Don't panic! Due to current events, I joined this RP. Stranger gave me his blessing. This isn't any sort of troll post, I promise you! Horatio's gonna be around for awhile (or not, depending on how everyone reacts to him...).

Name: Horatio "Joey" Dunst
Age: 22
Gender: Male

Mastery: Earthshaper
Rank: Youngling

Appearance: Dirty and disheveled would be a possible series of words used to describe the boy. He's about 5'10. Tan skin on a skinny figure. S'got strong arms though. Brown eyes. An unkempt bush of bouncy, brunette curls sit atop his head. Dirt marks and scars go hand in hand on decorating the boy's body, naturally. A sprinkle of dark freckles are noticeable along the bridge of his nose and cheeks. Hands and feet are usually covered in wrappings or some sort.

Demeanor: He's a shady figure. Can keep up in a conversation, but it would be wise to not trust his words. He's had to lie, cheat, and steal to get to where he is today, and it's what he knows best. Friends were few and far between for the boy, yet he's managed to get by. But, he's reckless also. Foolishly so. His life experiences have made him careless towards the direction his life goes in. Along with the numerous ways he's been used; he knows of his expendable status, he just doesn't care at this point.

History: There's been no shortage of orphans inhabiting that island the mages were pushed to so long ago. However, there were the young ones that managed to find the righteous path, to fully embrace their abilities and to fall in line with all the other budding mages at the Academy. Joey never found this path. Whether it were an unfortunate circumstance, or just out of some sort of spite, young Joey never stepped foot behind the massive walls of the Academy. He hung around the grungy humans more than he did his own kind. Used mostly, but never fully accepted. He made his living as a simple thief in a quaint little village outside of the Academy, swiping small trinkets and currencies from tourists and unsuspecting lodgers. Never anything too big or attention grabbing. He learned early of his own earthly abilities, and learned even faster of all the hatred towards his kind. So he'd try his best to keep that part of himself under wraps. If he'd get lucky, some odd job would fall into his lap, maybe help move things off a freighter, or play as an extra hand in a shakedown.

One day there went out a call for volunteers, from some very powerful mages. Naturally, the humans around him quickly shut out the opportunity, but it really seemed like they were looking more for a guy of his stature. With his special sort of abilities. And, they were offering money. Joey had no choice but to inquire the position further, he would've been stupid not to. He doesn't remember much of what they told him, a lot of that information went in through one ear and out the other. What he did know, however, was of the hole in space itself that they wanted him (and a selection of others) to go through. With a careless shrug, he jumped through without a complaint. He made that jump five months ago. The portal closed at their backs, and Joey wasn't aware if there was a way back. The people he came with all vanished; he deemed them all dead. As far as he knew, he was stuck here. In retrospect, maybe he should've paid more attention to the Prime Minister, and got his money up front before jumping through sketchy portals.

Joey definitely called this place a blessing. He didn't know why the castle was out here, or what it stood for, but he also didn't care. What did know, however, was that the place was mostly vacant, and he had a place to rest that wasn't somewhere in a tree or in the dirt. Though, he would favor the dirt over a tree, at least then he'd have some sort of security. Still, he was quite giddy as he mulled over his find.

"Never before have I seen so much brass, steel, and silver in one place!" He thought from the comfy bed he lounged in, taking up one of the castle's many upper floor rooms. But, he was right. All the ornate cutlery and candelabras he could get his hands on, and even some weapons went unattended and ripe for the pillaging. All of it, just left out in the open. And he hadn't even managed to explore the entire castle yet! "Just how much more stuff can I find here?"

To prove these things to himself, he presented himself the solid iron dagger he found a day ago, holding it over his face to admire it fully. A peculiar weapon, it was somewhat ornate in appearance, with a ring adorning each end of the cross guard. "Came with it's own leather scabbard n' everything!" He sighed in contemplation, the dagger wielded hand plopping into the mattress. "If I ever get out of this crimson skied world, I swear, I gonna take every damn thing that ain't nailed down in this place." For once, the boy showed some optimism. He actually thought he might've had a chance at getting back to his own world.

