So I pre-ordered Portal 2 2 weeks ago, but got it today, instead of wednesday when it's accualy released, so my question is: have you ever gotten a game eartly, and doesn't it feel awesome?

Halo 3: ODST was delivered to my house about four days early, massively irritating my friends. It was a proud day.

I used to order games online at a site that almost ALWAYS shipped pre-ordered games early (especially when it was speculated that the game would get bad reviews), but since they demand standard german prices (55-60 Euro, wich is 85 US-Dollar or ~50 GPB) and UK-Shops are much cheaper (35-45 GPB, wich is 50 Euro or 73 US-Dollar), i rather wait a week or so for my pre-order to arrive nowadays.

That said, getting games early is still awesome.

I have never had a game early, but I have received a book early, not quite as exciting though, truth be told.

In the UK we are kind of all getting Portal 2 early on this Thursday thanks to Friday being "Good Friday" and a national holiday, so that's pretty awesome, especially as I don't have work Thursdays.

I got a DSi a few days before release. Months after they came out in japan, but it still left a fuzzy feeling of smugness in my heart.

Mass effect 2, Fallout NV, Assassins Creed and Dragon age 2
although with Dragon Age 2 it was rather annoying because it had a street date checker, so i couldnt actually play it til it officially came out... although i spose i got to install it early

I've had a few games appear early on my doorstep. Mostly what happens is I glare at it suspiciously a while, poke it from a distance and then try it out on a game system while standing well back. Woo paranoia.

Nope, but I never pre-ordered before Steam made it so convenient. Anyway since I preordered and preloaded Portal 2 on Steam I can play it the second it comes out if I want to, which is good enough for me.

I didn't get a game early, but got an album early, which I was ridiculously happy about at the time.

No, mine always end up being delayed (looking at you gotic 3) or on time. Oh well. :(

Have received books early though. :)

I once got the Nintendo Wii approxiametely 3 days earlier than launch. What really made me feel good about this though is that they then sold out EVERYWHERE about 7 days later. Envy feels good when it's directed towards your general direction...

Wal-Mart breaks street date all the time, because they're Wal-Mart; what are publishers gonna do? NOT let them carry their game?

I got Pokemon White a day before official Australian release. I wasn't super excited more of an 'Oh well that's pretty cool I guess' reaction.

no, but i do remember this happening to me:

on Steam, i pre-ordered dragon age 2. later, i realised i didn't actually want the bloody game, so i asked steam for a refund. since it wasn't out yet, they accepted. they sent me the money (50 euros) through my original method of payment, iDeal. after 2 weeks, the money still hadn't arrived, so i asked them to check. they said the money got stuck in transfer, and sent me the same amount again. 3 days later, i got two payments to my bank account, 50 euros each. that was weird, but fun
