Just, oh dear.

Despite your feelings toward Bieber, it's pretty foolish to not admit that this is a *great* marketing scheme by MS. Although he has no shortage of haters, he still manages to remain intensely popular (and, strangely, has a much more solid male fanbase than most would like to think). There will no doubt be a spike in sales. Oh, and, just a side question, how old is this writer? He sounds to me like he's somewhere in the 20-30 range, which makes his apparent hatred for Bieber all the more pathetic. You'd think that someone that age could find something more productive to do than bash a 16-year old kid, no? Maybe that's just my intelligence talking, though. That darn brain of mine...
You made an account just for that?

I think this confirms that no hardcore gamers are going to buy this product now. I know I'm not. Even at a party it makes you lonely, according to that video.

As pointed out on Feedback, it's ironic that the serious gamers and journo's were shown Kinect at E3 and none of them are the target audience.

OT: Oh, and who the f*ck dresses Bieber? Because they seriously don't have a clue.

Man, that'd be funny.
German? No, no; they don't have that word in America...
Nope, no sir we do not. We don't much care for the word German or Germany. They don't exist as far as we're concerned, in fact we're denying the existence of this country entirely just like they are within the time period of 1934 and 1945.

When we refer to that horrid place we call it Deutschland and them the Deutsche.

[sub]Nothing against you, I just really wanted to get that out of my system. I haven't made a bad joke in three days... it's horrible. And now I'm back to not caring about what Microsoft does. They could hire anyone and I wouldn't buy the Kinect, not until the price drops or good games come out. The potential is wasted as far as I am concerned.[/sub]
OK then; you do know I'm taking the piss out of the interview Bieber had when he read the word German from a cue card and said he'd never seen it before though, don't you?

I wish someone could brainwash Justin 'Thrush' Beiber into moving to a remote deserted island and never return.

It is also bad business because it seems to ignore the 40 Million Xbox 360 consoles already sold with Halo and Gears of War as their killer aps, all those people chose 360 over Wii on the mantra of "Xbox is the committed Gamer's gaming console".
What?

Half of Microsoft's presentation of E3 was, yes, Kinect. The entire other half was Gears, Halo, Metal Gear Rising, and more...all games aiming at the 'hardcore'. The 'hardcore' of the 360 is there. It's set in stone. Developers know this, Microsoft knows this. That's why they are coming out with Kinect now. The 'hardcore' player has plenty of games to enjoy, and look forward to, on the 360, but now so does their 'casual' younger sister, or mom, or dad, or friends, or spouse.

It's about making the 360 open for all sorts of people.

You're doing it wrong, Microsoft. This is an artist that will attract gamers:
OT: But in all seriousness, this probably decreased my respect for them.

Very very intelligent move by Microsoft. Dumb people the world over will eat this up.

Hmmff, well it sure felt more half empty of hardcore games rather than half full (also trying to forget Cirque du Solei).

I mean I was worried with how many third party multi-platform releases Microsoft were leaning on, like COD: Black Ops, MGS: Rising. I mean those games are also on PS3 and PC with the same or more features... if you don't go the exclusivity angle, what makes people want to get their system over others or sick with Xbox? Just hoping people will forget about the competition? Yeah, PS3 did mention non-exclusive games but only for their exclusive features like beta access or extra game pack-ins.

Also, lack of exclusives, Halo: Reach this year, Gears of War 3 next, while Microsoft and Nintendo blitzed us with an incredible number and variety of exclusive games and new announcements and big reveals. Microsoft's core games were reduced to a warmup-act, and the "casual section" took up 2x the time of the hardcore - so more like 1/3rd or time was "dedicated to hardcore".

yeah, technically it is true "Xbox 360's hardcore gamers has plenty of games to enjoy" but not much to make them grateful they got an Xbox 360.

Pretty much the only reason to own a 360 over the next 12 months is Gears of War 3 and Halo: Reach (Fable 3 I'm getting on PC... where RPGs belong).

My 2-pence on "casual" gaming: if I wanted to get my non-gaming friends or relatives into gaming I would not start with Kinect... it has no potential for growth. it does not introduce to them how to ACTUALLY play games, is has such a basic and gimmicky interface. No, I think the Wii (and maybe Move) is ideal for that, as the Wii Mote has the intuitiveness for a novice yet flexibility for great growth. It can be a "flailer" but quickly it can become a precision instrument as their skill increases, aiming and pointing, precise sword strikes etc.

See there is no way to shove an Xbox 360 controller into their hand to get used to it, Wii mote is already in their hand getting them familiar. Kinect could only ever be for gesture and posture based game and that locks out humanity's greatest ability: fine motor control of our fingers and hands.

Oh no. A company uses a celebrity to promote a product! DOuble oh noes, a company uses product placement to promote a product! So much brainwashing! Oh wait, it happens every day, but when it's not Microsoft and Kinect, nobody cares or notices.

It's cool guys, only stupid people would buy the Kinect for this reason, if anything we should praise Microsoft for abusing the stupid legally.
I'd kill for that kind of power.

My god first Kinect is born from the death womb which will ruin the console and then they cement who they now view the target audience for 360: Bieber fans and the rest of the worlds accidents

Precisely why I said I had nothing against you. And you probably know what Deuschland and Deutsch(e) mean, which is the whole point of my joke being horrible.
