I can't help you if you are using a mac, but if you are using windows then go to "My Computer", and on the little options bar at the top select "uninstall or change program"

Download Puppylinux. You can run it off a usb stick or CD. It contains a file manager that shows you in pretty colours what's taking up what space. All the info I have on it sorry. You'll have to google for more info.

If you use a mac, try the downloads section of the Apple website, or www.pure-mac.com.

I can't link either of them because they are blocked right now.

glary utilities =]

it has a module that does that.

EDIT
http://download.cnet.com/Glary-Utilities/3000-2094_4-10508531.html?part=dl-6280556&subj=dl&tag=button

disk analysis [under "files and folders" in modules] shows you everything on your harddrive with the amount space taken up by them

You're looking for a new operating system?
Try Treesize.
It's freeware, and tells you exactly what takes up what. It's awesome.

work if i had that folder haha -raucaus laughter-
what im looking for here is just something that i can specify to show me folders that take up more than, say, 10gigs a piece and then look through and see what eating my hard drive space. as much as it makes me want to throw up blood and break things with my head, i dont mind vista, and dont have the time or patience to go with a new OS
