I'm not a fan of this show (I thought the videogames aren't movies vid was pretty bad) but god damn I laughed out loud at the passion with which he pleads for halfnaked men. I have to admit he has a point here, though really all I want to see in games is female armour that is, in fact, armour. Not likely to happen, but neither are any halfnaked men, as the target demographic of many AAA developers (prepubescent boys) is almost by definition homophobic as fuck.

I find it amazing how this guy can talk for minutes on end without saying anything. Escapist, please stop paying this guy, this you guys above him. He's not funny, he doesn't make intelligent points, and he doesn't even say anything. He brings up the points without discussing them. I have watched both videos all the way through but I do have to agree that he is a little like a politician: He talks about a lot of stuff without actually saying anything.

Ummm.. there's a reason why most of the other video creators here don't just stand in front of a camera for their videos: it's boring, less effective than intelligently chosen imagery and, given the budgets most Escapist videos are probably created on, is bound to look like it should be a random scrub on Youtube instead.

I like Jim's solution to gaming sexism, but everything else about this video is just an assault on the senses. The godawful drawings. The complete lack of context for his pointless ranting. The uninspired podium setup. I could picture him just throwing darts at a board to pick his topics ("Ah, boobs in video games, haven't done that one yet!" "Games are not movies!" "DRM!") which tells us nothing about the man himself or why he finds these issues important, other than he thinks we do.

I guess what I'm saying is please bring back Lisa!

Problem; it's just not funny! People don't find MovieBon and Extra Creditz funny because they're intelligent... they're funny because they are funny.

Seriously, what was his point? As Extra Credits said, a little titillation is fine now and then. Objectifying men doesn't solve the ACTUAL inherent sexism in making female characters absolutely token in games. Hollywood got the point and started writing for female perspective on the big screen (not always, but it's much better than it used to be), and games need to get to that same point as well. Female characters need more natural depth that is organic to their characters. I don't care whether she's wearing a thong and a butterfly bra or a full suit of armor, it wouldn't address this major issue.

Please get this guy off of this site. I've liked all of their new show selections this year except for this and Creature Caster Masters. One of those seems to have died at least, now it's time to get rid of this crap and fill the void with something a little less shit.