But then, he was ripped from his glowing thoughts of moneymaking. There were noises coming from outside of his room. Human noises. There was a shout at first, not loud enough to be within close proximity, but just enough to get a rise out of the rogue mage. He cursed at the occurrence. "Thought I was alone. Hmph." He could've just stayed in bed, and waited for it to blow over, but his curiosity got the best of him. He stood, and collected his things. Along with the dagger he had a tattered brown shawl he'd wrap around his neck, and a small sack of pebbles and gravel, which served as his line of defense up until that point.

Entering the hall, there was a clear line of sight to the first floor, barred only by the second floor's banister. "It's certainly impressive..." Bounced up towards him. That was certainly a different voice. Were there more people in the building? "Guess I might as well go introduce myself." He headed for the stairs, and proceeded down them. His bare feet only covered in mangy wrappings, he kept his footsteps light as he casually made his way down. He produced a gold piece he had from before stepping foot into the new land, and began to have it dance betwixt his fingers as he stepped into the main hall.

The biggest door at the end of the hall, and there stood a individual at its threshold. His back was turned. And there seemed to be other able bodies already exploring the new room. Joey couldn't help but smirk at the situation. Closer and closer he swaggered up to the new individuals, and decided to make his presence known. "Seems you kids are a little far from home, ain't 'cha?" He announced, making sure his voice echoed throughout the tall room.

"Seems you kids are a little far from home, ain't 'cha?"

Drew jumps back and faced the new presence. "Who the hell...?!" he had electricity arcing up and down his arms, ready to shoot before he calmed down. That didn't mean he let the electricity go away, he was just in a more relaxed position. "As I was saying... who the hell are you?" It was what he said that stood out to him. That vague reference of distance. Maybe he knew something... or maybe he was one of the natives, and Drew was just overcomplicating it. "And while we're at it, where are you from? You don't seem like the type to live in a place like this."

"Here you go, you can have one!" Fei sat up in the water, dropping it on the water.

"Hey Fei! Nice flowers you got there...but I think we might want to get going."
"Aww... sorry, I got to go. It was nice meeting you, though!"
Fei decided to see how fast she could swim to the shore, now that she had gotten the hang of it. She took a deep breath and dove a few feet under the water, enough for her wings to propel her. It was so cool: she was basically flying underwater! Well, it was a little different, because she had to cut the water forward, and then push the water back with her wings perpendicular. She decided to try it when she got back on land, see if she flew. She didn't.

With a few extra garlands of flowers Fei splashed up onto the beach, stopping to pick up a few interesting rocks before skipping over to Seth and Raven. "Look what I maaaade" she gave one to Seth before offering one expectantly to Raven, holding up the bright flowers.

"I'm thinking that someone who has some weight to throw around is going to show up. Its...well, call it a gut feeling, but when someone in power where I come from decides they want to be somewhere at a particular hour of the day, you make sure you are not there at that hour of the day." Seth said, keeping a bit more of a stern eye looking around once again.

"Those that decided they could were often corrected. I get the same feeling from here, since this place is so....well, normal. Course, if you want we could just stay here out in the open and show them we don't have to give a damn about them. Seems Fei plans on going with that approach." Seth continued with a small grin.

As Fei skipped forward, it seemed that she had gotten the hang of her wings in the water. Seth wasn't sure how that worked, exactly, but it only made sense that she would find a way to work with her favorite element before trying to dabble in the air. However, she had brought up some very interesting flowers.

"I see you met an interesting someone, and made some very nice little gifts! Thank you Fei. Guessing your friend got you these?" Seth said, taking the garland and giving it a smell. It was a nice fragrance, kind of...well, to say unusual would be normal in this case, but Seth went with it anyways. There was a calmness about them though, and he draped them over himself.

"Hope you had some fun, cause I think we got more to see than the lake. What do you guys think? Castle next, or just wander off? Personally...since it isn't...dark yet? I think a bit more exploring might be nice." Seth suggested. He slightly secretly hoped they could catch a glance on what might have caused everything to run, but he also wanted to make sure everyone else wouldn't pay for his curiosity.

As Fei had swam to the shore, the water spirit had kept up with her to the edge, and waved as she finally made her way out, before slipping back into the waters. The lake and surrounding edges were very still now.

With the new man having approached the other mages, just as suddenly the glowing door of runes had stopped going off. With the sudden stop, the cats all suddenly seemed to take this as a sign to scatter, and split into the different rooms. Once again, a string of curses, general rumblings, and other such words were heard behind the door before some work seemed to begin being done behind it.

