I'd definitley say skryim. The witcher 2 is also good.
EYE: divine cybermancy is a bit mental and complex but lots of fun when you get into it.
Oh, and far cry 3 is some of the most fun I've had for a while and Xcom is a brilliant tactical game.

If we?re talking mostly quick-paced and action-packed games, I would have to concur with ?Far Cry 3?, the new ?Tomb Raider?, the ?BioShock?-series, and the ?S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?-series. At a stretch ?The Witcher 2? and ?The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim?. I myself is a fan of the ?Dead Space?-games, as they have that gritty science fiction quality that, for example, the ?Mass Effect?-series lack (although those are very good as well).
To mention something not on this list that is very first-person shooter, the first thing that springs to mind, is ?Metro 2033?. Play that with Russian dialogue and English subtitles (if you are not Russian or Ukrainian, of course). I would imagine that the follow-up ?Metro: Last Light? released later this week will only have polished its meritorious qualities. You should also consider ?Mafia II?, as it is a wonderful amalgamation of racing and third-person shooter with a very engaging story, as was its precursor.
That?s all I could think of to write at the top of my head.
Guess what I'm gonna pick up this summer? LOL

Although, I already picked up Bioshock Infinite for Ps3, so no reason for that.

And the specs on my rig are as follows

AMD Phenom IIX4 840 processor runs a total of 3.2 GHZ
4.1 GB of RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD Raedon 6770 HD graphics card
AMD High def audio

It runs Bioshock Infinite and all those other games without a problem.

I just got Xcom on sale yesterday, gonna try it out now

Oh and one of the things I most look for in a game is immersive story with good characters.

Bit.trip & Half Life games, also anything shiny on the steam specials list.
Garry's mod & CSS is like wario ware as far as minigames & generally have lots of fun & varied game types like trouble in terrorist town & pirate ship battles.
There's all kinds of free games out there like Cave Story & Stealth Bastard, so don't be afraid to look for free games.
If you want to get the best mileage out of your games search for mods like the ones in Garry's mod & GTA. I mean, you can have hours of fun in GTA4 vanilla, but see how much more fun it is when you play as iron man or make your car weigh 9999.99 in the settings folders.
Lastly if you don't know that these abbreviations mean google is your friend. :p
PS have fun
PPS maybe get into programming. It's like the best sandbox ever because it's made by you for you. :D
