I've found friends and we play together. You get idiots, sure, but the only reason it seems so much worse is because everyone has a mic out of the box and can mouth most of their views. I've seen pretty bad communities of people while playing PC games as well, with rampant racism amongst other things. Party chat counteracts this though as it allows you to communicate with your friends and your group of people and not have to experience the assholes at times.machblast said:

I have 360 - hardly use it compared to PS3 and PC - and even than I mostly stick to offline games. XBL is the worst online I have ever used and it is a slap in the fucking face to be expected to pay for such laggy peer-to-peer online, with small player caps, completely unreliable connection and not to mention the torrent of racism, homophobia and verbal abuse where the few moderators that do exist seem far more likely to ban those who complain or challenge their authority, than to punish the actual abusers.
I recommend Bayonetta, it's much better on 360 than PS3 (botched port).
Other than Crackdown I can't really give any strong recommendations for the 360.
Maybe GTA4 which is slightly better on 360 than PS3. Haven't played Fable 2 but I hear it's quite good, try the first episode for free, you can apparently get it on XBL marketplace.
No, the only place where the 360 is worth a damn at all is with the Budget downloadable titles like with Classic re-releases like:

Super Street-Fighter-II HD Remix
Super Contra
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
Streets of Rage 2
Rez HD
XBLA games:
Castle Crashers
Splosion Man
Shadow Complex (good Metroid-vania fun but watch out, written by Orson Scott Card*)

And games like "GTA: Episodes of Liberty City" are usually cheaper to buy in disc format online, it's a stand alone product, you don't need the original GTA4 to play it.

See it takes a certain level of maturity to install a game and figure out if you have the right hardware and settings that kind of acts like a "idiot barrier" on PC. But Xbox its easy to get out there and trolling, just put in the disc, hell a mic is bundled in the BOX so idiotic racists can start spreading their hate with minimum effort.
PS3 is also somewhat protected in most bigoted idiots either can't be bothered to buy/link-up a blue-tooth headset and are too ignorant to realise a USB-mic will work just as well.

It works great, I have this setup and the Xbox 360 does the scaling and even maintains the aspect ratio so no distortion even with 16:9 on a 16:10 monitor. You need headphones or external speakers but otherwise...
Yeah, it's kind of Xbox 360's most useful feature but the hegemony seems to be Console are for TVs when in fact Xbox 360 has really really good support of computer monitors. It could be the console's biggest selling point but the hegemony seems to be "By an Xbox 360 for you HDTV!" or "Buy a HDTV for your XBOX 360!"
At least with your set-up you can record your gameplay much easier and you can record TV as well I guess?
Yeah, after those GDC comments about MMOs killing PC gaming I have vowed never to play or pay for MMOs and will encourage everyone else not to. They apparently just suck up so much of the time and money of PC gamers that used to go into buying PC based RTS and FPS games every few months.
Now instead of "Hey, what new cool PC game will I get this month" it's just "I'll just play WoW some more"
Seriously, I can find at least 12 PC games every year that are must-plays, double that if including budget indie titles. except for a WoW player, they are already dropping $15 per month and a huge amount of their time, they can't justify buying that many PC games.

Well as of late im bored to death of WoW, got sick of the rinse and repeat every day ive done the dungeons so many times I can close my eyes and still wander through em. As about the VGA Xbox 360 cable aye, ive seen them about but there rather expensive abouts where im at and as ya pointed out some loss in visual quality but I can record game footage any time, since my capture card has dual composite inputs ive got my Playstation 1 and Xbox Normally Connected and I'll switch out for my 360 or maybe get a splitter so both my Xboxes can share 1 Composite connection.