"GOD DAMNED MESS! Going to have to work on this ALL OVER AGAIN. And something is going around my DAMN CASTLE AGAIN. Won't even introduce themselves, the extremely rude bastards, EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!" Another long stream of curses, general ramblings, and clattering of metal was heard behind the main hall door, but the runes and other marks on the doors had stopped glowing, and it seemed to be more of just a specially designed door than anything magical.

In the meantime, one cat had returned to the mages, and sat in front of the door almost expectantly. The light grey cat offered little in the ways of different, and once it seemed that the mages were distracted from the door by the newcomer, the cat began to wind its way around their legs.

"Well if they are supposedly as tough as Iron *****, I like our chances," Raven told Seth as she stayed close to him while waiting for Fei to come out of the water.

The scene was surreal; a winged creature emerging from the depths of the lake. Creature probably wasn't the right word. Still, the Nightshade regarded the image as just par for the course, both in context of this new world and in the young in spirit nature of the Hydromancer. As she came over bearing flowers and stuff she seemed to have gathered from below the surface of the lake, Raven gave Fei a skeptical look before slowly accepting the offered garland.

Upon taking it, she almost didn't know what to do with the wreath. "I don't think I've worn flowers anywhere, ever," Raven remarked. She just held it limply in her hand while she answered Seth's question. "I'm guess I'd be up for a little more exploring," she answered. It was surprising given her usual lack of physical activity. I don't think I've ever still had this much energy after so much walking. "There will be plenty of time to go inside the castle when the red sky goes black."

"Don't kill iiiit" Fei pouted, snatching the flowers back. "You just put it on. Like this." She did a little jump, tossing the flowers over Raven's head. She threw it a little too hard, and it ended up more like a crown. Fei burst out into giggles, pleased with Raven's unexpected appearance. "Now you are the king and queen of flowers, and I can be the princess!!! If i get to name these flowers (I hope I can name the flowers cause the water spirit said no one else has seen them yet) I'm gonna call them something with everyones name maybe, what do you think? Maybe we can name EVERYTHING here, like explorers!" she pulled out a notebook from her bag, and started to draw a map. It really only included the first building, the lake, the village and the castle, but she was proud of it. On the next page, she wrote some stuff about the flower: the color and where she found it.

All at once an idea came to Alexander. Whoever the lord was had been watching them from the beginning, and this house was essentially under constant surveillance, and like a switch had been flipped he immediately kneeled and bowed his head before speaking. He had never been spoken to by anyone of royalty but the few times lords had passed through their city had made enough of an impression on him when combined with his father's tales as to what should be done.

"Forgive the intrusion and rudeness lord. I am Alexander Smith and we are travelers from far beyond your borders, we are not used to this land as of now. We meant no disrespect."

The robes made it obvious, the fierce crackle of electricity only confirmed Horatio's suspicions. "These guys're mages." He thought. "Not the ones I came in with, though." He got a good look at the spooked mage that addressed him. He liked the look of his robe. "That sort of blue would work well against the shadows..." It would've been better than the ragged hood he owned. "...Who the hell are you?" The mage clarified, breaking Joey from his thoughts. He also didn't give the young Earthshaper enough breath to answer before he assaulted him with more questions. "And while we're at it, where are you from? You don't seem like the type to live in a place like this." The mage's tone made Joey's smirk lower, if only momentarily. But then, it came back.

"I'm...just a weary traveler, who just needed a place to rest his head. Luckily, I managed to find this place a few days back, and trust me, it's been my base of operations since." He raised into a smirk once again. "I'm sure we're from the same place...the same world, at least." He caught the coin he mindlessly fiddled with, letting the information sink in. "We probably got sent here by the same guy too. Threw us in...didn't really tell us how to get back out."

"GOD DAMNED MESS!" Rang out from beyond a door, indicating the mystery owner wanted to scream some more. Joey scoffed. "He wasn't making all this noise a few day ago. Sounds like you guys might've got his attention proper." One of the other mages fell to the ground, and started begging for forgiveness. "So that's Alexander, huh?" He wasn't personally addressed, but it wasn't hard to pick up the information. "Yessss...I'm beginning to think we're here for the same reasons." His smirk grew into a smile. "And something tells me you guys have a lead on a way out."

