Just go all the damned way. Design a race of sexually rapacious italian underwear models with pointy ears and neon hair that're born 18, have a lifespan of 7 years, then vanish into a puff of smoke. They dress entirely in pasties (think a more chic/modern version of Adam/Eve wear), they fuck to do literally *everything* (gain sustenance, rest, meditate, learn, excrete, all of it). And they'll have a go with literally anything. ANYTHING. There is no hole too inhospitable and no pole too intimidating. But they can't interbreed. They only ever spread their own genes. That way if you knock one up/get knocked up by one you can look forward to being the parent of a bubbly short lived whore.

Not sure if you meant it purely as a joke but I think you are actually on to something. I could totally see a game putting a race like this into it, I'll let them know it was your idea.

Reminds me of a time I was playing Dead or Alive 4 with a friend when my dad walked in. We usually just pick random and go at each other with that. That time, we both had female characters. He says, "now I see why you sit in here and play these games all day." I asked him, "why's that?" I honestly didn't get it at first.

OT: I find it annoying that this kind of thing happens. T'would be nice to have an option that you could turn on to have the armor actually be, y'know, armor and not just a metal bikini. To be honest, I think it's just being lazy. "Well, we can't think of any good looking armor, so why don't we just have barely any at all?" I would understand if it was on a mage kind of class, but if those are full blown melee warrior classes? No thank you, I'll take plate armor any day.

I'm all for the idea in the OP. Completely without irony. If you're making a sex fantasy, make a goddamn sex fantasy, and make it unbiased by gender or sexual orientation.

...but that would be fair-minded, and fair is not something the real world does well. Sex only sells well on a few very specific, heavily stereotyped lines. Tera'a advertising is merely an example of the most common of said lines.

Also, they really tried hard for the plastic bottle-blonde look there... not terribly appealing, at least to this guy.

Why do people get so worked up over this? It's just skin, it's not going to somehow destroy your playing experience. Right?
Other people will enjoy it so why not let the have it, if it's that big a deal then just don't get the game. I can't see why everyone gets so worked up over this in a game that was made for it.
Sure if they did this in a TES game then I could understand since they usaully have more realistic armour but this is a new IP and this was obviously designed into it. I see no problem with letting people dress their characters how they want even if it is actully retarded.

I want a balance. You can dress women up in metal lingerie that could pass for BDSM gear, or you can have her clad head to toe in battle armour (as long as you pay the strength penalties)

But equally, you can dress men in full battle armour, or you can have them running around in a chainmail speedo. Different strokes for different folks and all.

What I'm saying is that censoring all the sex is stupid, or society has sold things based on sex appeal pretty much since we discovered what that thing in between the guy's legs and not in-between the girl's legs was. So make the sex appeal universal.

Here's the thing though. Her armour still leaves the left arm and right thigh conveniently exposed. It's like they're screaming "cut me off!" Not to even mention the exposed chest, which happens to make that particular barbarian all the more vulnerable to arrows to the chest.

I believe that's the mid level armour look the male one is similarly exposed. The highest level armour is pretty much full plate mail. Also at least this lass looks like she has a bit of muscle to her.

Fair enough if they were the only race in the game, a measure of a good game in my eyes is one that gives players choice. If players want to dress up as some demonic succubus lookin' thingies they can, if they want to play as a generic armored person dojur they can, if they want to play as a pubescent neko girl then we can just alert the authorities.

In all seriousness the day humanity isn't allowed to have any fun with sexuality is the day I use the 'I don't want to live on this planet anymore' meme. Buncha' narks.

This really isn't an exception either. Most women in fantasy games are little more that masturbatory material. It's based on the prehistoric view that the only people who will want to play are adolesant males, therefore you MUST include some kind of sex appeal.

Men dress like they stepped inside a refridgerator with holes cut into it and women dress like...well like whores. It's just how it goes really. The only way to let them know this doesn't work is to not buy the games.
