Wow this was utterly pointless and obvious. Well, i guess we could call this guy whenever we want to say something everyone already has in the most grotesque and silly way possible.
Constant tries at being funny just come off as (obviously) forced, and the humor style doesnt appeal to me at all.
Constructive Criticism : Put more work into what you say and what you do.

Why is it that when we talk about comparing mediums, we only compare video games to film? Film is probably the least interactive medium ever invented. Think about it: even in live theater, the audience participates through applause.

There is a spectrum of interactivity among the artistic mediums. You know what I think the most interactive medium is? Paintings. Looking at a still moment in time for as long as you like, taking in every detail on your own time (hours, if you like), and coming to your own conclusions. Compare that to movies, which force you to absorb things all at once, in real time. Video games are somewhere in between. I remember Modern Warfare 2, seeing the sight of the Washington Monument in ruins, and just staring at it. My squad was shouting for me to follow them, but unlike a movie, I was allowed to look at it on my own time, rather than the director's, and it made the kind of impact that Independence Day never could.

Jimquistion + Escapist Podcast with Yatzee = even more time spent on the escapist.

That was interesting, the theme song was weird, but not bad. I will be watching more.

Dude shut the fuck up. Seriously way to try to discern video-games for trying to legitamize itself as a medium. Trying to become a movie only inhances the non-playtime aspects of a game i.e. writing, storytelling, acting. Screw you, fucking Yahtzee wannabe. I hope ZP, EC, and Movie Bob all tear you a new fat asshole.
Do you really needed to spill a response like that? Plus, your grammar is horrible.
Being blunt isn't going to kill him

It's more like "Hoplessly pandering uggo, attack!"

We don't need any more of this.

The whole "angry at stuff" spiel is being done to death these days. People like AVGN do it fully acknowledging satire, but I can accept that since he was one of the first... or at least first before it was mainstream.

But when people like Jim begin to act seriously, it just gets irritating. Dropping the f-bomb all the time, and pointing out the obvious does not make you insightful.
I don't know, maybe the Escapist thinks this is the kind of "anti-mainstream" thing us gamers are into, but I find this stuff very irritating -- in the yawn-inducing sense.

Awww, boy, I really, really hope this isn't substitution for Lisa. I don't know your preferances but I prefer nice girls to fat guys.
Really, you find a woman slathered in makeup shoving her heaving bosom at viewers more appealing than a rotund man in a suit and tie? Pardon me while I die of shock.

A better idea; what if they exchanged scripts, think his work will be any less or any more appealing when delivered by a woman using sex appeal to sell herself to viewers?

Yeah....
A day late, but are we really still on the "Has tits. Attack!" line of reasoning? I thought we were off that.

OffT: This is the only board anywhere on the webz where I have trouble highlighting and deleting word. It just cuts out and drags the words somewhere I didn't want it. I blame captchas.
Swing and a miss. Go back a few pages and see me elaborate, not that I imagine it matters since it seems you've projected your erroneous assumptions on my words already.

I have a feeling you'll grow and come into your own as you spend more time here and I anxiously await. I was not bored during your video and even though you echoed what I already know, it was still cool to hear. You have good delivery (a few flubs here and there) the glasses were nice (I hate it when people do these videos and their eyes travel back and forth, it's distracting, and I think the mic is a nice touch. There's some clean up but, like I said: growth. Look forward to more, good sir!

For those of you who can't get over the fact that he says fuck about 8 times in the video: get over it. It's just like how some people would emphasise with "dude" or "man" or "like", he's using fuck. It's not overused, and it's not "immature".
I doubt he inserted the word "fuck" to sound funny. I imagine it comes with the accent, from the part of the UK he's from.

I found it to be a little self-indulgent. Say what you like about Yahtzee and Movie Bob, but at least they use a better visual medium than a fat guy attempting to look badass with a pair of aviators making constant (and really distracting) hand gestures the whole time. This guy needs to calm down, stop with the swearing (which just comes off as unintelligent and really not as funny as he was probably hoping) and find something to focus on.
Yahtzee just does this so much better.

I honestly don't know what you just said, but I think you're talking about the music. I didn't say I wasn't a fan of the music, but the combination of music and him talking at the same time was too distracting and annoying. I didn't actually listen to the song so it may very well be an amazing one :D

And just so I'm clear: I won't be watching any future videos of this guy.
I was indeed referring to the music, but I don't blame you for not knowing what I said. I tend to ramble :D Nobuo Uematsu is.. Was the composer for all the old Final Fantasy games from 1 to 9. Jesters of the Moon is Zorn & Thorn's theme in FFIX. That's all! ^_^

I take offence in the last part of your statement, its unfair to stereotype an accent with a swear word - please give me the example accent you were thinking of?

I accept that some accents can be paired with the overuse of words such as the scouse accent with the word "like" but I have never seen a link to a certain accent with swearing and as a member of the UK, surely I would have?

Furthermore, the main reason why I (and possibly many others) are pointing out his seemingly overuse of the word "fuck" is because in his other videos (check page 22/23 of this thread) he makes somewhat intellectually informative videos without swearing once and calmly addresses the audience. If he can do that then, why couldn't he do that now? You're right, he probably uses the word for emphasis, in which case his spoken English skills need improvement as their are many other ways of expressing yourself creatively rather than using the same, and sometimes offensive, word over and over.

Just my two cents, or pence as I'm a Brit.

Yeah...don't like it. And advertising him in that stupid border around the video player tactic made me not like it even more.
You're right! I totally didn't even notice but that advertisement actually made me hate him more. In fact, when I saw that border I immediately characterized him as a pretentious poser. And then I watched his video and was completely verified in my views. Does he honestly think he's cool? He sort of reminds me of Movie Bob, if Movie Bob didn't do any writing, wasn't funny, just stood in front of a microphone swearing, had absolutely no acting ability and wore a pair of unbearably pathetic sunglasses in an attempt to make him look cooler and edgy.

So not Movie Bob, just a trainwreck of a person with a webcam and a bad mic.
