Ok just watched Yahtzee's poem, quite enjoyable and then... what's Jim talking about? Oh, oh dear what is this? What? Why is he drinking that? What's going on!?

I enjoyed this... and I'm not sure why.

My willpower is waning, if Rogue Legacy drops another 5% (currently 20% off on steam) I'll likely cave. Yahtzee's poem is not helping my resolve...

Yes, I knew the Rogue Legacy reference right off the bat.

The things we do to try to get our Miltanks to evolve.

I am, however, slightly disappointed there was no mention of Bailey Jay after the Gianna Michaels reference.
To be fair, it would probably have been much harder to fit her in.

OT: Possibly the weirdest thing I've heard all week, but hilarious nonetheless. The images of Miltank definitely sold Jim's this week.

I'm worried about you Jim.

I think before too long you'll be reciting your poetry from a white padded cell.
Thank god for Haloperidol?
Selfishly speaking, I'd be fine with that provided it was still filmed and released for viewing.

Pretty fun game, but hard as nails.
Agreed. I started in on it two days ago. I have spent more time choosing the next offspring than I have actually running around in the dungeon. It ain't easy.

I will say that when I chose a dislexic son, I appreciated that all of the text in the text boxes and menus was garbled. Genius. I got one that felt no pain, so my health bar did not indicate my damage level. Oh, and my hypocondriac exhaggerated all of the damage numbers I was dealt and received.

Having just completed Rogue Legacy, I thoroughly enjoyed Yahtzee's rhyme. Jim's rhyme on the other hand, made me laugh hysterically. I guess I liked Jim's more this time, but it really doesn't matter, both were great. I love this series.
How many generations of heroes did it take for you to do it? Can you find your previous characters' corpses where they died?

Jim's eyes. They are unblinking, staring into my soul. What do you want from me Jim? WHY ARE YOU TORMENTING ME IN MY MIND, JIM?!

Heh yeah, I do love the way they implemented all of the genetic traits into the game. I beat the game not too long ago, but man it took me forever to do so heh. After you beat the game there is new game plus mode, so you can enjoy more dungeoneering and dying, but with harder enemies!

At first I thought, "Jim, what's happened to you? You've got sun!"

A minute later I was moving along to the rather disturbing rhythm he set up about this whole milk...tank? At least it was damn catchy!

Seriously Jim, I worry about you when you come into contact with direct sunlight.

I haven't laughed so hard in ages. Thanks, Jim! Good lords, I had no idea poetry could make me laugh my ass off while being terrified outright.

I find myself udderly in awe of Jim's talent. His poem milked the subject for all it was worth. No bull, I am cowed by his talent! Jim is out standing in his field...

I assume Yahtzee's is a reference to a game that has a story about a family line of adventures(or just game adventures in general) who all get killed in the same castle. Pretty good.

And Jim's......Was meant to be kind of disturbing in a funny way.
o_0 Well, it was funny. In a way....
Yahtzee was referencing roguelikes, hence the title. Jim was clearly off his meds. >.>[quote="Stryker"
No. He was referencing the game Rogue Legacy. Which is a "roguelite".

And it's not really a roguelike. It's more a procedurally-generated, metroidvania game where every time you die the castle you've been looting is rearranged and the money collected can be used to upgrade weapons, or magic, or improve stats and gain new character types or abilities. And then the next generation with humorous names and physical traits invades the castle again.

It's a fun game and has already sucked ten or so hours out of my life and I haven't even killed the first boss yet. But
I really think roguelike shouldn't be used as a catchall for 'permadeath' games. There is a word for permadeath. It's permadeath. The original ASCII based 'Rogue' had permadeath, but it was also a turnbased survival RPG game on a grid.
'Rogue Legend' is an action-platformer with quasi-permadeath where the goal is to earn enough money to level your character enough to perhaps get a little further with the next character.

Well... Milktank, guess Jim's gone down the abyss of madness, and it seems like he'll keep falling through, I love it, in a really twisted way though

Rogue Legacy, yes, thus the name "Legacy of Rogues".
