"What? I can talk about journey things too! I want to hear the plans!" Fei whined. "And I don't want to go with the scary golem..." By virtue of being a younger sister Fei had this built in brother annoyer, and she knew where she could be to cause the most inconvenience. Also she wanted to be part of plans.

"HEY! DO I HEAR SOME UNFOUNDED BOASTING GOING ON? FROM SOME CENTAURS?" Onyx stomped up to the table, slamming her hands down on the table. It was strong enough that it upset the mages' drinks. In front of the guests no less?" Onyx looked mischievous, gold eyes darting between the centaurs and the mages. "I'll show you some demons later, ya hear?" she grinned, sitting down right next to Silvana with her dragon feet up on the table with a THUNK. "It's not fair that all ya got ta listen to are these crockpots."

"And you mages! Are you good at ANYTHING but being bad party guests? Come. On. Now. Show me something nice."

"Guess there are no demons, then." was all Silvana could say about what the centaurs said before turning back to Nydia and Cale. "Well, anyway-" She didn't get a chance to follow up with whatever she was gonna say as the giant dragon lady from before came up to them and sat down right next to her.

"I'm not much for parties..." Silvana mumbled before speaking clearer so Onyx could hear her. "You want to see something nice, huh?" With a hand motion, she made a shadow appear on the floor where the dragon lady could see it. She pointed her towards it, and how anyone stepping onto the shadow got their feet grabbed by shadow hands. Silvana giggled at it. "Just a small prank I learned." She let the people go, then conjured another shadow on their table, making spikes pop up out of it with no harm to anyone.

"Oh, and some LADY is going to tell ME that they are going to beat me on some battlefield? I don't think you've seen a demon either!" The centaur replied with a loud laugh as the lords fought some small distance away, and a cheer sounded out when Edgar took a slash from the large sword neatly cutting at his side.
"Just like your Lord over there is going to learn, we centaurs know how to fight!"

"Hah! I am a dragon first and foremost!" She snatched a frothy mug of something off of a passing tray, downing it in one go, and slamming it down on the table enough to break it. "As YOU will learn, on. The. Field. Or not, and continue being overconfident. It will make the victory all the better!"

"Oho! Just like one of those little elemental spirits! Have you done battle with it yet? Killed something with it? Ah, there many of those who practice the dark arts here, but that's more of the Mistress' deal, if you. Know. What. I. Mean. Still, plenty of those here that can do that same thing. Are you born with it? Those little tricks." she talked to all three of the mages, examining them again with sharp eyes. She wanted to make sure their clothes were still neat and tidy as the two lords fought in the background.

Drew took a moment to think up an excuse, grunting when one didn't come to him. He wasn't quite sure why he wanted the privacy so badly. Despite Alice's more revealing attire, they weren't doing anything but examining the book before the noise started. As much as it bugged him, he knew he couldn't come up with a reason that would satisfy Fei. Besides, she might actually know something. It's a long shot, but I've got nothing to lose.

"Tell you what. I'll let you take a look." he said, going back to the book "That is, if you don't mind, Alice." He got a quick nod before opening it, pointing to the symbols. "Now I understand a few of these, so these aren't completely foreign. Can you make any sense of them?"

"I have battled with my powers, yeah, and I have killed with my powers. I think. I don't know if they were real or not." Silvana thought about when she'd been in the trials, but she was still unsure if that whole thing had been real or not. Well, it didn't matter much at the moment.

"Eheheh, yeah, I'm sure I know what you mean." she said when Onyx mentioned something about a mistress. "I was born with my powers, yeah. Had to go to the Academy in order to control my powers, which was nice as it made me realize just how much I love darkness." She made a giant shadow hand appear out of the ground behind Onyx and grab her, holding her tightly. "As you can see, I'd say I'm fairly powerful." She let her go after a little while.

"Good luck, creature. It will be luck now that determines who catches it in the room first..."

