And, as usual, I'm the only one disappointed and sad about this, because I'm the only one who sees Whedon as a hack with no sense of characterization, plot, or pacing.
God dammit!

First of all, some intense scrutiny.

Might want to fix that up.

With that out of the way, i recall talk of Hulk being turned into a TV series instead of getting another movie, but the thought of Spidey getting a TV series or the X-Men getting a proper TV series exites me.
Got it. Thanks!

Actually, my money would be on a TV series based on S.H.I.E.L.D.. The agency's nature could set episodes anywhere in the world, involve any of a number of Marvel B-listers who could either be discarded or incorporated in later movies if they proved popular, and could "play" in the Marvel universe without having to shake the continuity with every minor choice.

That said, Whedon's been involved with Runaways in the past, and it wouldn't break my heart to see that as a TV series either.

Whedon: "So, you two think you're worthy to become writers in the Whedonverse?"
Seth Green: "Ohhhh...wow...you...really call it that...."
- Robot Chicken

Heh I dunno, believe it or not I haven't seen The Avengers yet - not because I didn't want to, but just because at this point it almost takes a guarenteed sexual encounter to get me to go see a movie in theatres these days...think the last one I saw in theatres was The Dark Knight - but everyone raves about it as being gods gift to comic-book movies. So if he didn't once, I don't see why he can't do it again.

...A legit Avengers live action series? Like pretty much our good old superhero cartoons taken to the next level? Yes please. With tie ins with the currently established "live-action" Marvel universe?

Continunity! boom.

What have Whedon to deserve such bounty?
I swear DVS, sometimes your jokes make me facepalm to a point where my head feels Thor.

Maybe it will have Pym in it?

The best thing about it is that they could have the cast from the movies do cameos and stuff.

Tis simple.

Make a billion dollar movie.

When you reached the big B in film making, a studio will do anything to keep a director in place.

My prediction on the TV Show?

Hero's for Hire

Think about it. If done right it has a strong ensemble cast. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing. Complete with the Wheedon mandatory strong female characters, and as a bonus one of the coolest and most credible black heroes in comics.

On top of that it is mainly a street level, civilian clothed property. You can get away with doing a good show with minimal gimickry, efx budgets and insane colorful costumes. So it would be reasonably affordable to make. Standard buildings, standard clothes, lots of martial arts and action.

The property has a huge revolving door potential for recurring B, C and D list Marvel characters. It could easily farm decades of Marvel books for obscure villains and cool extra heroes. Moon Knight, Paladin, etc.

Two of the main cast are recognized as members of the Avengers in the source materials. Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You can just walk them back and forth between movie and tv. Possibly the only property outside of Star Trek with such potential.

Pym already has his own movie in the works. Ant Man is in production now.

And if the test footage they showed at Comic Con is any indication, it will be awesome. I can only pray that Ultron is the main villain.

And seconding the idea about a Runaways TV show, but only if they split from canon after Dead End Kids and go in a different direction. Because I sure as hell don't wanna see Rock Zombies get an adaptation.

And Whedon said unto the internet "Fear not, for I shall lead you to the promised land"
And the internet rejoiced.

I'm hoping for Runaways. Whedon likes the series and even wrote a few issues. I'd hope the show would be better than those issues, but anything where the Punisher gets sucker punched by a 12 year old girl can't be all bad.

Anyone want to start placing bets on what fan-favorite character he kills off in the Avengers sequel?

That is the other thing Whedon is known for, right? Killing off beloved characters in heart-wrenching ways?

ALSO:

Yes. Yes I am.

I dunno, considering the movie is based on "To steal an Antman" it could be really Lang-centric.
There still could be Ultron but if it's "Scott comes and cleans up Pym's mess" the movie... I won't be super pleased but I doubt Edgar after all the re-scripts, love and attention he's given this film will let it be anything but good.

Considering by the time Avengers Two rolls around Pym is going to be way past his prime and or retired I wouldn't be surprised if Whedon knocked him off.

I am as excited for this as I am for the Ant Man movie.

I never thought I, in my life, would live to see Ant Man made into a proper film, the internet could not contain the amount of rejoicing I did at this, for he is my favourite Avenger.
