So as both the title and the link say, Just Cause 3 is confirmed for next year. Now I've only played the demo of the JC2 but it was a lot of fun and I've been meaning to actually play the game sometime, I guess now would be the right time to do it.

So Escapists are you happy? Sad? Excited? Ready to take up arms for some sort of crusade to ensure a great game?

I probably don't give a shit because the game will most likely feature microtransactions. That seems to be what the leaked screenshots suggest, and the founder of Avalanche had this to say a while back:

And I will not buy such games. It is that simple.

^I like to think that's a rather neutral comment where he's just saying "this is how things are going to be in the industry" and not actually saying "we are going to include this into our game(s)", but that might just be me being very optimistic about things...

...Gosh I hope that's the case, Just Cause 2 is one of my top favorite sandbox games, I'll die inside if number 3 ends up having microtransactions and other money-sucking models forced into it.

It makes me want to get off my arse and finally bother with Just Cause 2, which got acclaim from critics and the dudebro like friends I have, it must have something worth it to cover those grounds. Then I can look more into Just Cause 3.

Just Cause 2 is amazing. It's not just a Just Cause 1 sequel. I see it as a spiritual successor to Mercenaries franchise. It's really fun. There's not much of a story and there are very few story missions, but the things that you have to do in those missions are ridiculously AMAZING.

Had a read of the header, pants got a little tighter.
Checked out those screenshots, soul died a little.

The screenshots look heavily like its beyond f2p and we have full on pay to win.
But I want it for the single player so lets see how the development goes.

I got JC2 for free and being a trophy mark I decided to plat it because I really had nothing going at the time... I found the game alright at first... after plating it... I never want to play anything with the name Just Cause ever again.

Reading the comments in the link seems to reveal it won't have microtransations (unless you count DLC), so those on the boycott train can get off at the station.

Nice! Now I can't wait to find out more about it.

Why? JUST CAUSE! I'm sorry I HAD to.

I wasn't crazy about Just Cause 2, felt a little stiff to me, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why people liked it. I hope this next one has even more stuff to destroy, one of the problems I had with the last one was that it felt like a bit of a commute to get from one thing to destroy to another.

Apparently it isn't going to have micro-transactions after all, that is, according to the developers. And developers have been known to make many claims that have turned out to be complete lies, the fact that they were looking into micro-transactions is enough of a red flag.
Chalk me up to reasonably optimistic, but I'm going to wait until it's released before i make any concrete judgements.

The second game had a shit-ton of DLC. Most vehicles, but some weapons, too.

I think we'll be seeing that kind of thing... a lot. Saints Row III & IV and Borderlands 2 are dirty with it (guns, cheats, skins, etc.), but the core game still stands up without them. We're just going to be seeing a lot of .99 cent mustaches from here on out.

Yay! I loved Just Cause 2 - I've replayed it twice since (I never get anywhere near 100% because that's dull - more fun to restart and play the missions again - plus blowing up that island at the center was always fun). I can't wait to try out Just Cause 3.

Well, assuming I can still hook-shot and parachute my way around a giant-ass island.

Good news guys! It won't have any microtransactions [http://www.destructoid.com/just-cause-3-won-t-have-in-game-microtransactions-promises-avalanche-283719.phtml] nor be free 2 play, its basically going to be like Just Cause 2, once off purchase with lots of DLC later on to buy.

I can rest easy now.