The stone man didn't take Gabriel's bait. Gabriel furrowed his eyebrows. Now he was left to search a room that he knew was empty; he'd seen the cat go into the room on the left. Although... their quarry only had one exit, as far as the Hydromancer knew. So he simply knelt down in the doorway. In theory, he was now giving the cat a choice: remain hidden, and thus inevitably found and chased further by the rocky individual; or try to leave, and run straight into Gabriel's arms.

Gabriel watched the stone man rummage through drawers, pick up tables with one hand, and stump into the bathroom in the back. The cat was nowhere to be seen... Gabriel tried to get its attention by snapping his fingers a few times. Nothing happened. He bent down further to look under the bed, the room's most prominent feature, and found a pair of eyes looking back at him. He straightened up, leaving one hand on the floor and beckoning with his fingers.

"Gabriel? Shouldn't you be looking around?" Isa queried, looking down from where she stood leaning against the wall, arms folded. He didn't answer, instead biding his time and waiting for the stone man to come back. It was all a matter of patience. When his opponent checked the bed, the cat would try to run away...

Sure enough, the stone man grabbed the bed with both hands and lifted it off the floor. "Reeow!" Spooked, the cat mewed at the stone figure, jumped back to its feet and pelted away... straight into Gabriel's waiting arms. He scooped up the ball of fur and claws with one arm, gently stroking it and murmuring to it until it calmed down. "Hey, hey there, it's okay, little one... Ow..." Two sets of claws dug into his arm even as he held on, carefully holding their owner to his chest as he got back to his feet.

"It's okay... it's only Gabriel. Big guy's not gonna hurt you."

"This world is odd, but that's because half the things that are daily occurrences here are myths where I come from. Though your customs aren't the strangest I've seen, in fact it is rather comforting to know some things never change. As for my seriousness, can't just pass up an opportunity to learn something that could help. I knew I wouldn't exactly have long to ask my questions before something happened, plenty of time to relax once that has occurred.

'Well it seems this wasn't the worst place to end up, that is some small miracle isn't it?' He thought to his other self, though he noted the lack of response. That was deeply worrying, it was only now that much of the distractions were gone that he noticed his shadow wasn't there with him.

'Oh dear gods, why didn't I notice he was gone before now? Hopefully it isn't too late to find him.'

"Excuse me for a second, I need to check something." He got up and walked into a nearby hallway before checking the crystal and trying to pump a small bit of energy into it, hoping for some form of response.

Fei happily snatched up the book and hopped onto Alice's bed. She flipped through most of the book, yawning and fidgeting at the lack of illustrations and pertinent information. No funny spells, no colorful pictures, no jokes.

"Boo, this is stupid. All I can read from it anyways is this part..." Fei pointed to a series of symbols. Here's something about a door. Like, a BIIIG door, you know? Like... like a superdoor! A special superdoor! But then on some pages it has this," she pointed to another group. "This means its closed, so I dunno, it doesn't really make sense. Like a door you only use once? But then how do you get out of the room if you can only use a door once? It doesn't even mention any windows. How can you only use a door once? And then the others, it talks about them... opening both ways? I mean, like a normal door, you know? You can go in or out. Maybe it's a dictionary."

Then she flipped through several pages again. "These are kind of like the ones in the stories Master Durant tells us sometimes, when he's talking about like... whirlpools and leviathans, and giant squid, and tsunamis. About scary things that we have to be careful about. Mommy says he just tells us stories like that to scare us, and that there's no real leviathans or giant squid... she DID see a whirlpool once though, when SHE was a little girl. It was bigger than their boat! I haven't seen any real whirlpools... only the ones we make in bowls, or on the beach. I want to see one in the ocean! How big do you think they can get? What do you think the fish do when there's a whirlpool? I mean, they're already in the water, so do they just go to the bottom and swim away? Or do they ride around and around for fun? That sounds fun, I want to try that if I see real whirlpool..."

