Now don't get me wrong, I love the 3DS, it's my most played system currently. I went to the E-shop to see if Shovel Knight was on it yet today, since I forgot to check net for release dates...to see they'd added trailers for Metroid Fusion! and Super Metroid! I watched them with anticipation, only to discover...these games are going to be for the Wii and WiiU only. Despite having ported them to the 3DS already for the early adopter program (which I missed) they're *STILL* holding to the 'lol we're never going to give them to you portable plebs' statements...gah.

False Hope...how I hate thee.

You know, I never understood exactly why Nintendo hasn't released the Ambassador Program games for people to purchase yet. It seems like they are afraid of money. I mean hell, they literally have to do no work because the games from the Ambassador Program are already all made for the 3DS and work just fine (I have Fusion, Minish Cap, and Amazing Mirror). So, I don't understand why they don't just release the games and charge like $4.99-$9.99 for them at all because they were giving it out for free before.

If it's because then the people who got it for free would be pissed off, then screw them. We got the games for free, as in no charge at all, and if other people have to pay for them then so what. They'd get to experience the games as well on the go and would be able to have fun with them.

I have to agree as well, as while the DS emulator for the Wii is exciting, I have no idea why Nintendo decided "let's put handheld GBA games on our home console instead of our handheld device." At the same time, they've not done anything about supporting GameCube games, which you'd think they'd of done something already. I mean heck, if they offered Smash Bros Melee as some sort of GCN Classic on the Wii U, then it'd sell, and then you could literally play every single Smash Bros game on one console.

In the end, I don't know. I'll just chalk it up to Nintendo being afraid of money and success. :/

I know, right? I wrote them emails on multiple occasions hoping for people just 'saying something' as opposed to a bottom line, but their official stance seems to be 'absolutely under no circumstances ever will we release any games from the early adopter program for sale on the 3DS ever.'

And the 'plus' to these games on the WiiU seems to be 'look you can put them on the derpy tablet thing on the go!

Believe me, I LOVE Nintnedo games with all of my heart. Many of my favorite games, in both current and past years, are by Nintendo. However, they have some of the worst business practices of all time. Not only does it hurt them, but it just annoys the consumer. Why can't I play Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga on my 3DS? The ambassador program thing is total bs. It made sense when the console was new, but putting GBA games on sale for all 3DS owners will change nothing, except give Nintnedo more money. It makes no sense at all.

I'm still waiting for account systems. Really be nice if I knew a game I bought would still be re downloadable 5 years from now.

I have no idea why they charge what they do for the older games or why they refuse to release them on 3DS.
My 3DS is an Ambassador System, and I still think they badly need to put the games I got up on the market, just to give it more value.

Though right now, I can definitely see why they would withhold games for the WiiU...dirty as it is, it's a way to sell units.

I suppose Nintendo thinks it would not recoup its cost in sales to convert games to the 3DS platform, to host the games on its site for sale, or both.

Yah, exclusive stuff like the Ambassador Program (and the Wii U Deluxe) irk me as well, as it makes me feel like my money wasn't as worthwhile to Nintendo. Really, the worst part of the Ambassador Program is the fact that they make it so others can't enjoy these great games that they might of missed on the GBA, like Fire Emblem or Mario & Luigi.

Also, still waiting on some Cross Platform System so that I can play some of my 3DS VC games on my Wii U and vice versa. I don't want to buy a second copy of Zelda 1 or Mario 2 just so I can use them on the other system.

Yeah, I don't get it either, which is why I sometimes I just say fuck Nintendo and run those games through emulation on my Linux handheld. I do own the GBA carts, so I don't feel bad about doing that.

I actually admire Nintendo for this, they released those games to people who bought their system before the price cut. It's sort of an apology to early buyers and putting those games up for sale would kinda cheapen that apology in a way.