"I'm sure we're from the same place...the same world, at least."

I knew it. Drew thought to himself, letting the magic die down. The new mage's behavior certainly didn't seem threatening. Strange, but not threatening. After listening to his response, he spoke up "So the Prime Minister sent in a few other mages. Obvious. Clearly not from the Academy. But unfortunately, we don't have any idea how to get out, either. Tell me you at least know what's been going on..."

The line of inquiry would have to wait, as the owner (Drew presumed it was the owner, at least) of the castle started shouting and swearing. "Uh... I'll let you handle that, Alexander." Drew wasn't sure what was bothering him more: the mage in front of him or the shouting behind him. As the grey cat moved towards him, he started shaking his leg, trying to shoo it away. "Go on! Git!" He wasn't particularly fond of cats, which made it annoying whenever Fei asked if they could get one. Well, at least it isn't trying to kill us...

Cale turned to the new arrival but before he could speak, Drew had and along with the owner of the castle. Alexander went to the ground but Cale ignored it and looked to the new arrival.

"And something tells me you guys have a lead on a way out."

"That depends on you, I'm afraid. How can we trust you? We barely know you and here you are asking if we have a way out. You could be another test for all we know." Cale shrugged the man off and turned to the source of the loud shouting. Drew could talk to the man but Cale focused more on the mysterious owner of the castle. While Alexander went to his knees Cale didn't feel inclined to do so.

"Excuse us for the intrusion. Show us yourself so that we may tell you our quest. It is of prime importance." Cale spoke aloud so that the owner might hear them.

How can we trust you? Asked one of the mages. It repeated through Horatio's head as the mage brought his attention towards the disembodied voice. He let out a low, rolling chuckle. His smile seemed a lot less sincere.

"Trust. Ohhhhh trust. Trust is such a...human concept. Primitive. Unnecessary. We as mages shouldn't have to rely on such lowly beliefs." He stepped closer. The inquisitive grey cat meandered from Drew to Joey, and the Earthshaper knelt to pet it.

"Right? I think so." It purred under his touch. And yet, his smile lowered as he glanced back to Drew. It sounded like he wasn't out of this universe just yet. "That being said, I thought you folk would've known more than I do. If the Prime Minister told me anything of importance, I must've gone and forgot it. It's been awhile since then anyhow. Five whole months, to be exact. I'm assuming you kids just got here?" He asked, rising to his feet.

The water from the lake that was still present on the flowers slowly seeped into Raven's midnight hair as the garland sat upon her head. As the cool sensation hit her scalp, she was debating in her mind whether or not to just shake off the event as yet another example of Fei's youthful ignorance of her other companions stylings, or to tie her to a rock and send her back down to the bottom of the lake. There were positive arguments for both, but Fei's rambling quickly petered out as she went to her notebook and began drawing things.

I could do it. I could just send her back down there. Be a lot quieter, just me and Seth...and Silvana? Forgot she was here, she's been almost invisible. I guess that's proper proof she's a Nightshade. She looked back at Seth who could only grin at the exuberance shown by the Hydromancer, before looking back at Fei, who had flipped to a new page. She did say we were the king and queen. At least she knows enough to say that...I guess it doesn't feel too bad. Almost kind of nice.

"Do we need her to find anything else?" she asked Seth quietly. "I pity the poor creature that she calls a...'snuggle...phant' or something similar."

Seth grinned as Fei went about throwing the flowers on Raven. It was a very nice touch, and the flowers in their own unique way seemed to compliment Raven's typical dark cloak and hair very well.
"I don't think I've worn flowers anywhere, ever."

"Seems that Fei has you covered in that regard. Looks nice." Seth complimented, and then went back to looking around. He glanced back at Fei as she suddenly took off with her ideas...again. Always with ideas, and plans, and everything. It was a wonder how she had a brother who at times was stiffer than most rocks.

"I'm gonna call them something with everyones name maybe, what do you think? Maybe we can name EVERYTHING here, like explorers!"

"I am not sure if we get dibs on naming everything. But this seems pretty special, so you should get to name it. But how would you name it after us? Or do you just mean us here? Cause then the name might be a lot shorter." Seth said, taking a few more steps away from the lake.

"Well, if you can walk and write we should maybe get going. If not, I guess someone is gonna have to carry you..." Seth continued wryly.

