Someone mentioned it to me, I googled it, and apparently they have been scoping out MIT.
I was hoping we'd see "The Commonwealth" and I'm assuming that will be a main faction and/or area.

Here's a link for said rumour.

Personally, I have no idea if Boston is a particularly big part of Fallout's history (only played F3 and F:NV), but I'll be interested to see what Bethesda does with it. This is if the rumour is true of course.

Boston would be my second choice after New Orleans, so if in fact that is true, then wonderful. All I know about the Commonwealth is that one quest with the robot runaway guy, but if that leads to all sorts of advanced science stuff, then I'm happy

If i remeber correctly it's a huge junkyard filled with raiders and junkies but It could a different city from the fallout universe.(i only played 10 mins of fallout 1 so don't take me as a trust worthy source)

Here is hoping they get someone other than Bethesda to write the game. Like Obsidian.
True dat.

OT:It's in the US so it seems possible, I don't really care where is it(If it's in england I will shoot Todd Howard) as long as the game is good.

Any Fallout 4 news is good news.
I just really hope it is a launch title for the next-gen.
I can survive the wait for that amount of awesome.

I'd be really excited to see The Commonwealth, since they're one of the few groups in the Fallout universe actively carrying on technological advancement, it'd be exciting to see all the awesome weapons and set pieces the concept designers come up with for them.
I would've also like to see Ronto in a game, as this is most likely Toronto, not just because of my nationalist bias as a Canadian, but also because I really enjoyed the Fallout post-apocalyptic settings that weren't just dessert and industrial vomit puddles, like Point Lookout, Jacob's town and area, and the Siera-Madre casino and resort.

I still wish Van Buren happened. The plot is still canon as a prequel to New Vegas, but actually playing it would be great

Van Buren's plot is neither canon, nor a prequel to New Vegas.

Van Burn had its plot stripped apart, then scattered into pieces in New Vegas and its DLC.

The Brotherhood of Steel war with the NCR, Joshua Graham's pre Burned Man days, and Caesar's Legion were all set to appear in the game. So parts of Van Buren's plot are still canon.

Very kewl and thank you for the link... Boston would be a kewl place to have another Fallout although I can think of some other cities/regions that would be very interesting too, especially continuing the Nationalism themes of the prior games.

Off topic; Did anyone else really not care for FO:NV? I just have not been able to latch on to that game the same as I did when I first bought FO3. I still haven't been able to put my finger on it exactly, but I suspect it's the desert environment I'm just not down with.

Except ALL of those things are heavily modified, and differ in many ways, from the original design in Van Buren. Van buren is not canon, for the simple reason that New Vegas doesnt support it.

Victor Presper, the whole BOMB satellite, the prison controlled by an AI, it never existed.

All you have to do is look at how Joshua was in New Vegas, and how he was going to be in Van Buren to see that they are wildly different.

That is why the wiki states "The following is based on Van Buren and has not been confirmed by canon sources."

There is a very large difference between being canon, and having bits and pieces be altered and adapted into canon. Van Buren is the latter, not the former.

Your opinion. Just like it's my opinion that Fallout 3 spits in the face of the canon. I prefer modified versions of dead games to a game that forced mandatory sacrifice on you despite having a radiation resistant party member.

Thank god for broken steel

So, I'm assuming that if this is true, the only thing that'd keep it from being MovieBob's all-time favorite game would be that Nintendo would have nothing to do with it.

so Bethesda is doing it?

hmmmmmmmm

not sure how to feel about that, I liked Fallout 3 but its faults became glaringly obvious upon a second playthrough

I think it was more interesting...a kind of "new world" lets be honest true "mad max" style post apocalyptic is fairly..."standard" thease days