[hr]

Onyx didn't seem terribly impressed with Silvana. "I imagine the other elementals wandering about here have tasted more blood than you then. Much more useful to go out and live in the wild to tune your magic, not sit with your nose buried. In. Books. But what do I know about the dark magics! Hah!" she smacked Nydia on the shoulder. "What do you two quiet ones do? Watch the food spoil? We've pulled a lot of stops out for this party." She took a tray of small... things from a maid, setting it down on the table. The centaurs took one small one each.

"Hah! You had better be careful with these mages! Pack a kick, they do!"
"Pack a kick for centaurs who know nothing but tender grass and mother's milk." Onyx joked, handing one to Silvana, one to Cale, and one to Nydia. They were small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, each of them a soft pastel color. They had a cookie-ish texture to them, but were softer, as if they hadn't been cooked all the way.

[hr]

The Tabby growled and squirmed around in Gabriel's arms, clearly not pleased with something or another about this situation. It swat at his face, but caught only air. Finally, the cat... burst? It burst into a flock of bats or birds, or something with wings, screeching and fluttering out of the door.

Isa laughed and straightened Gabriel's clothes and hair. Tabby had done quite a bit of damage to his sleeves. "Aw, she liked you."

When Gabriel unfolded his arms, a small white collar, presumably cat-Tabby's, fell to the ground with a soft *clink*. It had a few jewels around it that sparkled mysteriously.

"Hm. Doesn't really seem like it..." Gabriel pushed one of his sleeves up his arm to assess the damage. Clink. There were several sets of claw marks in his arm, some of them deep enough to bleed. Gabriel just sighed and shook the sleeve back down. They'd heal up in time, he reasoned as he allowed Isa to readjust the cuff.

Something on the floor glinted in the corner of his vision. Gabriel looked down to find Tabby's collar, made of some sort of white fabric and studded with gems. The Hydromancer quickly picked it up off the ground, before his opponent could claim it. "And with this, I claim a victory, now that our original goal has, er... left the building, it seems." He held it up, examining the stones set into the material. They seemed to shimmer and shift in hue of their own accord.

"Interesting. I might take a better look at this later in more detail. For now, though, I imagine people have wagers to collect."

"Myself included," Isa noted with a smirk, leading the way back to the hall. As they entered, the first thing that came to Gabriel's eyes and ears was the fight between Edgar and Kane, in a space clear of tables. "Oh, good grief. What's going on here?"

"Nothing that will disrupt the party, I'm sure. Come on. I see some of your friends nearby... talking with Onyx, it seems." Linking Gabriel's arm with her own, Isa led her charge to one of the free tables near Cale, Nydia, Silvana, Onyx and the centaurs. They each took a seat, and Isa set the collar in plain view so that anyone who had placed bets could see the winner.

Gabriel, however, looked to his fellow mages and their companions, recognising one as the lady shepherding Cale, Silvana, Seth and Raven through the castle earlier. He gave the group a short wave, but was content to observe unless brought into the conversation.

The kiss was all too brief for Raven. Granted, she wasn't all that prepared for it in the first place. Hell, she figured at the rate Seth was moving, she was going to have to do it herself. But still, it seemed like there was nowhere near enough time to enjoy it before Seth pulled away and moved back inside, intent on causing some mischief.

"If that's all the trouble we're going to be getting into, we should be fine," Raven answered as they spotted another shadow. Looked like it was Drew's. "At least they aren't being repelled or anything. Where would ours be off to then though?"

[hr]

The closet's darkness was comforting. As Raven's shadow relaxed for the moment in the presence of Seth's shadow, she leaned back into his body. The absorbed power from Silvana had made them feel more whole, so instead of sinking into him, there was an actual feeling of pushing back. It was welcome, it made her more connected in her mind then just merging into the darkness. But still she thought back about that deal.

"You know I was joking." Shadow said, tilting her crow black head back looking at Seth. "Helping that girl. Didn't think we would. Were we right? To risk it? For this?

"Well, I could take several guesses, but I get the feeling none of them are right. A closet maybe?" Seth suggested with a grin. He had no idea what a shadow of his could be up to, but there were more than enough things to probably do in this place. And perhaps they were enjoying each others company for a change, which was slightly what Seth was attempting to while also planning on causing some trouble.

