I managed to successfully emulate XII. It worked perfectly, except for the cutscenes which lagged a bit.
Still, I've tried about 3 times and have never managed to complete that game. Something about it is just so boring...
I like it. I think it's supposed to appeal to people who like MMOs, but don't quote me on that. Granted, a lot of FF fans don't like the MMOs or XII, so it could be a logical reason.

Secret of Mana.

That is all.

But just incase that makes me face mod wrath, Super Mario RPG, has the square charm, with Mario awesomeness.

If you haven't tried the Breath of Fire series, do. Also, Xenogears is my favorite JRPG, so i'd recommend that.

Will if you don't mind playing JRPG game on the PC I recommend Recettear an item shop tale which is my favorite game of all time. You can find it on steam or gamersgate

Just as Sagat said, Xenogears is one of the best JRPGs that ever graced the earth.

and that if you are interested in the Breath of Fire series, the 3rd and 4th are the best of them; 1 and 2, your mileage may vary; the 5th is the most controversial, if you want a game harder than Demon's Souls and as sadistic as Kaizo Mario, go for it.

Valkyria Chronicles on PS3.
This. Most definitely this. One of the best games I've played on the PS3.

Also, I'd highly recommend playing Final Fantasy 7 (although looking at your avatar, I assume you've already played it. :p) and 9 for the PS1. (I've never played 8, so I can't say whether I like that game or not.) You can download both of these from the PS3 if you have one. Also Chrono Trigger for the SNES or it's remake for the DS.

Odin Sphere. It's a gorgeous game and the story will keep you playing just to find out what happens, plus the fighting is actually fun!

I actually didn't really mind the gameplay. I'm not a huge fan of the MMO-style automated combat, but it wasn't any worse than the turn-based style. It was primarily the story. I found the characters flat and unrelatable, and the plot was very slow-moving and predictable.

Kingdom Hearts. All of them.

The Mother trilogy is also something you should look into.

The old final fantasy games (up until 3 with the exception of 5) are amazing. Also the Golden Sun games are great examples of JRPGs.
Fixed for you.

Any FF game is good, ignore the elitists who call themselves fans but arnt.

Also Check out Cross edge SUPER UNDERRATED ps3 JRPG.
I meant as classic-style JRPGs, and yes 5 was kinda crap compared to the rest of the series. 7 and 9 are great also.
I totally miss said what i meant. I was implying that 4 and 6 are the weakest of the oldschool FFS, 1,2,3 and 5 are all masterpieces. FF4 was alright but 6 took everything that was wrong with 4 and extended bit and made it 100X worse.

I am surprised that NOBODY recommended Lunar 1 and 2 for Playstation. Those ghames are just incredible with a great story, cool characters, humor, anime cutscenes, really fun combat and really really REALLY good plot twists. Seriously, if none of you played Lunar you are seriously missing a great JRPG.

I tried to read all the coments to see what games i could play myself, ill recoment Arc rise fantasia most people said voise acting is bad i fint it rather strange not bad and something people have never mentioned yet is that the game is kind of a reap of from Tales of Symphonia as twilight princess is a reap of from ocarina of time if someone has played both you'll know what i mean but still im loving it.
