I don't think so. Gen 4 made me question Pokemon, but Black and White really was quite impressive. Aside from the damn leaking garbage bag and the ice cream cone....Well anyway, best Gen is the 1st and the 3rd, but this is tied with Johto, which is a damn good standing in my eyes. Campaign was a bit too easy for me, but they are probably trying to expand their audience.

No way, I'm really enjoying White version.

A bit too easy though.
did you pick snivy? I got my ass kicked.
Picked Tepig, at the first gym it was no challenge because of pansage.
At the second Gym it was no challenge because Pignite knew Arm thrust.
At the third gym I had Pignite who knew fire moves.
At the fourth gym I had a Foongus.
At the fifth gym Foongus again.
At the sixth gym, Pignite knew Rollout.
At the seventh gym Pignite.
At the 8th gym, I had a Beartic and finished in Under 5 minutes.

Now I'm grinding for the elite four.

My team is Scolipede, Archeops, Confagrius, Beartic, Amoongus, Emboar, and Victini+Boldore as subs, but boldore won't be very useful until I'm able to trade him and get Gigalith.

What's your team?

Good god no! Pokémon just continues to grow as a franchise.

Diamond/Pearl were the best when they came out.
Then Heart Gold/Soul Silver came out and they were the best.
And now, finally, Black/White are the best!

Hooray for Pokémon!

No, Black/White are (in my opinion) the best games since Gold and Silver (as far as I'm concerned they started going downhill with Crystal.

No, not really. I think Black and White look horrible, but I didn't play the games yet.

In fact, I honestly believe they got better with each generation. Pokemon Red was half assed, regardless of what you purists say.

The games got better with each generation. I've played Red/Blue/Yellow, in retrospect, they were terribly designed with some bland Pokemon names and designs. Understandable, Gamefreak did not expect the games to do well and were experimenting with what to do.

Generation 2 was better, definitely an improvement.
Generation 3 was amazing, introducing abilities, natures, the current IV/EV system and some interesting Pokemon. They really started shaping up.
Generation 4 improved even more, adding the special/physical split and even more unique and interesting Pokemon.
Generation 5 is easily the best so far. Added tons of excellently designed and cleverly named Pokemon, implemented a myriad of new toys to play with in the metagame, and even dares to question the very premise of the entire series. Not to mention putting in some actual character development.

All in all, the Pokemon games get better over time, and hopefully continue the trend in the 6th generation.

Hurray for Pokemon.

I agree. Red/Blue/Yellow (and Green if you want to include the split Japan had) were clearly a "Beta" for the series. Subsequent additions added/changed things to improve the overall quality and gameplay experience.

I am also confident that there will be a sixth generation. Although...I kinda wonder if it will be on the 3DS or on some other system. I actually joked about how the games were appearing on smaller and smaller cartridges as the number of Pokémon increased. We started with 151 on a 2 inch square cartridge...and now we have more than 640 on something the size of a postage stamp and ALMOST as thick! I wonder...

"Hey man! Did you get Pokémon Puce and Mauve?"
*sniff* "Yeah, but..."
"But what? What's wrong?"
*sniff* "I accidentally swallowed them! I thought they were my meds!"
