soooo, i ask you fellow Escapists, can you tell me of wich cool games i could buy for my ps3??
Since I like making unique contributions to a thread, I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest a game no one else likely will. If you're into immersive games where the action isn't really hectic, so much as sudden, and you like the idea of first-person melee combat, you'd do very well to pick up Condemned: Bloodshot. It's very fun, and extremely cheap ($20 brand new).

Well, it'll play your PS1 games, but unfortunately, in order to cut the cost of the system, Sony gutted the emulator that played PS2 games.
ouch... that hurt...

mmm... i bet i can make it run any game, even N64 games...

*goes to surf in the interwebs for info* ;)

Time Crisis 4 (If you have the kind of set-up that can accommodate standing and shooting at the screen from the recommended distance)
it is worth it!?!?!?!?

i love those kind of games i have finished any game that you have seing in arcades in that format (YES even Revolution X)

i never bought those kind of games

also!!! one quick question, i bougt a PS3 that says is not backwards compatible with all games, will it still play MGS3 and 2??? or FFVIII???, please tell me, i am dying here!! (one reason i wanted this PS3 was all the games i had from my ps2 and ps1)
Well worth it. Like I said, as long as you have the set-up to play it, GET IT.

As for Backwards compatibility, which PS3 do you have? 80GB? If so, MSG 2 and 3 should work fine, as well as FFVIII, but with FFVIII, something about the "Pre-battle transition screen" might not look right. Other than that you should be good.

Sony has a nice website up dedicated to finding out if games are compatible with certain PS3 models. Here's the link.

It isn't as good as the first one, as the game's atmosphere takes a dive around 80% of the way through, but it's still a fun game.

One answer is above all.

Vikings!

A lot of people don't like it because it isn't some generic FPS game.
how unusual, just the name made me want to buy it

if only to say "hey man look, VIKINGS!" and show him the case hahaha

yeah, it sounds good

No problem. I searched a few other titles, and it seems like most PS1/PS2 titles will work so long as you have the latest software update.

YEAH!!!, i went to buy a 360 elite (to replace my old 360) and well... i asked "what´s the difference??" "there is no difference aside from color and space"

damn... i thougth "why would i buy the same console again!?"

then i saw the ps3, and i asked the guy "how much??"

well, good thing i saved money, i had enough to buy it and 2 games (and the HDMI cable and the movie "the dark knight")

i am so happy, it feels so natural (the first console i bought with my money was a PS one)

soooo, i ask you fellow Escapists, can you tell me of wich cool games i could buy for my ps3??

i just bought MGS4 (i had to, i´m a fan boy) and the Killzone 2 (i heard it was good), any sugestions?? i love any kind of game, but i prefer to stay away from FPS (seing i already bought one) also, try to avoid games that are also in the XBOX, since i probably already have them in the XBOX

any aport is apreciated!
WARHAWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and look into MAG coming out later this year.

I'd recommend Prototype, Oblivion, Condemned, and either Street Fighter IV or Soul Calibur IV

Welcome to the PS3, first off.

Soooo games. InFamous is great, GT5 Prologue is a great one if you like sim racing, motorstorm if you like more arcade-type racing (plus the online is awesome). Unlike what one poster said, the clip on keyboard isn't worth is unless you spend a lot of time in Home. Oh yeah, check out Home. It's free and you might actually like it.

Since a lot of people have suggested retail games, there's some you can check out on the PSN store. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Fat Princess, Warhawk, Flower, Linger in Shadows (very weird but I like it), Pixel Junk Eden, ect.

Feel free to add me to your friends - GhosT8585

Stranglehold, was good.

As is Motorstorm

Warhawk is great for online

GH:WT as hell its fun

Burnout Paradise

LittleBigPlanet
... Half of those are multiplatform games. And GH:WT sucks compared to Rock Band. The graphics are not as good, the HUD is set up in a very unclear way and the setlist of Rock band is better. The only controller that is better on GH:WT is the Drum controller. I'm a rock band fan boy, but I have to admit, the drums are better. But since I play the guitar, I still vote rock band.
