How is it a waste? He can play the single player.

Wal-Mart breaks street date all the time, because they're Wal-Mart; what are publishers gonna do? NOT let them carry their game?
If it's a PC game then probably yes. They'll just release it on Steam instead.

I got Katamari Forever about 4 days before it came out, from Gamestop.

...yeah, that's about it for me.

No, he's saying "Why aren't you playing it? If you aren't then getting it early was a waste."

Yeah, it happens all the time when I pre order games from Play.com, not that I'm complaining, although my friend who lives like 5 minutes away from me get it the day after me which he finds irritating.

But yeah I'm actually expecting portal 2 in a few hours (UK) which is also 2 days before the release date here, so I'm gonna sleep in a few mins and hopefully get it in the morning, if Play continue to do what they've done over the last few years that is.

At the risk of sounding rude, dear God your spelling is atrocious, and I say this as a dyslexic person.

Anyway, no, I've never received a game early, but one cool thing about living where I live is that films tend to come out earlier here than than they do in the U.S. If I go really early to a morning showing, I have the theatre practically to myself. I almost feel like I'm some important critic getting my own pre-screening.

It's great fun and it becomes really interesting to compare my notes to reviewers in the U.S. who see it later.

When I worked for EA, twice they allowed us to purchase it from the EA Store the day before launch. Dragon Age was one, and I think Madden was another. Only $20 and I get the game a day early wasn't that bad.