As they continued to go along, they finally came upon a room that wasn't as well lit as the others. An orb sat in the middle surrounded by unlit torches. On the other side seemed to be a door which was eating any light that happened to be in the room. Oddly enough, there seemed to be beds in this particular area, with a few lit candles around them.

"I don't know if this is convenient or....something. Not that I'm complaining, of course." Seth commented, walking over to the most ominous thing in the room: the door.

"Normally, I'd think I should just torch my way through, but I get the feeling you could be a bit more creative with this than I could be. Unless you think this Pyromancer can do a faster job than a Nightshade in the dark." Seth teased, letting a flicker of flame appear as he wove his hand toward the doorway in front of them.

"Or...we could take a bit of time in the bed. Lighting might be just....right. Unless you want to take a few out?"

[hr]

Seth's shadow could only enjoy the moment at this point, with the deal completed it felt so much more....physical to be with Raven's shadow. As she fell back into him in the darkened closet for the privacy that they had truly wanted, he wrapped his arms around her. Though, the question that she posed brought Seth's shadow to leave a kiss on her forehead as she tilted back.

"A very good joke, and the most successful joke yet." Seth's shadow replied softly. "I didn't think you would want to either. But these make the risk well worth it..." He added to the last by leaving a trail of kisses and hugging her close.

"And...I think that they'll take us a long ways. When we get to where it is...risky, we'll be safe. I'll keep us safe. Remember, I took the risk, so you don't get to worry.

[hr]

The stone golem couldn't help but start laughing at Gabriel scooping up the cat who seemed much less than pleased to be being held by pretty much anyone at this point, digging the claws in reasonably quickly as it did its own form of scrambling to try and get away, only to burst into bats and escape.

"Well well! Not half bad, creature. Though, I imagine you are the luckier of the pair of us at this point. Seems that you have won with the time being, which I applaud you. Just goes to show that doesn't matter what you have if a bit of luck is on your side!" The golem said with a loud laugh and giving Gabriel a reasonably hard slap upon the back while doing so.

"You enjoy the victory lad! Its a simple contest, but well earned!" The golem shouted after Gabriel went back to the party.

[hr]

"AH! Alexander! You are....still here. Very good. I had nearly forgotten....well, that there was someone else there!" A slightly relieved thought came through, much further away than other conversations that the pair had before.

"Something is....wrong, Alexander. I am feeling split. Incomplete. And I think the others are....seeing it too. Or feeling it. Something about this place makes us separate, but not...complete. I am...somewhere. Away, and it is darker here. Not complete itself, but there are artifacts here like the...Gah, why can't I remember? Alexander, do you remember the artifacts? They were powerful. Dangerous. Why are they here?" The shadow seemed quite confused once again, seeming to try and put something together.

"I had seen...the others? Here or there, they wander. Something is amiss. Something grew, or broke or....I can't recall, but something has gone wrong. Where are you, Alexander? Have you escaped that....woman?

Meanwhile, Alexander felt a quick tap on his shoulder, with an expectant Jade standing behind him with a curious look. Stepping around to see what he had been holding with the small amount of light coming from the stone.

"What has you in such a rush to check out here, Lord Alexander? Not the most polite thing to simply just run off like that." Jade said, a small smile forming at the mischief obviously behind just getting up to leave the party. "Or do you now have a plan? Because I'd like to think I can take some part in it..."

[hr]

Alice listened and watched closely as Fei seemed much more careless with the book than she generally was with the book, simply flipping through many of the enchanted pages and glancing at a few things here or there. Though, she looked at Fei curiously as she mentioned leviathans and giant...squid?

"Erhm....You've never met any hydras? Or Water Spirits? Or....a whirlpool? Where you come from there is not much water? I'm...sorry to hear that." Alice said, obviously somewhat surprised that these things sounded quite off to her.

