I'd download it, but I don't know if it'll let me watch this.

You sir win half an internet for exposing more people to that video.

OT: +10 to Faith in Humanity score.

I'm installing a plugin that censors anything that has anything to do with a Fortune 500 company.

Crap! Where'd the Internet go?!

This is probably the best add-on in the history of everything. In fact, I'm using it right now.

Justin Bieber! Justin Bieber!

IT'S ALL GONE! THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

I don't understand the hate for Justin Bieber.
No one is making you listen to him, so stop whining.
You don't need an add on to avoid listening to him.

dude, 11 year old girls are getting more angry about Bieber than muslims get about Muhammad...

At least the anti bieber add on is more popular than fans for his haircut...

Oh no! Some kid is richer than my wildest dreams, and has every teenage girl on the planet obsessing over how to get into his pants! This messes with my worldview, as I am older than he is, broke, and posting from my mother's basement! I must eliminate all record of this phenomenon from my sphere of entertainment, as he reminds me of what I'll never have!

Nice sweeping generalization there, bud. Ever stop to think that maybe some people don't like Justin Bieber because he makes bad music? Sure, he has a lot of things that most people don't have at his age, but that doesn't mean that every single person who doesn't like him must be jealous of him.
1. I was being snarky. I do not think that everyone who dislikes Justin Bieber is actually as described above.

2. Point being, if you just don't like something you ignore it. We've done it with nickelback and creed for years. The absurdity of installing, or worse yet writing, a browser extension to block him from view implies a certain degree of irrational, bandwagon-jumping, trendy-hate that is laughable and a little sad.

The glee some people in this thread are showing in the idea deserved a piss-taking.

do people really run into that often? I never run into a page about the kid unless its a thread complaining about him.

so really the people who complain hi are more annoying then the kid himself
Oh the irony!
OT: What point is there to making this? Was someone very bored? Sounds like a waste of resources...

Meh. Don't really care about it, to be honest.

Also, I thought you lot were against censorship?
Nah, those people are apparently so much against censorship that they think only things they like should be uncensored... Damn hypocrites.

I don't see what the whole big deal is with both Bieber, Gaga, and whatever other spawns of modern culture. There is no such thing as "good music". Even some more or less objective things like, I dunno, rhyme, complexity and so on, don't necessarily make a song liked.

Let people like whatever they fucking want. I'm much into punk, metal, hard rock and rock'n'roll. And a lot of other genres. I don't give a fuck about what anyone else listens to, it's their own time and their own preference.

It's just like fucking Twilight. The problem about it is not that vampires "aren't real vampires", because there is no such thing as a "real vampire", established fantasy stereotypes suck as can be showcased by all the Tolkien wanna-bes, and Dracula is as much a bastardization as Edward, Eddie, or whatever the fuck that guy's name is. The only problem is that what's her name is a bad writer.

It seems to me that a lot of us nerds are so insecure about "being manly" that they attack every thing that doesn't fit that standard. Romantic sparkly vampires!? Oh noes! Some music tween girls listen to!? Oh noes!

Get over yourselves.
We aren't hypocrites. As you may notice it is a self-censoring addon. If all of a sudden firefox permanently censored out "Justin Bieber" then there would no doubt be an uproar.

Also, in my opinion the twilight hubbub was not about rewriting the "real vampire" it was about taking something cool that a group of people liked and refocusing it to another group of people that the first group of people didn't like anyway. The author took something that we liked and changed it, its like if someone takes the idea of your dog and portrays him as a gun-toting, ruthless, baby killer (if that makes any sense at all).

Oh yes, and being a girl I'm not remotely interested in being manly. This Bieber fellow just sits there getting life so easy. Naively coasting by while we actually work for things. We learn lessons that he could not grasp without any hardship. He doesn't know that he is manufactured (as Matt said) and that angers us. Because of this it is not jealousy that makes us dislike him, we don't want to be that manufactured person. I believe it is that we are disgusted that people look up to this, that this influences their lives.

That's what I think, anyway.

After installing, I have to say that it doesn't work very well. I'm getting firefox (currently using chrome) to see if it works better

That's kind of funny, but I'd see it as more of an annoyance than anything after a while.
Are you really looking at that much Justin Beiber stuff?...

Sorry I have no idea what this thread was about.

Some word or a few appear to be censored, I cannot see them. Oh well the thread must not be important.

No, but with how often a Bieber hate thread pops up on The Escapist, I think it would get annoying after a while. I also don't use Firefox, so this wouldn't work for me anyway.

Funny. When I first saw Justin Bieber on the cover of a magazine, I thought he was a girl. No kidding, I thought he was one of those girls with those short brown haircuts, but then i read the name justin. The first time I heard him on TV, his voice almost made my ears bleed becuase It was so high. It sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

After looking at how it censors it, I find this to be possibly making it worse for those who try to ignore it.

Tell me, which catches your eye more?

The Words "Justin Bieber"?
Or a giant Censor bar which you know represents the words "Justin Bieber"?

I won't be bothering with this to begin with, but even if I did hate this person that much, it only seems to make him more noticeable.

So... pointless no matter what your stand on him is, I suppose.

The fact that an add-on like that exist just really reinforces my trust that firefox is truly the only browser I will ever want to use. Oh, firefox. Will you ever stop amazing me? lol
