Make sure you exercise.

I gained 15 lbs when i played wow. I have lost 2 and i've been off wow as long as i was on.
Thank you for the tip and concern. Sadly, in our more sedentary lives nowadays it's indeed hard to loose weight, but so easy to gain it...

Any tips for a class tho? :)

First of all, it's going to fucking suck playing a Priest. You will never get by soloing unless your friends is going to help you level 24/7. You go Warlock or Priest if you want a challenge. If you want an easy start, play a Hunter or Druid.

I would suggest getting a Questhelper mod. That will help traveling and make compleating quests a lot faster.

Okay I've got a problem with addons. The box to select them doesn't appear at my character selection screen... Do I need WotLK for them to work properly?

Did you install them properly? i.e. They go in the Interface/Addons folder in the WoW folder.

I don't think you need WoTLK yet, my girlfriend can use questhelper with just the original game installed.

Well I've got GHI in there but it won't select. I'll try it again.

Get out while you still can.

Mumorpagers are like crime. Once you get in, you're in for life. Try to get out, you go insane with guilt or craving.

Shaman was always my favorite class. Tough enough to solo most quests, thus allowing you to avoid being drafted into one specific role for your group of friends. Seriously, I hated it when others insisted that my class was specifically for one purpose and no other. I understand the necessity of roles when tackling the higher level dungeons and stuff, but come on... It's a game, not a job. Let me play my way.

Theres also the possibility the mod you're trying to run is considered out of date for the patch. Theres a little "Load out of date Addons" button at the top of the addon list. It should still work even if it is a patch behind albeit it may bring up the odd error warning. If the mods aren't appearing at all its probably in the wrong folder.

Pick a race/class combination that you find interesting.
IT's the only way it'll ever be fun.

If you spec it right, a warlock can be one of the easiest classes to solo as, and it was always my favorite. Soulgems to back you up if you die, healthstones to keep you from dying, and a pet to keep you company. Not to mention being able to drain tank while soloing. I'd find myself fighting mobs so I could gain health.

Edit: However fun I found it, I still uphold that play whatever interests you to level 15 and try something new.

A similar question to all of you WoW connaiseurs:
I love playing like a sniper in Battlefield games, and would like to do the same in WoW.

So I should go for a Hunter?
Or is a Rogue better for stealthily killing off bad ass monsters from a distance?

Maybe this'll help, but in the Diablo games I really like the Rogue and only use the bow's and their associated spells (multiple arrows, guided arrows etc.).

I also enjoyed playing as a spammer of Hydra's on other playthroughs, but the killing from a distance with arrows is my favorite ('Kiting' in WoW speak?).

Another question: Is it even possible to zoom in with weapons at all? :)

Sorry for being a n00b, but please answer... ^_^
In WOW rouges are a melee class and have barely any range there class is based on stealth and stuns. If you like range style of play you would prolly want to roll a hunter, you cant zoom with weapons in WOW

I'd steer clear of pvp servers. It's all opportunistic "ganking" and almost never any fair or reasonable matches.

I hear they've made the game really easy in the last couple of years (been a long time since I've played).

Edit: When I was playing, locks were so overpowered it's silly.

Thanks very much for the info!
I guess a Night Elf Huntress it will be then :)
I've already played with the Talent Calculator already based on this.
Seems like fun, probably so much fun I'll not sleep for the next three days :p

Nevermind it's working fine. Vista didn't put them in the Public section ¬_¬
