Or, you know, "I am somewhat annoyed with this newest product of the pop culture machine. I will write and post a five-minute Firefox plugin that blocks his name and likeness, as the existence of such a thing is something I and others like me will find amusing."Matt_LRR said:Oh no! The Germany thing was because he thought he was being asked about the "jew man" (german) thus his response, "we don't say that in America". His grandfather is German - he knows what Germany is. <- (this is like the one story I actually know, because t was covered on a weblog I happen to frequent)Skylane14 said:Ah, this is where the difference stems from: Your life is mostly Bieber-free, whilst I'm still suffering from having female friends who are obsessed with him. As to the ignorant part, there's the fact that he doesn't know what Germany is, and as the arrogant part, he thinks he's any better than the stars coming out of Disney, when they're cut of the same cloth.Matt_LRR said:I was just being snarky. I don't care about bieber. If that's what the kids are into these days, well, good for them, I guess. In my not caring about him, I have never had opportunity to hear any of his music, nor have I any desire to seek him out.
My existence is already mostly bieber free, because I just don't pay any attention to him, day to day.
(though I would argue that the few clips of him I have seen that he is basically the same as any other suddenly-famous teen pop star. He's naive, and thinks he's not a manufactured idol, but he seems perfectly plesant about the whole thing. I've not seen anything to suggest that he is particularly ignorant or arrogant. And by all accounts, manufactured pop idol or otherwise, the kid can sing.)

Thank you Matt, you've summed up my view precisely and succintly, and that's greatMatt_LRR said:Oh no! Naivete is just a shade away from arrogance. He assumes he's better than them, and that he's "accepted" by the hip-hop community, but the second he manages to piss of his backers, well, to quote the great Mickey Rourke playing Whiplash, "There will be blood in the water, and the sharks will come."Matt_LRR said:The Germany thing was because he thought he was being asked about the "jew man" (german) thus his response, "we don't say that in America". with regards to the second part, it's because he thinks he's not manufactured. He is, but that's naivete, not arrogance.

I can totally prove it, but is he under 18? Because if so, the pictures I have as proof are illegal.Skylane14 said:I don't think you can prove that, sir.danpascooch said:Lol, he's the same thing as Hannah Montana, except he's, you know, got a dick.Matt_LRR said:... him?Quiet Stranger said:I think people don't like her cause she has really shitty make-your-ears-bleed music and whenever I look at her....I'm just disgustedMatt_LRR said:Oh no! It's pretty funny that someone made this slip.
Oh, and Matt? I respect you, LRR is great, you are an awesome performer. But in this case, you are Dead. Wrong. I don't despise Bieber because I'm jealous, I despise him because he's an arrogant, ignorant little ^%!@ and doesn't have any musical talent. And I sure as hell don't envy his ability to attract screaming hormonal fangirls, I got 99 problems but...well, you get the picture![]()
And here comes the bandwagon overcompensation, where you HAVE to like him or you are just another misinformed bandwagon jumper with no opinion of their own.Trivun said:Thank you Matt, you've summed up my view precisely and succintly, and that's greatMatt_LRR said:Oh no! As I posted on my earlier thread several days ago about the hatred for Justin Bieber, I don't see why everyone has to hate him. The entire thing is just like the hate for Twilight and other similar things - that is, people don't bother to give it a try (how many people on this thread have ever willingly heard a Justin Bieber song so they can make up their own minds about him?). I'm probably the only person on this thread who has, correct me if I'm wrong here people, and I think he's actually a very talented guy. He has a pretty good voice, I feel. But people hate him because he's popular and teenage girls especially like him (which is to be expected since he's a 16 year old guy), and so people think he shouldn't be allowed to exist in the music industry. Which is stupid.
My point is basically that people are narrow minded fools and do not have any right whatsoever to form an opinion on something until they have willingly tried it for themselves.
Well, no, if you've given him a try and decied from your own experience of listening to him that you don't like him, then that's your right and I'm perfectly agreeable to you having that opinion, even if I personally disagree with the opinion itself. What I'm getting at is that most people here have jumped on the bandwagon, and that's what I feel is wrong. That's why I feel that people shouldn't have the right to an opinion unless they can make an independent informed decision themselves, with experience to guide them. I don't care if someone likes Justin Bieber or doesn't, as long as the person has given him a fair chance and isn't one of the bandwagoners. And the same applies to Twilight, Halo, and everything else that has attracted a hate-wagon from people who don't even give it a chance.danpascooch said:And here comes the bandwagon overcompensation, where you HAVE to like him or you are just another misinformed bandwagon jumper with no opinion of their own.Trivun said:Thank you Matt, you've summed up my view precisely and succintly, and that's greatMatt_LRR said:Oh no! Seriously, is it THAT hard to believe that I came to my own conclusion to hate him?
How about the reply where someone compares him to Hitler... Obsession is a sad, sad thing.Zing said:I pretty much love some of the replies the guy gets. This is my favourite so far
Mum just showed me that she did block justin bieber on the computer. So ive locked myself in the bathroom and im crying.
I...I don't even want to know why you have pictures like that...in fact, those pictures don't exist. Ever. Just for my sanity's sake.danpascooch said:I can totally prove it, but is he under 18? Because if so, the pictures I have as proof are illegal.
Alright, just wanted to make sure.
