this actually looking excellent especially after disappointment of just cause 3.

Just cause 2 is still best third person open world game ever. so this could be too if it even as good as 2 and it looks like even better.

gotta love the new weather system. between this and RAGE 2. avalanche is on roll.

How was 3 a disappointment? It was a thousand times better than JC2. I mean quicktime events? Really?

Far Cry wannabe? Pass
Please tell me you're not serious. Far Cry wishes it was as fun as Just Cause. They both first appeared in the same generation, by the way.

I think I'll give it 1 or 2 more iterations before buying a new JC game. Just like Tropico, they don't really tend to add much with each sequel so it can be fairly disappointing to pay at full price.

Sticking up rocket up the ass of the local bovine population might be fun for you. I get bored with that very quickly.

Also, I didn't call it more fun. I called it better. Just Cause is the antithesis of gaming for me. Closely followed by GTA

Just Cause has a wonderful engine that allows for amazing hijinks, but the gameplay quickly becomes trite and the plot/story has been paper thin.

If they made Just Cause more like Far Cry it would be an improvement.

Just Cause has a LOT to do but it's often the same thing to do.

Yeah played a few of them, the crazy stuff you can do is amazing, but it just gets kinda samey after awhile. You're generally so overpowered that the enemy aren't really a challenge, so sure I could create some weird complex rude Goldberg machine to kill them, but I could also just shoot them and do just fine. Plus while I'll be trying to setup they'll attack me and might mess everything up. Plus a lot of the fun of sandbox comes from doing crazy thing you'd never do in real life in something that's kinda like real life, but just cause is so far remove from real life that it doesn't really work. It' kinda of like how saint row 2 is the most liked one, because it was just grounded enough to make things funny, later version let you do more but are so cartoonish that it doesn't really register as interesting.

I think just cause would be more interesting if it scaled back and slowed down. Less crazy toy but more polish on all of them. Make it more about carefully setting up the terrain for some guerrilla attack on the enemy, where you have to plan your things because otherwise they'll kill you very easily. Also no more ordering anything you want anytime you want, you need to work to get your crazy stuff, otherwise it just become banal and exploration is worthless.

Ah well you've got me pegged then. After all they don't call it 'Just sticking rockets up the ass of bovines and absolutely nothing else beCause" for no reason...

Like it or not Far Cry is becoming more and more like GTA with every installment. So I guess soon you'll just have to hate that too.

I'll be honest- I also skipped 5 after getting 3 and 4. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

That's not necessarily a bad thing depending on how the same thing's been implemented. Just Cause 2 did it well, Just Cause 3 messed it up because they wanted to sell more DLC.
