I've played every game on my 360 that I intend to play and figured now was the perfect chance to buy a PS3 since they're on sale and come with a free game.

Now I'm looking for PS3 games that I should play. Let's start with PS3 exclusives. I'm thinking I'll start with InFamous and Ninja Gaiden Sigma, possibly Resistance or Killzone.

Suggestions?

Go for Uncharted (1, 2 and 3), Heavy Rain, and Ico and the Shadow of Colossus HD collection as well.

Gonna say the same thing that I said last time someone said they bought a PS3

I'm sorry to hear that.

Just seems like the system gets passed up a lot these days. I'm sure the people that have them love them, but I would never trade my Xbox for one.

i have the opposite experience for both you and the op.

ive had a ps3 for....3-4 years and last year got a xbox. after playing both, i would never get rid of my ps3 for multiple reasons:

A. blue ray
B. better user interface (i didnt mind the old xbox interface, the new one is just...terrible)
C. PS3 doesnt break down as often, and it is easy and cheap to fix compared to the xbox.
D. PS3 controllers are rechargable stock.
E. picking a particular PS3 system is very easy, basically what size hard drive do you want. for 360, you have to worry about what series (newer ones dont break down as often), wireless, hdmi, and hard drive size. it tooks about a week of research to find the 360 that was...bearable. basically a newer model with only 4 GB harddrive (since it was either that or shell out another 200 bucks for a hard drive that is way too big)
F. within the first few months, ive ran into numerous hardware and software issues with the 360
G. sony has given me free games during that hacking incident which didnt even affect me until they took netflix down for a few weeks. although sony still handled that situation terribly.

i will give microsoft credit though, they have excellent customer service. a situation that is normally causing me to tear out my hair turned into a relatively painless procedure. but i have a feeling this service is due to their equipment constantly failing. my cousin is on his.....3rd 360 i believe.

in terms of games, really the difference between the two is minimal unless you are a huge fan of the few exclusives that are left (i am personally a massive fan of disgaea). the fanboyism for either system is silly in this day and age with the current generation. while yes i prefer my ps3, i would not be terribly upset if i had to use the 360.

I'd recommend God of War III if you can pick it up for a reasonably low price.

Katamari Forever is awesome if you've never played the series before.

Also, I'd recommend you skip Resistance 1 & 2 as they have severe balance issues and go straight to the third instalment since there's hardly any story there to miss out on.

Oh, the Ratchet and Clank games (aside from that All4One bullshit) are good too. Not as good as the PS2 ones, but still a lot of fun.

I'm lucky enough to have not had any issues with my Xbox yet, despite having bought a used one. PS3s just seem to get shafted these days. They haven't had ANY of the cool ME3 objective weekends yet, their version of Skyrim is broken beyond repair, and they seem to be losing a lot of their exclusives.

Two great games.
Demons souls is a bad call unless he can complete it before the end of may, which is when the servers shut down.

On topic. One that always gets over looked is motorstorm, great racing games that start off easy and slowly get to a point where it is near impossible about half way through (well for me who is bad at racing games).

Resistance is another good series of games, I can't remember the first too well but the second was awesome (had great online co op, probably still does) and I haven't touched the third but it looks good and I doubt they changed much.

i only wish that the sequels for valkyrie chronicles were on the ps3.

nothing makes me madder than a series flip flopping between consoles/handhelds (see kingdom hearts)

and yet my copy of Skyrim has only bugged out once on me. But really..basing a decision on console of 2 games that are arguably not worth buying a console for anyways?

OT: get these games
1.Infamous
2.the ico and shadow of the collosus collection
3. the sly collection
4. the jak and daxter collection
5. red dead redemption
6. Legendary (in my opinion a hugely underrated and overly criticized game)

Edit: and 7. Infamous 2

I'm not saying there's anything inherently wrong with the system. But I have a PS2, and I can play all those collections whenever I want without having to buy a PS3, and RDR was on 360. Infamous is kind of neat, but I don't really go for the "big sandbox to cause mayhem" kind of games. And the problem with the PS3 Skyrim is that the game never stops rendering things when you get far enough away from it. Once you start playing for a certain amount of time, the game turns into a slideshow because the game is rendering every where you've been during your play session. That's pretty broken if you ask me.

Yes, especially since it led to smaller copy and paste maps. The story of VC2 wasn't great either, highschool settings got old ages ago and are silly in a wargame.

I do own both systems, but when i have the choice i always choose the ps3 version of a multiplat title. Even just not having to pay for Xbox Live makes it already more worth it. Combine that with the PS3s ability to play titles region free, so i can import them from the US for cheaper that i would get them in the EU new.

You might want to try out Dust 514 when it gets released. It will take consoles to new horizons. Whether or not it will be good is an entirely different matter.

A: Unless I want to watch overly priced DVDs with no discernible difference, I don't need it.
B:I'll have to agree and disagree with you on this. I don't like the PS3's UI, nor do I like the current 360 one, I prefer the old blade style.
C: I've had an 'Arcade' (i.e. the shit one) since launch and I've never had problems apart from the disc tray being a bit finnicky, but that's just its age showing, this is a matter of 'Your milage may vary'.
D: Again, I'll have to agree and disagree. I don't like how you have to shell out an extra $30 for a Play 'n' Charge kit, but I like the weight it adds to the controller.
E: Well, I bought the cheapest one, that was how I chose my xbox. I never knew that people actually researched the models before hand.
F: Like I said, I've had an Arcade since launch and not run into any problems (aside from my internet dropping half way through an update, but thats not the Xbox's fault), so its more of a console to console issue.
G: That's a situation which has long since passed, and can't be compared PS3 to Xbox because Xbox hasn't had any hacking incidents that major.

LittleBigPlanet! Get amongst LBP 1 & 2.

3D Dot Game Heroes if you like old school adventure a la the original Legend of Zelda. Might be hard to find, was a bit of a niche title.

Oh, and Infamous. Definitely Infamous 1 & 2.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the Team Ico HD Collection, and the Sly Cooper HD Collection.
