I don't tend to obsess too much anymore, but when I was about 15 I'd pull all nighters on rpgs like final fantasy XII, alundra, grandia. my little bro and I would compete get up the earliest to get some uninterupted time on the playstation, because during the day our parents made use use an egg timer to take one hour turns.

When I was like 7 maybe I can't remember how old; back in the day of PS1 and Spyro:Gateway to Glimmer. I'd spend forever on the game. Though I never managed to complete it...
I love that game! A friend and I managed to complete it once, but then there are extra bonuses for getting all the orbs and gems, but I could never get those last few...
There's just something about the PS1 Spyro games that just forces me to play them all through again every month or so, even though they're so easy. Bonuses are easy, I could play the entire game through, bonuses and all, in about 2 hours. Nope, they just don't make them like they used to. Not Spyro anyway.

I've racked up at least 3 or 4 months of my life in total playing Final Fantasy games, and I'm only eighteen. Dunno how I'm going to survive when XIII comes out, and that ecompasses 3 games...

Another franchise which hooks me in a similar fashion to spyro is banjo-kazooie. I just love a game that refuses to take itself too seriously.

Ammendment: calling my love of videogames an addiction implies it is a problem. I do not consider staying up three nights in a row to play Fallout 3 an problem. Not at all. Therefore, i do not have an addiction.

World of warcraft.

not so much the amount of time playing the game, as the amount of time thinking about it.
I would spend most of the day min/maxing the character in my head and thinking about gear and dungeon tactics. Had to quit cold turkey after it got out of hand, literally broke the CDs so I couldn't reinstall the *****.

Fallout 3, once I finally understood how to do stuff, where to go, where to set up 'base' and the like, then I would stay up till 2 and play for hours.

Now I'm sick of Fallout.

I used to wear a German helmet and a gas mask while playing Soldier of Fortune 2. Helps with the atmosphere.

My trusty DS says I've played 84 hours on my main save file in Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and completed 253 quests (and about beaten the game to death, or close enough for my tastes.) What it doesn't say is that those 84 hours of gameplay came over the span of about a week and a half when I also had a full-time 40 hour a week job. I spent an entire weekend in the comfort of my own bedroom relaxing and gaming (easily 30 hours' worth)---when I went back to work Monday morning my coworkers thought I looked like I'd gone on vacation.

I'm so obsessed with GTA Chinatown Wars that I've started to sell drugs.
...
Not really...lol

Ummm...I'm not sure which I'm more obsessed with. The RE series of the Legend of Zelda.

I have the Triforce tattooed onto me.

And I just paid $100 each for an opened copy of Resident Evil Code Veronica on the GC and RE Zero.

I could make a good claim for Gears of War, too...In every shooter game I've played since then, I've ALWAYS tried to do an Active Reload at least once.

My friend has a Hitman symbol tattoo on his arm. It actually looks quite good, and if a person doesn't know Hitman then it just looks like a swish logo, and a talking point if a person does recognise it.

Over 100 hours on the first disk of .//hack most of it in one sitting.. but still done in less than a week.. over 700 hours in first series, and for the whole of 7 disks, nearing 2000hours total.

Kingdom Hearts: Someone I knew was complaining about the whale, so I walked them through it, via phone, more specifically, via text messaging.
