In a piece of leaked audio Joe Manchin admits to financiers that he's under a lot of pressure to eliminate the filibuster because progressives are only ever right about the state of bipartisanship in the country, so he asks the people who bankroll both him and them to pressure certain Republicans who will be working for them post-retirement to flip on the Jan. 6 commission so he can say bipartisanship works.

Thus proving that bipartisanship only works through economic coercion.

What a contemptible little man he is.
I wish I could say I didn't vote for him. I didn't in the primary. But in the general, well, maybe you should see who ran against him. Definitely a lesser of two evils vote.

Joe doesn't want his party going overboard with the progressive wing of his party, he knows he won't be elected again if the filibuster is removed. He is from a red state.

A right-wing corporate democrat begging a bunch of centrists, and greedy billionaires to please ask fascists to maybe accept money in exchange for a few civil rights for people of color.

We have truly entered late-stage capitalism.

I get a twofer in two threads :D

Joe Manchin went to Texas right after meeting with the Texas dems who are breaking quorum to fundraise with Texas republicans and oil executives. You know, the people he needs to ask to coerce "moderate" republicans into being bipartisan.
