By now they know he has a large fan base, but then they're so picky with how high his ratings have to be. But that's just how FOX rolls. I'll never understand it, but will always look forward to whatever Joss throws my way.
I remember reading somewhere that in order to get the rights to make Serenity with Universal, he had to agree to make one more show with FOX. Thus, Dollhouse. But don't quote me on that.

Firefly is my favorite Sci-Fi show ever, it's just fun. I never got Star Wars or Star Trek fandom until I saw Firefly, now I understand how people can love a show so much.

Dollhouse varied but when it moved was really good, I actually think cancellation was good for it as they had to move things along. The future they had was interesting to me as it really pushed the concept forward.