"Do we need her to find anything else? I pity the poor creature that she calls a...'snuggle...phant' or something similar."

"Well, at least she is trying to keep track. Good to not be working on...this world all the time. Besides, I don't think we could leave her out here. Something is going to be on its way...." Seth faded off as a group came into vision. A rather big group.

Earth Golems. Big ones, probably around 16 feet tall, with thick stone limbs covered in a collection of mosses, grass, and just general foliage. They slowly stomped past the treeline, seeming to drift past it without any problems. While the golems were indeed impressive, it seemed that they were not pleased with the mages being there. One approached Silvana as she was closest to the path, and seemed to growl.

Well, growl wouldn't be the right word, as it was more just the sound of stone grinding against stone, as they didn't seem to have anything to say. As the several stone golems fanned out around the lake. Following them were a group of spirits of the forest, their vines and leaves sliding around them as they almost seemed to glide across the ground towards the water, a not as large form but still towering seven feet.

More and more Spirits seemed to come to the lake all at once, some of which stopped at the mages now. Some water spirits, earth spirits, forest spirits, and even a spirit of what seemed to be complete light, and a spirit of complete darkness were there. All drifted around the mages, rather than going to the lake that the others seemed so interested in being at.

Seth couldn't help but notice the lack of fire among the group, but decided this was far from an area to put any kind of fire, especially if they had to go through the woods to get there. Looking at the...growling spirits, he couldn't help but offer a small shrug at Raven, and look at Silvana who had been approached first.
[hr]

"Mmm...The waters are...different today. Is there something going on? Someone nearby who has never been here before? Perhaps they were friendly...."

Silvana heard the voice of what could be considered a child getting closer. It was quiet, almost missed through the grinding of the nearby Rock Golem, which seemed to almost irritate the golem even more, as it seemed to try to ground the rocks together more, moving more joints and stones together.

[hr]
[hr]

After Alexander knelt down, things suddenly went quiet in the other room. The sound of a few metal pieces being tossed around, until finally a few steps could be heard coming up to the door. With a few clicks and an odd whirring noise, the doors shifted, and then were tossed open.

What greeted the mages was a tall, red armored man. With grey hair messily falling from his head, and a shortened grey beard to match, the man looked surprisingly good for how old the hair made him seem. Standing at around 5'9", the armor gave him a built up appearance. The man also carried a staff, which seemed out of place seeing as how he likely had no problem standing on his own without the staff. The staff itself was decorated with many gems and items, near the top having some runes covering the top. The man regarded the newcomers to his castle, and grinned.

"Gods be damned, I didn't think you were right outside. Usually the ladies would let me know if someone was coming by. Seems they have decided to abandon their duties today, which USUALLY isn't a damned problem, but the damn witches seemed to have either found something to go toy with, or are SHY, which is a damned joke in itself." The man said, waving to Alexander to try and ask him to rise without saying as such. He then noted Joey, and pointed at the mage.

"Now YOU have been especially rude. I'm not even sure if I should feed YOU, skulking around MY castle like some kind of sewer rat that can't be bothered to properly introduce itself. But, perhaps your newfound....colleagues, can convince me otherwise....if they feel like it, of course!"

To those standing closes, as the man spoke something very obvious was wrong with the man's mouth as he spoke. Possibly sharpened teeth? Fangs even? Something was obviously off about them.

"NOW....What exactly brings you to my humble castle? Don't mind the mess, I've had a bit of a run in with a woman who seems to want to run around stomping on things as of late, and I couldn't be bothered to fix everything right now. Too many things to work on. Can you imagine I have almost perfected getting this world to work with another one? Its about damn time, I think! Think a couple thousand years would provide some insight? NO, and you are a fool for thinking so!"

With a small wave, the man invited the mages along to enter the large room. It was filled with a large collection of mirrors, gears, globes, and other odd gizmos and collections. That which wasn't seeming filled with mechanical projects or items was filled with items in tubes, or vials. There did seem to be one particular area of the room filled with bones, weapons, and other relics which didn't all seem to belong together.

"I'd ask ya to take a seat, but as you can see I only have one chair, and to be honest the damned thing can get uncomfortable. More for concentrating on work. I'm sure the ladies will have a good dinner ready later this evening, if ya fancy to stay. Course, I don't give a damn if you need to get going either, cause this world always seems to be in a hurry for something."

