Ironically I'm totally willing to eat this and never eat mcdonalds.

McDonalds, just as processes as poop-burgers, but a heck of a lot worse for you.*

*In my humble opinion McDonalds probably tastes worse but since I haven't tasted these burgers I can't be sure.

Considering I've seen and smelled the amount of crap (literally) that is thrown into our fields for grain, not to mention the environments that cattle and the like have to deal with, protein made this way is actually cleaner.

I wouldn't advertise it as this, though.

So we get to the point where to solve world hunger, we suggest that the poorer countries should eat our shit? I've been waiting for that. :D

OT: It's not that bad, if the "found in poop" angle proves too negative, they'll just find a more PC source for the bacteria and be less efficient about it.

Did you know that the FDA permits a certain amount of insect parts in your food also?
Yeah but its a good point to remember that insects are high in protein and also that we all eat insects (by accident mind you) when we sleep, mainly due to the fact that many bugs like spiders and moths crawl into our mouths in our sleep and our reflex is to swallow. So bug parts in food really isn't that big of a deal.

OT: One step closer to Soylent Green...

EDIT: Also, I have noticed in this thread that alot of people say McDonalds tastes probably worst. Must be an American thing because Australian McDonalds tastes perfectly fine.

I find myself a little distressed at the sight of this...
I would probably eat it if someone didn't tell me what it was at first then render judgement. But unless I was STARVING, literally starving I would never choose to eat it knowing what it is.

If I was going to die of hunger otherwise (and I knew I would live by eating a couple), then yes I would. But even if I was dying of hunger and I wasnt sure if I would live anyway, then probably not. Id rather die a bit sooner and not eat this literal shit.

Fun Fact:If the only thing you used your keyboard for was to take shits, your keyboard in it's current state would be more bacteria-ridden. Just saying that's all.

Foods for thought aside, I would never eat shit. And die. It puts a whole new spin on that line don't you think?

I love how in the video he claims "If we couldnt price it the same as regular meat, it would be of no practical value"

Really? Making meat out of feces that likely no one will eat regardless of the taste had a practical value?

Im very glad to know science is focusing on the "turdburger" problem instead of wasting time on meaningless drivel like curing diabetes or creating completely renewable energy sources.

If I'm starving, on a deserted island, with only that thing to eat...
I'll end up eating it. Since I'm not currently on one and not starving, I can be snooty and say "EWWWWW!"

Is Japan one step closer to solving world hunger and realizing the dreams little boys and girls have everywhere for a bright and happy future with candy-coated rainbow unicorns?

Are you guys fucking serious?
How is this a bad thing in any way? Loads of countries make perfectly normal food out of equally weird sources, this guy's just helping the world with a major problem. It's not that big a deal, get over it.
