Nah, it's not inconsistency. It's just believing that society intrinsically has winners and losers, determined completely meritocratically, and therefore the people in shit jobs deserve shit jobs, and the rich deserve to be rich and not have to give back to the society which enabled their richness. If people had the skills and guts and smarts to not be in shit jobs, they wouldn't be in shit jobs. It is okay for shit jobs to be shit jobs, instead of trying to make them not-shit jobs, because losers don't deserve better anyway and trying to elevate them is just diverting winningness from winners to losers.
