JUNJI ITO, undisputed master of horror in Japan (along with Hino and Tsubaki) and our collaborator in SILENT HILL (S) pic.twitter.com/D9ypKBhVk5 [http://t.co/D9ypKBhVk5]

I'm so fucking pissed off.
In case you don't know who Junji Ito is, he's the guy who created the masterpieces of horror <link=http://htmlgiant.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Uzumaki2-500x302.jpg>Uzumaki and <link=https://p.dreamwidth.org/55068d0a680e/-/i53.tinypic.com/ddntpk.png> the enigma of amigara fault

I'm so fucking pissed off. Like, I know some people don't like Kojima, but Del Toro and Ito working together would make a game so terrifying I'm not sure it would be legal.

I hate Konami more than EA right now.

FUCK!

Goddammit, now I'm pissed.

I'm a big Junji Ito fan, and would've loved to see what he had in store for Silent Hills.

I hope they all still collaborate for a future project at least, because that's a complete waste.

I don't know who he is but with Konami's recent track record of fuck ups I'm sure he would've made a great Silent Hill game.

I'm sure he would have done very well for the visuals and creepiness of the game.

I still stand by believing that even if it was released, the game was doomed because of Kojima's involvement anyway. Del Toro and Ito's work would likely have went to waste. Now they definitely have gone to waste, and the series didn't get a proper farewell.

Obligatory #FucKonami

Hmm, all this time we didn't knew about his involvement. Yet now we are learning about it from del Toro? Maybe a kickstarter is around the corner?

Everything regarding this cancellation just keeps getting more and more depressing doesn't it?

Seconded. Just something to let us know that all of the ideas they talked about won't simply be left on the cutting room floor.

Apparently they also had Jesus, Lynch, and Hugh Jackman in on this. I heard they even reanimated Beethoven for the score. And the game was going to give you free ice cream and blow jobs.

Hopefully this dream team will get reunited one day. I'm actually curious to see what Del Toro can do.

Sounds like too many cooks. Would have spoiled the broth, for sure.

Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro, Junji Ito?

Remember that game Shadows of the Damned with it's all star crew? Didn't really help it be more than a generic third person shooter with token quirkiness.

Better to pick just one creator. Out of those, I'd definitely pick Junji Ito. Kojima has issues with subtlety (In that he's practically incapable of it) and I just don't plain know who Guillermo del Toro is except a movie director.

Except if PT was any indicator, this game was going to be anything BUT generic. PT has its progression issues and lack of a consistent internal logic, but if it was a taste of the potential of what Silent Hills could've been, this news hits hard even further.

That is actually a pretty severe issue for a Silent Hill game.

It was mostly intentionaly done for viral marketing purposes so people didn't finish it quickly and the lack of an internal logic only came to play towards the end of PT. 80% of it was pretty consistent to the level of obscurity that most Silent Hills puzzles have. It's only after a specific segment where it becomes unsolvable without an online guiude, but I doubt the actual game would've resorted to something like this since people would've already known that they were playing Silent Hills lol
