I remember when Kanye made pretty good music and didn't say anything stupid.

What happened to him?
I mean really, I haven't kept up with much he's done in years but what in the caterwauling hell happened to him?

As a Human from Earth, I'd like to comment on how he is allowed to wear what he wants, just like you or me.

However, any black guy could have worn the confederate flag and claim to take the symbol for himself, but because Kanye is a celebrity, he gets a spot light for it. Which leads me to believe it may be a publicity play.

"oh look at me everybody, I'm a black guy wearing the confederate flag! LOOK AT MEEEE" Ect.

My only advice would be, let the baby have his fun and just fucking ignore him.

So why is it the the comment section of these articles about Kanye West doing this, that people are defending him? WHY?!?! In all seriousness I must ask WHY do people follow any crap that Kanye West says and does but more important people get ignored.
Please do not take this the wrong way, but I believe if you could find the answer to this question, you'd be able to solve some of the biggest problems in the black community.

Kanye, honestly, you're a musical genius. I want to hate you, but your music shows a genuine talent that's actually rare in mainstream music, well, usually, and usually, when you fuck up musically, you at least do it interestingly. It's at least a huge, ball-of-flame disaster rather than just being dull.

Just...don't speak. Don't. Don't try to be an intellectual, because it's kinda obvious you're not. In fact, you're an idiot. Sometimes, you're a fucking hilarious idiot. Others...you're downright offensive and embarassing. Stop it.

Trust me I am not taking it the wrong way because I am also wondering that myself and have asked before but never get a straight forward answer. Thank you though :)

Unfortunately media has taken racial sterotypes and now sell it back to us as normal.

Aftereveningnoon Escapist,

Oh Kanye West, since when were you the spokesperson for black (Afro-Caribbean) people. "New Slaves"?? Are you trying to make a political point here? First the "N" word is more normalised BUT can't be used out of a certain race but now you want the confederate flag to be "ours". Before certain people call me a fucking "token" or "Uncle Tom", stupid nonsense like that, I am honestly getting fed up of this.

http://edition.cnn.com/2013/11/04/us/kanye-west-confederate-flag/

Should I defend this man because he is the same race as me? NO. I won't and I refuse too because using something that has been a symbol (you can even say word) to put down your own race and saying it's ours and no one else can use it is, just confusingly stupid. It's like the Jewish community using the Nazi's Swastika as a normal good thing. They wouldn't do that. So why is it the the comment section of these articles about Kanye West doing this, that people are defending him? WHY?!?! In all seriousness I must ask WHY do people follow any crap that Kanye West says and does but more important people get ignored. You can say its entertainment and money but people are stupid are they? Are you trying to make a point by saying, "This has been used to suppress my people and fellow race, so now we will use it to show others it does not stop us from achieving greatness and overcome diversity". I would totally understand that but maybe just, I don't know, not give it any attention so it doesn't gain more power?? Maybe try that. Point is I will be seen as a black person who doesn't defend the actions of Kanye West and others because for some reason I should and black people should always stick together... NO not when shit like this happens. Should I defend Obama for being drone loving war criminal that kills innocent civilians because he is half black? NO. Further more stop with the "Token" or "Uncle Tom" comments just because something has been disagreed.

Off topic thing here but remember the days when Rap and R 'n' B was about life, having a good time and even telling a story about things can be tough at times and how they overcame it? Remember those days, or is it just me?

Please let me know what you think of this matter and if I am just overreacting or have a point. Sorry some of you may have no idea what I am talking about but if you do, please let me know what you think. It's me just asking a question about what and why.
Wait, rap was about life? All I remember it being was about "Bitches" and the word "******!" every few seconds.

OT: Yea, Kanye is a fucking moron. Always has been. Let him continue to act stupid. I will be over here, ignoring the fact that he exists.

Come on man, don't be silly. Yeah, it can be like that, just like country music can also be describe as "white men crying over that damn woman that broke their hearts" but you also got great shit like Johnny Cash.

Kanye West is a narcissist. Seriously. He has every symptom of narcissistic personality disorder. Everything he says is pure bullshit because he's only saying things to inflate his own ego even further. Just ignore him.

It used to be that rampant egomania didn't get such easy access to a major audience; I personally suspect that Kanye isn't the first to suggest such ludicrous claims, but nowadays he just has access to a way to make sure a lot of people hear him.

In the end it isn't that we should forget the past or the plights therein, but frankly, he isn't 'reclaiming' a symbol that's uncomfortable for a lot of people, he's really just making it even -more- uncomfortable on purpose. Nothing moves stock like publicity, controversy, and scandal after all. Just ask Bioware about the ME1 numbers.

Clearly his publicity stunt has been a success.

Point: Kanye

In fact, I pretty much only know who he is through his dumb publicity stunts. As far as I'm aware he does dumb publicity stunts for a living. He's the celebrity version of the crazy man on the street.
