I think i've seen... three of these? >_< (12, 9, and 7)

I'm not much of a movie-goer though, so that was to be expected. I do wonder though... how you would sit with alot of the films that I would possibly put on a top 25 list. Assuming, of course, I would even know what I'd put on there. XD

Good stuff. I suppose you will have to show some of these to me sometime!

(But not the horror ones. I get freaked out too easily. ;_;)

Interesting list. Your coincidence with some of my favorite films (Run Lola Run, Evil Dead II, Sunshine, that's Chinatown baby, M, 7 Samurai, and Rear Window) definitely encourages me to check out more on your list (particularily the Japanese films minus 7 Samurai, in my top three easy). Including The Goodfellas (especially so high) was a bit confusing to me. The movie was good, but there are so many superior mob flicks. You've seen the Godfather movies, right?

Out of your list, I think Le Samouraï, Oldboy, Chinatown, Rear Window, Sunshine, Seven Samurai, Grave of the Fireflies, Young Frankenstein, and Noroi capture my interest the most.

Thanks for commenting, Lucy ^_^
I'm not sure what you'd put in a list of your own though :O
What would be on there do you think ;P

And yes, I will and you will watch the horror films because they're amazing! Though only 2 here are horror, but they're still great ^_^

I have indeed seen The Godfather but (and I know I'll get shit for this) but they just bored me.
They were great films and they were very entertaining in parts but overall, they felt quite boring to me. But, you must know that I only saw The Godfather maybe... 2 years ago after everyone had told me it was the greatest film of all time. It was just overhyped and I was a bit bored but I can see why it's so well loved. Goodfellas was extremely entertaining to me throughout. Joe Pesci's little monologues are enough to make the film for me:

Oh, you haven't seen any of those then? :O
Well certainly give them a viewing. Possibly with Oldboy being the first to watch since it's just pure awesomeness and I'm not really sure how well you'd sit with the rest of them.

hehe. I've seen 3 of those.
It was still a good read, though :p
Run Lola Run sounds quite interesting, though...I think I'll go find it sometime soon :D

Two technical issues:

Le Samourai has two release dates (the title says 1967, the paragraph says 1964).

Also, you say the camerawork in Rear Window never leaves the apartment once, but I'm fairly sure it went outside after the protagonist fell out of his window.

Yeah.

Beyond that, great list. I read the whole thing.

Hell yes for Rear Window! That's my all-time favorite. It's crazy how engaging that movie is despite 95% of it taking place in one room.

I can't comment much otherwise, as I've only seen a total of five movies on your list (Rear Window, The Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Sweeney Todd). Most of them do seem interesting, at least from what you write about them.

Heh, just like Lucy :p
Yeah, if you were to watch any of these... I'd say Run Lola Run seeing as I've yet to meet anyone who didn't like it. Probably the most accessible film here, even though it's still pretty weird >.<

Hey, what's wrong with Japanese films, eh? ;3
It'd be the same as if I posted only American movies here though too

lacktheknack said:
Huh. I didn't even notice that :O
Odd about the Le Samourai one considering I first thought it came out in 1964 but corrected myself quickly. Must have overlooked that part >.<

And yes, I remember that part from Rear Window, but look at any analysis of the film, the first thing they usually mention is that it was shot in that room either mostly or entirely :p

Still, thanks for reading and pointing those out to me ^_^

Ah, well thank you for reading and commenting anyway. Rear Window is an absolutely wonderful film and I'm glad to see so many people here enjoyed it as well ^^
Watch whatever of these films you can though as they're what I'd recommend most often depending on whatever you're looking for. Mostly rather depressing films, however, so be prepared for that >.>

I see no Birth of A Nation on this list. I is dissapoint.

Kidding, enjoyed reading the parts on movies I actually knew anything about. Which was like three of them. Also the nekkid anime chick. That was enjoyable too.

Honestly, I have never fully watched any of these films. The ones I've heard of, though, which made up about 1/3 this list, I would think were worthy of their positions. Bravo.

Time to expand my waiting list for movies.

Huh. Didn't think anyone here would mention Birth of a Nation. An amazing film, yes but I didn't really enjoy it to be honest <..>
But yes, yay naked Kusanagi :D
Unless you meant Tima who is a child >.>

As much as I'm surprised that people have seen some of these films, I'm even more surprised at the amount of people who've only seen a couple here >.>
Well, thank you for posting and reading, anyway. Love to be one to expand another's movie lists ;D

It's odd that I've only seen 3 of these films. Still, t'was enjoyable.

Also, how has this still not been mentioned/fixed?

While some may bee fantastic films, if they aren't something I want to watch again and again or really films that I find enjoyable, they won't be seen on this list.

Oh wow. I've been lurking here for quite a while and reading your reviews, however I finally will post now.
Very good list. I'm surprised someone else besides me knows what "Noroi" and "Le Samourai"
I haven't seen things like Grave of the Fireflies though nor have I seen Metropolis but seeing this list, I intend to. Thanks!
