Jobs you never thought you'd have

I recently got a job for a horse breeding company owned by a friend of mine from high school and it's called Pantheon Arabians. I work on and maintain the website (which I'm currently building actually but a bad shoulder injury is slowing me down) so thankfully I don't see any....well you know. Of all the types of companies out there I never expected to work for a horse breeder, I usually work as a computer repairman. It's something that when I tell my friends they laugh and usually make a horrible joke.

So memebers of this fine website, where did you work that you never ever thought you would?

A Tutor.. and highly enjoyed it.. considering for a long time i was highly unsocial/shy person thinking EVERYONE was judging me in the world.. so i never thought id be able to handle a teaching job of any kind but oddly enough i was always appreciated and highly praised as a tutor so go figure.

I never thought I'd be a restaurant Santa but that's what I did this Christmas. Kids sat on my lap and I made some money. Never thought I'd be doing that.

I worked at Target once and I got this title.

Senior Shelves Manager.

That's right I stacked shelves. Also I cleaned the isles and kept things in order. So that title should be extended.

Also I hated it, the section I worked in was Manchester! Bed covers, pillows and other household crap!

I never thought I would EVER get a job there. I did work experience and where do I get, TARGET! And after I finished I was happy and then one of the workers suggested that I work there and I told my parents that and they MADE me send my resume in...

But I guess I agreed since I needed the money.

That was a few years ago because I quit due to school...and now I am almost broke.

I guess I took it for crap.

Well I guess they did announce on the loud speakers I stole (I didn't!) cake in the staff room and everybody heard it...the girl workers felt sorry for me. D:

- worked at juvenile detention
- been a Chinese linguist in the army
- been a 20 year old female security guard who got sent to seedy Latin nightclubs to pat down large men for concealed weapons
- worked at a bio-pharmaceutical company that makes oral HIV tests and cryogenic wart removers
- worked for Halliburton doing boring easy crap work for tons of money

And now I work at Gearbox after a brief stay at id, lol.

I think you could say no one excecpts the jobs they have....when your in school youre not really aware of whats out there

I used to work at Qdoba and I used to clean tables at a restaurant. It isn't very exciting, but neither are jobs I thought I would have.

It's a stinker of a job, but the pay is good.

I've never made a lot of money doing any job. I still don't, but I'm self-employed and enjoy doing what I do.

Ok, I think you are going to have to explain that one to me/us. How did you get this job? How did all of the included parties think it was an ok idea.

I got hired with the Allentown Faigrounds Police like, not long after I got out of the army. They more or less hired me on the spot, maybe because of my military service, but I dunno. I only worked there a couple of months. It didn't pay that much, and I didn't feel like going through training and getting sprayed in the face with pepper spray before I could get permission to carry a gun. On the plus side, some of the guys down at Latin Heat remembered me from Spanish class and were very nice! And whenever the Easton police came in and raided, I got to go home early!
