Narcissistic rage is absolutely correct when describing the plaintiff.

When this inevitably blows up in his face, it will be narcissistic injury.

Can the bubble he lives in contain the weight of reality; of the shame? Do you think this person [http://www.thejimquisition.com/special-podcast-jim-sterling-and-digital-homicide-hash-it-out/] will walk away? Act maturely? Take up gardening? Seek therapy?

From memory Jim hinted on an old podcast about strangers driving around his house, but no specifics as to whom.
This case is an interesting sideshow, but the real uncertainty is what comes after the verdict/dismissal.

Jim's lawyers probably want to get Romine to embarrass himself in front of the judge, which is also why they requested an oral argument.
If I were Jim's lawyers, that would have been my number 1 objective. Get the idiot to actually try and argue his case in person in front of the judge for 5 minutes, and you're guaranteed to walk away with a dismissal with prejudice

To answer the first one: No! He had almost 2 years to turn around and de-escalate this. Based on all that has happened, Romine won't turn around in time to avoid the blow.

And I would be amazed, yet not, if the Romines had crossed that line (or at least James, whose pattern of harrassing Jim is the most concerning here)- remember, this is the guy who started the attacks on Jim when the first fight on the Slaughtering Grounds happened, he tried to defend to Popehat with ignorant understanding of the law the copyright strike, and was passing notes to Robert during the interview for the next line of attack - and on his deposition papers to the judge, James pretty much admitted to persecuting and harrassing Jim by joining Patreon and suscribing to his account - why would he do that when he have a nasty quarrel with the individual who ruined him?

Also, on the Jimqusition "Homicide" video, Jim said Digital Homicide tried to "f-him financially". Prior to that video, Jim stated before there was someone who was trying to get an apperant "IRS investigation" on the money he gets from Patreon - some speculated it was DigiHom.

I'm just amaze they are taking this long to demand a force deposition in front of the Judge. Makes you wonder if Romine's non stop motions are to avoid a deposition.

If I was Jim I'd file for an emergency suit on premise of harassment and the frivolity of the suit in an attempt to get it heard in front of a judge asap, however I'm sure his lawyers have a sound strategy to handle the situation, and even if they don't the case will mostly handle itself at this point.

We speculated on stuff like that earlier in the thread. Impression that I get is that Romine doesn't really know what the fuck he's doing, and there's no ulterior motivation or grand design to all his paperwork. And considering that he knows he'd have to argue before the judge if this went to trial, I think he doesn't realize how badly he'd look.

It's possible you're right though. If this is a nuisance suit and he wants Jim to settle, it might make sense for Romine to delay an actual trial. His other behavior doesn't really support that, though, since he do genuinely seem to think he has a case he can win. Can be hard to tell with narcissists.

I thought that rage was a response to injury? That's how we got in this mess. Jim questioned Romine's (delusional) worldview by saying TSG was shit, Romine lashed out with the meltdown video, Jim and his fans further injured Romine's ego with their response, Romine lashed out with the DMCA strike, etc. The rage that is this lawsuit was sparked by the various injuries to his ego he thinks are caused by Jim. It will certainly be further narcissistic injury when the case gets thrown out, so who knows how he'll lash out next?

He's already at his limit; one more injury could lead to an extreme response.
I've been kind of worried about that, and I've been hoping that some kind of logistical thing would prevent him from spending time or money on further escalation after this lawsuit is over. I sincerely hope he isn't the violent type. Although I'd say filing this lawsuit is already an extreme response, which makes me worry at where he'd go after this.

No no no, if Jim were gonna be attacked by ninjas, it'd be over the whole 'Fuck Konami' thing, which means the ninjas are all fans of the show.

I now invite anybody to start a rumor about Jim having access to an army of ninjas.

I could see him using tht as a final defense: "Let me win the lawsuit or I'll send my secret team of ninjas after you. They're all ninjaed up and really surly, too!"

Then after the lawsuit ends he starts a GoFundMe page to raise funds to hire a secret team of ninjas, and only gets enough money to buy a ninja Halloween costume for himself.

And then, of course, he fails because he'd be the most obvious ninja in the world and the bobbies'd pick him up, easy.

Given that Ninjas are mammals and "flip out" [http://www.realultimatepower.net/index4.htm] how do we know he (Romine) isn't an "american ninja"?

Don't you think you're doing American ninjas a discredit? This man couldn't beat Ed Gruberman. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF6zILkOOc0]

A dish towel wrapped around his face and a t-shirt with 'Ninja' written on the front?

Maybe, although they might mistake him for a member of ISIS or something.

American Ninjas, probably. American Ninja [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088708/], I dunno.