Drew was about to address the fact that apparently another group had gone in 5 months ago, but those thoughts were interrupted by the newest arrival. "Well... that's something..." he muttered to himself as the man started rambling on about various things. Drew turned back to their new companion, smirking and saying "Keep your hands to yourself. We don't want any trouble."

They walked into the room and Drew was immediately captivated by the items on display. He couldn't help himself, going towards the complex-looking machine and examining it. "Did you make all of these?" he asked as the man sat down. He took a look at some of the vials before returning to the gadgets. Once again, the way this guy was talking, combined with the way he looked, got Drew's attention and made him speak up, his eyes still fixed on the knickknacks. "You keep mentioning 'this world'. As if there's more than one. Combined with your own appearance, I have to ask... you aren't from around here, are you?"

He stopped himself, turning around to face their host, remembering his thing about manners. "Oh I'm sorry. How rude of me. We haven't even gotten your name. I'm Drew. And you are...?"

The armored mage led them inside a sprawling room with various rooms and machines by the looks of it. The man was a bit old but nonetheless intimidating because of his armored appearance and his staff. Cale wondered how much power this man wielded because by the look and feel of the place, the energy seemed to all come from this man or his staff. Cale looked around and gazed at certain tools and mechanisms before turning to the host when Drew introduced himself.

"We are mages sent by the Prime minister. There are others as well and we seek shelter." Cale said, stating what the man had asked. "If you would allows us a few rooms it would most helpful to our cause. In exchange maybe you have a task for us to do."

Silvana was startled by the large group of spirits that appeared and traveled past them. Mostly because she'd been facing the lake and the spirits approached her from behind. She hadn't been expecting one of them to make noise at her, but it seemed to leave her alone aside from that. She just watched as they went past her, impressed by the amount of spirits there, paying mostly attention to the darkness ones.

And then she heard a voice, something else she hadn't been expecting. A childlike voice. "Well, you're not incorrect. We are friendly." She looked around to see where the voice was coming from exactly.

Alexander stood when the man had bid him to and followed the others into the room.

"We seek aid and information. We are not from here and our homeland has been afflicted with a magical storm which destroys all in its path and is growing. Our task is to stop this storm, perhaps you have heard of something like this by chance?" He said as he carefully studied everything into the room, walking over to one mechanism to examine it more closely. The craftsmanship was impeccable from what he could tell. Then again, that made sense given where he was.

"HAH! Rude on both our ends, it seems. You would likely need my name as well. I am called Edgar, and these and indeed my devices. They do all kinds of things! Some incredibly pleasant, others nonsensical, and some that I am still trying to get working JUST right. That one over there is actually a key. Works kind of like an automatic crank. You plug it in, wind it up, and then it proceeds to unlock the door. Wind it too much, or not enough, and it won't open the door, so you have to know the amount of cranks. Ingenious, right?" The man chatted at Drew, then to catch his second question.

"Oh, this world? Yes, I imagine I'm not quite a native to this place. However, I ended up here such a long time ago that I've kinda grown on the place. I mean, I didn't look like this when I first got here! Looked quite a bit younger and neater, though the ladies so far haven't felt the need to complain about it. Then again, I think they like my older look."

It was then that he heard Cale's explanation, and laughed.

"A Prime Minister? What an...interesting statement. Seeking shelter is of no problem, of course. I have quite a few rooms that I might be able to introduce to you later. Of course, I will need more of an explanation of your 'cause', as I obviously have my own things to worry about as far as what I should be doing in case I get angry guests coming to my door. Especially if you caused noise before getting here."

Leaning back in the odd chair, the man regarded the cat which had followed them into the room as well. Adjusting his position in the chair, he reached into one of his pockets and tossed a small treat to the cat, which it caught and nibbled on.

"Course, my hospitality might also rely on what kind of company you keep, and so far two of you told me your name, and two of you have yet to introduce yourselves despite speaking to me, or wandering my castle."

It was then that Alexander asked his question, and Edgar leaned back in his chair again to seemingly think.

