I haven't seen any of the Transformers films after the first one since none of them managed to catch my interest at all (plus, I don't know shit about Transformers).

But damn, THIS would make me watch the movies. Jason Statham kicks ass.

Jokes aside, Jason Statham could make the new one actually worth watching for me. I despise Michael Bay for basically making exploitation movies. Exploitive of women, of fast cars, of giant robots, of the US Military and of explosions. That and the huge tonal inconsistency and his horrible idea of humor.

But Spielberg directing sounds good and Statham might be a good pick. But I hope they don't try to tie in his relationship with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the last three had enough of that. Hopefully if this becomes a reality, which I doubt and not really rooting for the idea. Spielberg can focus on the Transformers.

I was hoping for a total franchise reboot and have the first movie on Cybertron. I'm tired of so many human characters while the title characters, the TRANSFORMERS, take a back seat while everything happens with a group of humans.

There has been one thing that they really need to clarify, the status of the Autobots and Decepticons. They said that they were nearly extinct(mostly the Autobots) but they keep adding a few to the Autobot team's roster, and an couple armies for the Decepticons. Also where is the Autobot Army?
