I like to imagine the creation of this show went something like this;

Escapist: Yahtzee, we need more content, want to do another show?
Yahtzee: ...Yeah, alright.
Escapist: Excellent. We're open to idea of what it might be.
Yahtzee: How about I go into MS Paint and draw on video game box art for 5 minutes.
Escapist: ...

And it was wonderful.

Great start to a new series, Mr Croshaw. I see you have adopted the cheeky cat emoticon, may it serve you well.
Until he realizes that ALL game covers look like this:

Oh dear...

That music... oh God I'm having Evangelion flash backs! I can't deal with this right now!
Oh God, me too. I had flashbacks, man, it was awful. I can't listen to any of that classical music without feeling sad : P

Bravo. I felt like I was in an overly-spacious art gallery, snacking on tiny cubed cheeses and sipping wine while listening to a haughty docent lecture me on a sculpture propped on a thin white pedestal. It was really hilarious.

Not to defend video game box art covers but here goes.

While the player is playing the game and moving the character forward, their back is to the player(most of the time, I would hope), so wouldn't that mean that the character on the box art is actually facing the right way, and the characters on covers like Battlefield and CoD, whose fronts are facing the viewer, facing the wrong way?
But you're not supposed to play the game with the box art (the lack of a HUD and place to stick the controller are helpful hints). The box is supposed to showcase what the game is about, and it doesn't say much for the main character that the most interesting part of him is his back (or the rest of the game that said back is the most interesting visual they could possibly associate with it, Bum-City not withstanding).
The idea is that the main character is the player, and since they cannot place the player's face in the cover it is not shown (displaying the player's instance during the game reinforces that).

That said, this does not make the cover impervious to criticism, specially this kind of sarcastic observations, created with the intention to criticize everything.

The game is about the player, mostly alone, facing the unknown and I think the covers convey that, although I do think the cover could be better in some ways, most criticism shown here is out of proportion and just for laughs.

is coincidentally the weapon of choice.
Threaded Cane Or Bust!

Seriously, though the Saw Cleaver is the most balanced, the cane is just better, that and most speedrunners use the Axe.

I have done runthroughs with the axe, cleaver and cane. While the reach of the cane is good for cheesing from a safe distance, it's a bit underwhelming until you get skill sufficiently leveled. The axe is a tad slow for the damage it does, but almost makes up for it with how easy it is to abuse spin-and-win. I enjoyed all the playthroughs as each weapon had something unique to offer which changed things just enough.

You're wrong about speedrunners using the axe as they universally favour the saw cleaver. Seriously, I've watched an immense amount of speedruns and every single run on the speedsouls list is a cleaver run. Most would agree that its high base damage combined with its speed makes it somewhat OP.

I don't... get it?

I didn't laugh throughout the whole thing. It was just a meandering, low production video of Yahtzee sound exceedingly bored.

It was pretty funny, but the voice-over was surprisingly bad for Yahtzee. The way he reads it makes it sound like it's the first time he's read the script. I dunno, maybe he did the voice and the drawing at the same time and had trouble multitasking. That or he has difficulty pacing his voice when speaking slowly after all those years of omitting punctuation.

Pachelbel's Canon in D Major; good choice!

And now we know not to try and walk around with oversized shaving implements, as it explodes the triceps and shoulder muscles, so we've learned something as well!!!

hmmmmmeeh. I can see the idea they're going for here but.. the energy in its delivery could use some more juice. also I feel like its bit lengthy, but again that could just be because the slower speaking speed makes it seem like a drag.

I wasn't really sure what to think of it but I enjoyed it. I imagine once he gets into the feel of this the delivery will improve a little and he'll start getting more creative as well.

I'm genuinely wondering whether the pronunciation of "Bloodborne" in this video is meant to be a joke or not. Might have to revisit the Zero Punctuation and this video a few times o_o
No, he did something similar to when he did his video on Shadow Of Mordor, when he started gargling his own semen out of respect for the source material and for the interest of his own fans.
No clue why he wanted to do that.

I had a lot of fun with this and am interested to see where it goes.

I never enjoyed the poetry show or the face off competition with Jim. ZP's format is great but it grew stale for me years ago so I'm definitely ready for something new. I like how this concept is far more open to creative writing than other shows.

My obvious and inevitable episode suggestion:

I get that it is funny. I get that what he's saying it witty and sarcastic and comical and that this series will be successful.
But I'm just not laughing.
