All I have to add to this is my gaming rig (probably worth around £400-500, without the extra hard drives which you don't need)can play any game on high, bet your thinking yeah yeah well yeah if that was all I used it for then I would be an idiot but here's the thing I use my rig for EVERYTHING...
Here's a small list of some of things I do;
* Web browsing/instant messaging
* Word/Excel/Powerpoint/etc. for uni
* Running virtual machines for Oracle and SQL Server for uni work
* Running forensic programs and carrying out forensic investigations (more uni work)
* Building and Compiling Programs for uni
* Carrying out tech support on friends computers both onsite and remotely
* Gaming
* Watching TV (have TV adapter)
There's just a few things I do on my rig but here's the my point, I would still need that £500 computer + peripherals for university and then a gaming rig + tv on top of that? No thanks I'll just use my computer.
