And there's that big difference, as I said, I know jack shit about being an artist, thanks for clarifying that though :p

I slightly edited my previous post to avoid further confusion and unnecessary quotes (not that this one wasn't unnecessary).
I think there are varying levels between "porn" and "artistic nudity" (I'm not sure if the term Erotic is that seperate from porn..when I think of the word erotic I think of something thats trying to be a little classy) big old COCKS IN YOUR FACE is certainly porn..whereas somone naked in artistic lighting could be considered sexual but isnt overtly so, same with some rule 34 images which are sexual yet in a less graphic and more "feels" focused, I'd sow you some examples but...I'm at work

That kind of work has a way of following you around and I know more than one person who have had clients abruptly lose enthusiasm when the client found their name attached to 'inappropriate content'.
Which is why when I get the chance, I always tell artists that want to do this to go by a different alias and rarely if ever at all make a connection between your main blog or your NSFW blog. If a fan of one or the other finds out, you can easily PM them simply stating to not spread that connection around. Most(unless they are gunning for you) would happily oblige.

Of course if you just have to (or absolutely need the money) then I agree about separating accounts and contact details.
As other people have stated some of the creators of our most famous super heros did do porn in their early days and still became wildly popular. Of course you wouldn't see them go and announce that fact to the world. Then again, hiding porn back then is a fuck ton lot easier than it is now.

I thought most of these sites had specific sections for their NSFW stuff? Or do people just ignore those and post it wherever?
It gets really murky for those who are mixed bags. DeviantART stopped moderating worth shit 5 years ago, tumblr has a feature where you can mark your blog as SFW and NSFW (if you do porn and don't choose either option they will do it for you upon reporting and you can't undo it). Then you have those who are a mix of both.

That's kind of where the murky waters are. For you don't post enough porn to be considered a NSFW blog, but you also have a chunk of followers who are only into your SFW stuff. The courteous thing to do is simply give a heads up about your porn every once in a while and make a tag specifically for that so they can blacklist it.

However some have the ultimate "Do whatever the fuck I want attitude" and it doesn't really end well for both sides.

Am i the only one that thinks it's a bit ironic that this thread was opened by someone why the user name Dragonbums? I can imagine what you like drawing pictures of. Yeah, my milkshake brings all the dragonslayers to the dungeon!! :p
Haha you got me. Naw I don't actually draw that stuff. I just have a thing of coming up with the dumbest names on the planet. Regular names just don't work for me.