"Is there anything....else that you have not seen before? Because this world is probably going to surprise you a lot otherwise, and I would rather not have you doing..whatever you do to what surprises you. Or grabbing their things and treating them like....a toy." While Alice likely didn't mean offense, she seemed particularly concerned about the book that Fei seemed to be handling and almost forgetting about.

"But doors that go...ways? That sounds like something Lord Edgar would talk about a lot of the time. Or portals, or stairs, or all kinds of....ways of moving. I couldn't let you take it places as its....well, just a book. It getting wet or dirty would ruin it. But I think it might offer up some hints or something to help you go places. Apparently this is a book of keys, which...well, it hasn't helped in unlocking any doors so far." Alice explained, hearing a laugh outside in the hall as well as a bit of hissing from what she assumed was Tabby.

"Erhm....You've never met any hydras? Or Water Spirits? Or....a whirlpool? Where you come from there is not much water? I'm...sorry to hear that."
"Mmm... well, sometimes the Masters tell us about things like that, but I haven't seen any real hydras. I've seen pictures though! Master Felicia says that hydras have so many heads, you can't even draw them all! If you cut off one of their heads, a gazillion more come back! At home mommy had a JEWELED hydra head, but I think it was fake. It looked pretty scary though, cause it was a real skull, and had all these sharp teeth... but there's a lot of water at the Academy. We live on the shore." she said proudly. "Mummy says that there's a lot of the water that isn't on any maps yet though, so maybe that's where all the hydras hide. Can you imagine a hydra coming up near the school, Drew! It would be so cool! Maybe we should set up a hydra trap when we get back. Do you think I could keep a hydra? One of my teachers said that the world is... more than one half water, but the Academy is pretty much on an island, so we have a lot of water around us."

"Is there anything....else that you have not seen before? Because this world is probably going to surprise you a lot otherwise, and I would rather not have you doing..whatever you do to what surprises you. Or grabbing their things and treating them like....a toy."
"Oh! We haven't seen dragons before! Or those... spirit elements."

I couldn't let you take it places as its....well, just a book. It getting wet or dirty would ruin it."
"What kind of book is this? Geez. Can't even get wet." she closed it and handed it back to her brother. The books she had back at the Academy could be read in the bath if she wanted to.

Drew wasn't comfortable at the mention of things that they hadn't seen. Well, those are nice things to look forward to... he said, rolling his eyes as Fei started talking. "Wait a minute... we did see dragons." he said, correcting her. Still, it was a minor detail compared to what he needed to know. He remembered Edgar talking about portals and gateways and things like that when they first arrived, but he was hoping to get more details. Still, it was better than nothing.

He took the book back from Fei, offering it to Alice. "I get that it wouldn't be safe to take this with us. But maybe there's a way to copy some of it for later? Or we could at least write down some important parts if we could find any. To be honest, we need all the help we can get." The lack of information and straight answers was starting to annoy him, but he wouldn't let Alice or Fei see it.

Then he had an idea. "Actually... I think I know someone else who might be able to make heads or tails of this." He turned to Fei "Sis, do you have any idea where Alexander is? I vaguely recall him reading some glyphs back when we first got here. He's been spending a lot of time in the study, so maybe he has some context about this stuff. You could take the book to him and see what he thinks." He then turned to Alice "If you don't mind us lending the book to someone else, of course. If not, maybe we could give it one more look and see if we could find anything. Or just think of something else to do..." He didn't want this chance to go to waste, but he didn't just want to take something that Alice was keeping secret without her permission. After all, I'm not here to cause any trouble...

"Even with everything I've already said it will sound crazy. But a shadow version of myself is in some kind of danger, and I need to find it. Something is happening to it and neither I nor it know what. Follow if you like but please don't attempt to stop me or dissuade me from finding it."

'A place with artifacts, only the room with the sphere in it has anything I might call artifacts. Second guess would be the temple we entered from but that place didn't have artifacts to speak of, it just was one.' Alexander immediately began to run in the direction of the room that had been full of artifacts and experiments. He then spoke to his shadow using the stone.

