It looks like trash and I hate to say this because I loved Batman V Superman.

It was this genuinely subversive, kinda artsy movie that very nearly brought the genre to a new level, that engaged critically with it's characters and their place in popular culture while at the same time delivering a some visually interesting action.

And what you move onto is "Uhhh, there are superheroes and they have to fight generic alien invaders and they make bad jokes once in a while" and it's absolutely depressing. DC had something interesting going on but Suicide Squad was generic, badly directed trash, and while Wonder Woman is probably better it has still been compared to a Marvel movie.

My last remnant of good will I had for Justice league went out of the window when they got Joss Whedon to direct. Whedon always was a completely inept cinematic director, did some great work on television but never directed an especially good movie. It's just gonna be another Avengers now, exactly what I had hoped the DCU wouldn't turn into.

At least we got one good movie out of it...

Looks pretty good. Hits all of the bases I expected after the criticism of BvS; more colour, more jokes. Plus, the entire film appears to be one large fight scene. I can get behind that.

Green Lantern would be a pleasant surprise. Fingers crossed it's Nathan Fillion. That's entirely possible now that Whedon is involved.

Hey, man. This is what the people wanted. It's not what you specifically wanted, but them's the breaks.

I know, I know. And it's not like I didn't expect it to go that way, again, I've seen Suicide Squad which was like a chimera of everything I didn't like about Avengers, everything I didn't like about Guardians of the Galaxy and everything I didn't like about Deadpool.

I don't need movies to be made for me and if it finds an audience then good on it. To me this just seems like the cinematic equivalent of the developers of a game you liked prefacing the trailer for its sequel with "We want the Call of Duty audience"
But again, I'm happy with having gotten one movie out of it that I liked.

Alright, that was better than I was expecting. I swear it's gotten more colourful since the last one. Just a better selection of scenes or did Whedon swap out the image filters while Snyder wasn't looking?
Whedon actually did. There are some side-by-side comparisons online between this trailer and the last one. The one I saw was Wonder Woman in that hostage situation. It was quite a bit brighter and colorful.

OT: I'm warming up to Flash. He is selling the rookie role and Ezra Miller showed up to ComiCon in Fullmetal Alchemist cosplay.

All in all, I liked what I saw but I also still don't expect much. It's hilarious that Supes is (or was) supposedly a beacon of hope now. I really doubt we're getting a MoS sequel at this point. Cyborg looks like shit. He will never belong in the Justice League and I can't believe they actually chose him instead of John Stewart or Black Lightning (not just in the movies too). Aquaman could be great but I think they also might take him too far. The CGI reeks of Snyder, but you know what, fine. After Wonder Woman I guess this is what all DCEU action is, panning camera shots across dark and smokey CGI backgrounds.

Superman is dead and buried though, and they've done nothing to show how Batman could bring him back. And Steppenwolf literally mentions Earth's lanterns in the trailer.
I think its much more likely Batman figured out about Lanterns and signaled to one, rather than expect Superman is rising from the grave.

Besides which Momoa has been tweeting out pictures of Green Lanterns saying there's a fucking amazing announcement coming.
Superman is 100% in this movie. He is credited in the cast, has already been in promotional materials, has a Hot Toys model, and has a new(ish) suit for the movie. And his being dead and buried was immediately ruined by all that shit at the end of BvS. If we're talking colors the shoulder we see is red which could be his cape. Alfred acted like he knew him and he was shocked that he was back. Also on my screen that light looks more blue than green. If you wanna talk about green lights, look at 3:14 at the trailer. There's some green shit on Bats' plane.

That said, I think GL could totally be in this movie. That line from Steppenwolf would be a dumbass addition if a Green Lantern didn't show up. We know from the Unite the 7 campaign that there is one last unknown member of the League, and Shazam's movie is in 2019, so Green Lantern is the most likely choice. I have a feeling Steppenwolf will kill Abin Sur and during the movie the ring will find its way to Hal Jordan or whoever they will choose to be Green Lantern.

It looks pretty green to me, but maybe that's just my monitor. But who do you think it is?
I think that glow isn't from the person, and is from one of the myriad of computer displays in that room that Alfred is in.

Besides, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to build up the Superman angle, and then not have him show up.

Personally, I'd like for it to be a Lantern, as I'd like to see if they could do something with it. But did they ever establish that Bruce would know a Lantern would show up? Never saw BvS so I don't recall if that was ever planted.

Even though that we saw the dirt rise on Superman's coffin at the end, indicating he is alive.

I don't know. A part of me feels like GL might not be in the film.
