My personal favorites were:
Chu Chu Rocket was the shit!
Yeah but you cant play it now can you? as it was online only.

Anyway for my vote I would go with Soul Calibur its the only reason I bought a Dreamcast and I was not dissapointed the best 3D fighter ever in my opinion and yes I have played a hell of a lot of them.
It's been a long time and I don't think I ever played it online. I think I just played the single player challenge maps and made my own for my friends to play.
Hmmm I am almost certainly mistaken then I swear last time (and the only time) I tried to play it I couldnt but I must be remembering wrong (It was a long time ago and there isnt much to remember). Ok get Chu Chu rockets then its also dirt cheap I bought mine for 25 p (yeah I got the dreamcast late to).

...where did you get a Dreamcast? I've been looking for one for a couple months now and I refuse to use Amazon or Ebay because I don't want something that isn't actually a Dreamcast. (by that I mean that I distrust them since the Dreamcast is rather old, so I assume they'd send me something that emulates a Dreamcast)
I got a legit dreamcast off ebay, honestly they're pretty hard to find in stores these days I've only ever seen one in a shop window.

Um, Resident Evil games, SA and SA2, Power Stone, ChuChu Rocket, Wacky Races is pretty good too.

There's some I'm after still but can't be bothered hunting

If you can hunt it down, I still get out Looney Tunes Space Race at get-togethers every once in awhile. Fairly Mario-Kart-ish, but still a TON of fun.

I got a dreamcast of my own about 5 years ago. I found it, two controllers, a memory card and 4 games in the dumpster at my apartment when I was throwing away the kitchen trash.

I looked at it, decided "what the heck its all in a plastic bag" took it home and hooked it up with some old universal wires I had... and yup. It worked. Still have it hooked up to play to this day

Soul Calibur
Crazy Taxi
ChuChu Rocket
Jet Set Radio (I still roll hard with this)

No one mentioned Quake III Arena or Unreal Tournament? Those were some of my favorite times on the Dreamcast, playing local splitscreen whlist fleeing from my brother's BFG yelling "NOOOOOOO..."

Grandia II was a good one, though I believe it was on the PS2 as well though, albeit not a great port.

That was a pretty fun yet messed up game. If I had a dreamcast that would be the first one I pick up ^^

Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2

I remember the Dreamcast...plan on getting one myself too before too long. Anyway, you wanna know what games you need so...

BIG-BLANKET STATEMENT: Capcom Fighters. Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Power Stone...Capcom basically dominated the Dreamcast with its fighting games. You can't really go wrong with any of them.

Crazy Taxi
Gauntlet Legend
Jet Set Radio
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Skies of Arcadia
Spawn: In the Demon's Hand
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Soul Caliber
Typing of the Dead (or just House of the Dead 2 if you can't find a keyboard)

I know there are more but that should keep you occupied. Seriously though, Capcom Fighters. All of them. Ever (on the Dreamcast). I don't know if it's Capcom or not but Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is also worth mentioning. That and Sword of the Berserk but only if you're a fan of those anime series respectively.

Grandia II
Skies of Arcadia

and the Power Stone games.

I love my Dreamcast. Too bad it's broken. **sigh** I'd really like to play Skies of Arcadia again....

There were some great 2D fighters on the system. Street Fighter 3 is definitely worth getting yer mits on. Amazing game.

Do you live in the UK? I got it from a CEX store, along with the games for the grand total of... £5. Oh the joys of having a sibling working in retail :)