'Keep talking to me, I'm coming to help you however I can. Jade is still with me, she doesn't seem that bad honestly. Neither does Edgar to be honest, he and his rival have given me some helpful information.' He then went on to tell it what he learned as he kept energy flowing into the crystal hoping to use it to at least let him know if he was getting closer. He also hoped that by keeping the two of them talking it might help slow whatever was happening in some small way.

Back on the dance floor, Joey kept up with his dancing partner, following along to her dizzying pirouettes and complex steps. Song was adequate for grooving, but the young Earthshaper longed for something a little more umph. The musical piece ended, and everyone clapped and showed their appreciation for the masterful playing, while Joey meandered right up to the band. "Hey maestro, think you can spice things up a bit? Y'know, really get the dance floor moving?" He asked, much to the conductor's confusion.

"Y'knowwww man...something a little..." He performed a bit of move to demonstrate, something like a shake and a wavy wiggle. Even had a little chord to hum as he performed. "Eh, ehhh? Right? Something exciting and upbeat...but also a little saucy." The maestro smiled and nodded in realization, seemingly getting the gist. As Joey proceeded back towards his mistress, the band began their piece, a jaunty little composition with much more emphasis in the percussion and horns than the last few songs. "Yessss, I can work with this! Come-" He took Rosa by the hand, brought her in close. "I wanna show you this thing I picked up once from a couple of gypsies passing through town." His wandering hands slithered down to her hips.

"Have you ever tried belly dancing? S'kinda like that, but a lot more sensual hip moving, annnd you're dancing with someone." He explained. "You might've done something like this before. Get lost in the music...move those hips to the beat...and the rest kinda just..falls into place." He wanted to whisper, to try and set the mood. Unfortunately the music was getting loud. So instead he just began moving his hips along with her own. "Turn around-" He gave her a quick twirl. "If you really get into it, your hips basically start moving on their own." He added, the two swirled into a fit of bumping and grinding as they moved to the music.

Alice gave Fei an odd look, obviously a little off as she began talking about how the book couldn't even get wet. She didn't know what kind of things they were referring to, but most of the books she had seen tended to not react too kindly to being doused in any kind of water. Tabby had seen to it that theory was tested here and there with her books.

"Oh! Taking a hydra with you? You....erm, could do that I think. Sometimes they are a bit more on the friendly side...but if you run into one of them that is much bigger, I wouldn't suggest it. They are very territorial about what they have, especially when they have...well, a lot of heads." Alice explained to Fei.

"But copying the book isn't any problem! I keep a spare copy over here just in case....which isn't quite as good as this one. But I think it will help...well, if you think it will help." Alice said, going under her bed to hunt for the other hidden book inside.

"Mm...there. Here you go. Don't worry too much about this one, just....don't show it around too much. I don't want the Lord Edgar finding out." Alice gave the small warning, going to hiding her original book back away. Going to her cabinet, she seemed to be taking out some studded armors, she began to slip into it, testing the different parts to make sure it was on tight, covering a majority of herself and looking much more warrior by every item attached.

"So...Lord Drew, what is it you intend now? The battle will probably be starting soon, and....well, I know you won't be participating. So, I don't know how you take to the bloodsports, but if not...I would suggest leaving soon..."

[hr]

"Lord Alexander, you really thought I was coming out here with the intention of stopping you?" Jade said as she began running with Alexander as he made his way back to the original relic room that he knew of. As they made their way to the room itself, they came upon their initial problem. The door to the room of relics had been locked once again.

While they had been going along, with Alexander telling his shadow of all that had been happening and the information that had been gathered, the shadow seemed to be listening intently, at times almost seeming to say something but with Alexander talking consistently.

"So...you trust these other creatures from around here. I do not think it wise to trust the Edgar fellow, nor this woman at all, but it is your choice....Now if only I could figure out what these artifacts are doing....or why they are here. These do not belong here, Alexander. They are out of place...but then perhaps I am out of place here. Have you arrived? If so, then something is wrong with my...typical vision. Do you see...me? Or perhaps this Edgar fellow is not the man you think him to be, with these things here...."

