Ahhh Just Cause 2, Crahing planes over and over again never gets old (not sarcasm, it really doesn't).

Just Cause 2 was an amazing open world game. I spent so many hours of my game just fucking around in that game, probably the best virtual play ground that has ever been created. What I liked about the DLC was that it was just fun weapons and vehicles to play around with, the vanilla game didn't need any expansion because it was already huge and amazing as it was.

Hopefully the PC Multiplayer is successful so that Just Cause 3 can use it as a model.

Truth for it being a playground. I mean, if you want 100% of the hardest difficulty, that's likely several thousand hours of gameplay you're looking at. And if you stick to easy it's still massive. You can play for a week straight and not be halfway through.

And because it's so over the top, you play the superhuman hero, a vandal, liberator, tough guy and a few other stereotypes at the same time.

Although I wish there was a choice to kill Sheldon for his horrible American accent instead of work with him.
I agree with everything else you said, but I like Tom Sheldon.

I'm not surprised that it's still doing well. It's one of the most fun games I've played.

Well, you're half wrong. The multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 probably has played it's part for the strong ongoing fanbase.

Just Cause 2 has a very impressive Multiplayer Mod [http://www.jc-mp.com/], if that what the original article was all about.

I still haven't even finished it, I have been busy dicking around.

JC2 was an absolute blast to play. On top of that, it has a character from my home town.....although his accent is terrible. Damn......now I want to play again. Good thing I never uninstalled it.

I'm not a fan of sandbox games in general (unless you count Bethesda). I got JC2 after Yahtzee's year end recommendation, and really loved it. It's the logical conclusion of pretty much everything from GTA3 onwards, minus the bawdy aspects and with a far less involved plot (good, imo).

I think I'm at 100% on all but one of the metropolis, and missing the random world drops like armor under highway overpasses. If I were in a dry spell I'd go back and play some more.

Am I the only one who thought that for all the hype about JC2 being endless fun, it really wasn't any better than the first one, and in fact due to the shoddy character models and hideous voice acting, was actually even worse?
The ridiculous voice acting is one of the things I like so much about the game. It fits in perfectly with the way it doesn't take anything seriously about itself. Everything about the setting, tone, characters, story, etc. is over the top and exaggerated to the point of silliness. Instead of just being a generic action movie it's a campy B movie, which gives it more personality and makes it more memorable.

I didn't think of it like that. It is true that its memorable, and certainly not to be taken seriously. Even at that though, I still think the likes of Saints Row 2 and Prototype do the aimless, insane fun part a lot better. Just my opinion.

Yeah, it pretty much comes down to a matter of taste at that point, and not everyone will like it or they'll like other things more. Those two are both good choices though. Can't really complain about them.

I never actully bought Just cause 2. This makes me want to go and buy it, new as well so that they can take my money for understanding how DLC should work.