"Aid and information? Seems that is all everyone wants these days. Stuff is so damned expensive all the time. But, as for a growing storm, I couldn't really say what would be causing that. As you can see, the weather is pretty...flat around here. Not sure if that is to my advantage or disadvantage. But, I imagine there are some things that might have the answer. Course, getting them to talk about it without trying to kill you is a real trick." Edgar said, standing up. "But I like you, Alexander. You showed some proper respect, and I would like to think that stands for something in this damn world. See anything you would like to see used? They are all very...durable. And unique."

"Oh, so there is a guest here! I wonder if perhaps they would be willing to partake in some of the rituals? The lake needs to be kept cleansed..." As Silvana turned to try and find the voice, a small boy who seemed to be largely just white. The small amount of hair, the clothes, even the eyes were just white.

"Do you know any rituals? They would speed up everything quite a bit. If not, then I would suggest you go, before the other spirits change their mind about what they want of you here."

Horatio was hesitant to make any sort of reply, mostly due to the sense of astonishment he took on as the red armored one ushered the young mages into his sanctuary. "Sweet Dorro...I've hit the motherload!" He thought with a wild grin, spinning around several times to try and take in every little gadget, trinket, and gizmo that inhabited the room's innumerable sufaces. He tittered gleefully as he brushed his hand against random things, itching to just stuff the smallest thing in one of his pockets and make a run for it. There was some disappointment, however.

The grey bearded mage didn't immediately attack anyone, and in fact was fairly hospitable to his young guests. "Aww damn. Well, maybe he still might. At least then I could make my looting look justifiable!" If Drew (as the mage introduced himself as) were anything to go by, these weren't the cool, take-what-you-want, to-hell-with-the-world type of mages that he would've preferred. And to outright steal in front of them would only leave a bad taste in their mouths (and most likely get him overpowered and overtaken by a group of mages much more powerful than he was).

"Keep your hands to yourself. We don't want any trouble." The Airshifter's words echoed through his head. It sounded like he would have to be on his best behavior for the moment. He sighed. "What does some of this stuff even do? And how much would it sell for...?" As he started guesstimating prices, the crimson covered host broke him from his thoughts. "...and two of you have yet to introduce yourselves despite speaking to me, or wandering my castle." Joey spun on a heel to face the others.

"Ah, um," Joey cleared his throat, and straighten his posture. "Apologies, Lord Edgar. My name is Horatio Dunst." He introduced himself with a quaint bow. "Call me Joey. Or "Raysh", if ya feeling like a cheeky git." He rose, and put on a bit of a sour face. He never did like that second nickname. "I would've made myself known earlier, but up until today, I assumed the place to be vacant. I've only used one of the rooms for rest, and hadn't made the effort to wander deeper into the castle...until today, that is. Again, I apologize." He bowed again.

"I was sent here on a task separate to these four, but performed by the same Prime Minister. I'm...uhh, not entirely sure why I was sent here (it's been awhile since I was briefed), but I know I can't get out on my own (and, neither can these guys, by the sound of it). You can come and go as you please, right? Could you help us get back to where we came from?" He asked the Red Lord.

Seth's one comment did more then enough to assuage Raven's misgivings about Fei's lei of flowers now atop her head. If he liked them, they could stay...for now.

"Besides, I don't think we could leave her out here. Something is going to be on its way...."

Raven was set to answer but Seth's trailing voice tipped her off to something. "What are you....oh." In hindsight, it was pretty hard to miss the towering goliaths that were making their way towards the lake. The giant stone beasts almost looked they were about to crush Silvana before passing right by her towards their position. The Nightshade, not wanting to become lakeside roadkill, scurried out of the way of the Golem's projected path and was able to watch the colossi move on towards the shore. Then the spirits came. They were somewhat humanoid in shape, although their corporeal forms suggest a relation to the shadows that accompanied the mages. They were all heading down towards the shore to join the protectors.

Raven turned back to her own shadow, a bit confused as to what was going on. Shadow seemed drawn to the lake as well, curious as to the proceedings and wanting to get a close look at the beings. Raven raised an eyebrow, but Shadow could only shrug. Given that the mage was not inclined to move, Shadow settled back down for the moment and returned to her spot behind the Nightshade.

As the two larger spirits headed out onto the lake, a large dark one to Raven's delight and a large white one to her disgust, she looked over at Seth, who taking it all in. "What is this, Seth? I'd say it looks a lot like what we did before, but it's weird."