[hr]

In the meantime, at the party where Cale, Nydia, Silvana, and the newly arriving Gabriel had gone, the fight between the lords seemed to be nearing its completion, with Edgar taking a leap larger than most would expect and slamming the flat edge of his ax across Kane's head, causing the centaur to stumble backwards and toppled over to the ground. The cheering broke out through the room at the sight and blow after many others, and Edgar stepped over to the fallen lord with a hand extended.

"Damned fine work, my good Kane, but this time I am the winner! Get up, ya old horse, and take your defeat." Edgar laughed, his outfit of armor looking much worse for wear at this point but still largely intact. Pulling up the centaur, Edgar gave a wide wave and seemed prepared to make his announcement.

"Alright ladies and gents! Lets get the main show on the road! It has been fantastic, my fine guests, but you will have to finish your meals and come back later!" Edgar announced, and many drinks went up in acknowledgement and were downed almost as quickly as they had been gotten. Many centaurs and spirits began to file out of the castle, some making a run for it, others taking their time with some maids and spirits.

Meanwhile, on the dance floor, Rosa had been doing her dance, and seemed only satisfied with the dance that had been going on with Joey. He could keep up, but it seemed that was about it, which meant it was a bit more boring than she initially wanted. Though, when he went to the band she wanted to know what was going to happen with this particular dance. With the mention of belly dancing, she gave Joey a bit of a look which meant that she knew, but didn't much care for the suggestion.

As she was spun about though, she had grown tired of this 'dance', as it involved less dancing and more just moving in a rhythm, which was even more boring to her especially as it seemed this rogue just wanted to be close, not dance. When the announcement came out, she suddenly flashed a grin, and grabbed Horatio's arm. In one swift motion, she swung Horatio over her shoulder, and onto a nearby table. Most didn't even seem to pay any mind, busy making their way elsewhere, doing a bit of cleaning up, or taking a good chuckle at the scene as Rosa hovered over the now dazed Horatio.

"You could use a bit more practice in a couple ways. One of which is knowing what is a dance, and what is a rhythm to move with. I imagine your other colleagues got someone because of their....particular tastes. Oh well, it was interesting for a small while, even if it was for the wrong reasons...Try to stay out of trouble from now on...or you'll have a bit more to worry about than laying on a table." Rosa said with a smile as she turned and began walking away from the party.

"I didn't exactly think you would try to stop me, but it is always a possibility you would think this was a terrible idea and try to dissuade me. After all I'm telling you I'm doing this to help a future version of myself delivered via a crystal that is giving sentience to a shadow bestowed unto me by a god-like entity." He stopped for a second.

"By the gods I never actually realized how insane that sounded until just now. But in any case we need to get through this door. I guess you wouldn't happen to have the key?" Alexander asked as he thought back to his other self.

'Edgar I wouldn't trust enough to try and interfere on tomorrow's proceedings on his behalf, but I see no reason to think he wishes me ill as of yet or that his information is faulty. I have even less reason to suspect this Kane fellow, and if Jade wanted to betray us for whatever reason I think she would have already. We are at the door to the relic room, but the door is locked. If Jade doesn't have the key I'll carefully disable the lock and enter.'

But copying the book isn't any problem! I keep a spare copy over here just in case....which isn't quite as good as this one. But I think it will help...well, if you think it will help.
Drew's eyes lit up. "Yeah, that'd actually help a lot!" He took the book, turning back to Fei "Ok. We don't have to find him yet. Especially not with this whole battle thing about to happen..."

Don't worry too much about this one, just....don't show it around too much. I don't want the Lord Edgar finding out."
Drew nodded, giving a warning glance to his sister. "Not a word. Got it?" Drew stood back, seeing Alice armor up. Once again, the way she carried herself seemed to change, seeming more like a warrior. "I... I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Are there any other orbs nearby I could activate? I could give one last bit of help before it starts."

"Oh! Yes, another orb is always a good way to go about...uhm, helping. Er....does your sister know where to go with my book?" Alice asked, finishing up her armor work. "Because the next orb is a bit of a ways to go..." Drew nodded, handing the copy book to Fei. "Take this to your room. Hide it. SHOW. NO ONE." he said to her, hoping she got how important it was. He then turned back to Alice, ready to go. "Let's make this quick. Don't want you to be late." he said jokingly, poking her arm.

"Well...alright then. Here we go, this way. Try to keep up!" Alice said with a small giggle as she began to lead them away. He stayed a few steps behind her, laughing when she did as she asked him another question. "So...you are going to be watching? I know before you were not pleased with it." Alice began, making sure nothing was out of place in the room as they went out. "Also, I should...apologize if this goes as well as we think it will. I may...partake in some drinks."

"I'll watch. I'm curious to see what sort of tactics and tech Kane has to offer. And plus, I want to see you in action." he said, smiling at the last part. "And we can have a big celebration once it's all done! Drinks all around!"

"Alright ladies and gents! Let's get the main show on the road! It has been fantastic, my fine guests, but you will have to finish your meals and come back later!"

It seemed there would not be much opportunity for further conversation, judging by the fact that almost everyone was moving out of the hall rather quickly. "That's my cue, Gabriel. Come on. We need to get you back to your room, unless you wish to observe the fighting," Isa suggested. At the look on Gabriel's face, she cracked a smile. "Well, either way, let's move." She took his arm and led him out of the hall, back to the room where he had stowed his gear.

"Isa, what's going on? What's this about fighting? Is it something I might be able to help with?" Gabriel had taken a moment to grab Tabby's collar, just in case.

"Ah, no. I'm not allowed to bring you into the fray, and I don't think anyone wants to see what would happen if you did join us. Lord Edgar specifically stated that you and your fellows were to be exempted from the battle."

Gabriel shrugged. "Well, if he said that to us personally, I don't remember it."

"As for me, though... I have both a new and an old job to do. A fair few of us have taken part in this fight many times before. My best advice for you, if you do not wish to observe, is to stay here - " they had arrived at Gabriel's room " - and find some way to use the time constructively." Isa let go of Gabriel and promptly made for one of the two rooms in the back. Based on what Gabriel could see, it looked like a walk-in wardrobe of some sort.

Isa fumbled with something in the back of her dress as she hurried, a catch of some sort in the fabric between her wings. Gabriel averted his eyes when he understood what she was doing - she hadn't bothered to shut the door - and began to busy himself with the possessions in his pack. Crossbow, textbooks, papers, non-perishable food... food sounded like a plan. He took a piece of dried pear and chewed on it as he reorganised the pack, keeping his attention focused on it so as to allow Isa some privacy.

"Your robes are in here, by the way," Isa called out. "Properly cleaned. Now where is the armour kept..."

Horatio had to blink a few times, to regain control of the eyes currently spinning in his sockets. "What a woman..." He slurred dreamily. As he looked back, he could spy the mistress following the crowd, sauntering all the way. He had to sigh however, just at the turnout of whole endeavor. "Didn't really achieve anything from hanging with her...couldn't get in her dress, and she didn't have anything I could confiscate..." The end result made all the work pointless.

"Got some new clothes though...wonder if I could get away without having to change back..." Which made him realize he'd have to go get his regular clothes as well. "Can't forget." As he thought, he brought forth his dagger to have it twirl on one of his fingers. Like a parallel to his state before he ran into the other mages.

He sat up, realizing the mistress had distracted him from his initial objective. "I mean, it wasn't really an objective, but I know how my wanderlust gets the best of me..." Aimlessly wandering around the castle seemed like something he'd want to resume, so he did. "The fight's gonna be a fight whether i'm there or not...for now...I wonder if there's a balcony or something on one of the upper floors...could maybe get a better look at the whole skirmish..." Thinking aloud, and dagger still twirling around his finger, he proceeded to wander off, whistling a jaunty tune along the way.
